Chapter 68 Ning Ning Little Friend · Newly Married Every Day
Pei Yuning, with tearful eyes, laid her hands on Shang Yanci's neck and sobbed softly.
Shang Yanci lifted her waist and held her in his arms. He gently stroked her back with his palm and said in a gentle voice, "Madam, did you have a nightmare? Don't be afraid. You are awake now. I am with you. It is all over."
Seeing her crying in a nightmare, Shang Yanci felt his heart break and he wished he could take her place. His little girl should be bright and cheerful, with a bright smile, living like a carefree princess.
Pei Yuning snuggled in his arms, using the warmth from his body to dispel the chill in her dreams.
Her tears fell on Shang Yanci's shoulders with a sound, as if they weighed a thousand pounds.
If she keeps crying like this, her eyes will be swollen when she wakes up tomorrow morning.
Shang Yanci took out a handkerchief and said, "Tears are very irritating to the skin on your face. I'll wipe it for you. Stop crying, okay?"
Pei Yuning said nothing and continued crying.
She was really scared by the nightmare. After all, she loved beauty the most. She had always taken good care of her pretty face and had been diligent in doing beauty care without any slackness.
Shang Yanci said slowly, "Madam, you can only cry for one last minute. If you cry for too long, I will feel bad."
Logically speaking, that incident happened sixteen years ago. Pei Yuning had dreamed about it before, but she had never cried so sadly after waking up like she did today. Even she felt that she was being hypocritical.
Ultimately, it was because Shang Yanci kept coaxing her, so the more she was coaxed, the more aggrieved she felt and the more she wanted to cry.
One minute on the clock was up, Shang Yanci raised his hand and grabbed Pei Yuning's neck, lifting her head which was resting on his shoulder.
Her eyelashes were wet, and the corners of her eyes were stained with a light red, like a lop-eared rabbit with red eyes. A tear fell from her right eye, and she cried so pitifully that it made people feel distressed.
Shang Yanci picked up the handkerchief and gently wiped the tears from her face, saying in a low and sweet voice: "Ningning, little friend, please stop crying. If you cry again, I will kiss you until you stop crying. After all, I have no other choice."
Pei Yuning lowered her eyes, and the end of her words were choked with sobs: "If you don't comfort me, I won't cry."
Shang Yanci put the handkerchief aside, leaned in and kissed her: "You know I can't help but comfort you, you cried so pitifully, what did you dream about?"
Pei Yuning's fingers twisted the fabric of Shang Yanci's suit, and her eyelashes trembled.
Shang Yanci said gently, "I'm sorry, don't think about it anymore. It will be over when you wake up. Let's not talk about it anymore."
So Pei Yuning's words stopped at his lips.
Shang Yanci carried her up and walked to the bathroom on the first floor. He turned on the warm water, took out a face towel, wet it, and wiped Pei Yuning's face: "Your eyes are red. Use ice cubes to cool them down later."
Pei Yuning: "Okay."
After washing, Shang Yanci carried her out of the bathroom.
Aunt Zhou walked from the kitchen to the restaurant, holding a plate of steamed sea bass in her hands: "Sir, Madam, dinner is ready."
Shang Yan said "hmm".
Pei Yuning twisted restlessly in his arms and whispered, "A Yan, put me down quickly!"
Shang Yanci held her soft waist, pinched it gently, chuckled lazily, and said nonchalantly: "Why are you shy? Aunt Zhou has become accustomed to it now. Besides, isn't it natural for newlyweds to be inseparable?"
Pei Yuning reminded: "It's been almost a month since we got the marriage certificate, so we can't be considered newlyweds."
Shang Yan carried her to the restaurant with a sweet voice, saying sweet words: "Everyone has different standards for judgment. In my opinion, my wife and I are newlyweds every day."
Hearing this, Pei Yuning's lips curled up, and his eyes were full of smiles: "You just know how to coax me."
Shang Yanci said seriously: "It is my duty to make you happy."
Shang Yanci put Pei Yuning on the armchair and sat beside her. He served her rice and soup, passed her dishes and paper, and served her comfortably and attentively.
After dinner, Shang Yanci filled a basin with water and placed it on the table in front of the sofa. He took out square ice cubes from the refrigerator and put them in the basin. He waited for a while, soaked a towel, and squeezed it until it was half dry.
Shang Yanci tried it on his own eyes: "It may be a little cold, just bear with it. Apply the cold compress for half an hour, and your eyes won't be swollen when you wake up tomorrow."
Pei Yuning lay on the sofa, watching his actions, her heart softened. She closed her eyes, her voice sweet and obedient: "I know."
A cold towel was placed across the eyelids. It was cool, but it relieved the swelling and heat around the eye sockets.
Worried that Pei Yuning would think of the nightmare in the evening when she closed her eyes, Shang Yanci always held her hand during the time when her vision was in darkness, and occasionally touched the temperature of the towel and changed it in time.
Half an hour later, Shang Yanci took off the towel covering Pei Yuning's eyes, raised his hand to cover her eyes, and said softly: "Okay, open your eyes slowly. The lights in the hall may be a little dazzling."
"Okay." Pei Yuning slowly opened his eyes, and what he saw was Shang Yanci's broad palm.
He is so considerate, even more thoughtful than women.
Pei Yuning took his hand, sat up, and leaned over to kiss him.
Shang Yanci reached out his hand and gently stroked the corners of her eyes with his warm fingertips: "It's still a little red."
"It will be fine after a good sleep." Pei Yuning remembered what her grandmother said in the afternoon, "Ayan, I have to go back to Yuhua Mingyuan tomorrow night."
Shang Yanci: "Yes, I know. I will have to sleep on a separate bed from my wife again."
Pei Yuning asked with a smile: "Ayan, can't you sleep without me?"
Shang Yanci admitted frankly: "Well, I can't sleep. I'm not used to it."
Pei Yuning smiled with a crooked look in her eyes, touched the wedding ring on his left hand, and said in a sly voice, "I'm not used to it either, but luckily it's only for one night."
"Yes." Shang Yanci picked her up and walked upstairs to the bedroom. "Go wash up. I'll take care of things in France. Go to bed early tonight and hold you for a while longer."
Pei Yuning nodded and said, "Okay."
So they each went about their own business.
It was nine o'clock in the evening when I lay down on the bed. It was the first time I went to bed so early.
They looked at each other knowingly.
Pei Yuning took the initiative to sit on Shang Yanci's waist and lowered her head to kiss him.
Shang Yanci's hands were on her waist, his hands were like finely carved precious jades, his slender fingers were as white as snow, and his blue veins were expanding sexily.
Pei Yuning's fingers touched the purple-red diamond ring on his left ring finger, and then the matte pink "papillon" tattoo on his little finger.
In between breaths, Pei Yuning asked softly, "Ayan, does 'papillon' simply mean 'butterfly'?"
Shang Yanci looked at her intently: "Why do you think of asking this?"
Pei Yuning: "I'm just curious. I heard that tattoos are very painful. I've thought about it before, but I didn't dare."
Shang Yanci smiled softly: "It doesn't hurt. Madam, what do you want to tattoo? You can tattoo it on my body."
Pei Yuning recalled for a moment and said slowly, "I wanted to tattoo a light green butterfly before, the kind of fresh light green that has the breath of early spring. But now I don't want to think about it anymore, that was a long time ago."
Shang Yanci quipped: "People's hearts are fickle."
Pei Yuning lowered her head and bit him, her tone delicate: "It's obviously human nature."
Shang Yanci let her bite him, then he moved forward and kissed her deeply on the lips, holding the back of her neck with his hands, not giving her a chance to retreat.
