Chapter 49

Chapter 49

In the restaurant of Qingjian County's state-owned canteen, Jiang Jiang chose a seat against the wall. She did not order any food and was obviously waiting for someone.

"Here." Jiang Jiang saw Chen Qiannan at the door, stood up and waved.

It's already autumn, and Jiang Jiang has changed into autumn clothes. She wears a lavender sweater and a pair of well-tailored dark blue jeans. Her hair is simply tied up with a black hairband. She looks youthful, gentle and fashionable.

"What would you like to eat?" Jiang Jiang handed her the menu.

"Stir-fried lotus root, stir-fried duck offal with pickled peppers...they all look delicious. I'll order one of each."

Jiang Jiang then added a clay pot soup to her dish. They should be able to finish it if they ordered just these.

"Why do you want to treat me to a meal out of the blue?" Chen Qiannan sat down in the seat in front of her. She and Jiang Jiang had been to each other's homes before, but her family relationships were more complicated, so Jiang Jiang didn't go to her home very often. More often, she would go to their home.

Jiang Jiang's parents are both very good people. Uncle Lin is knowledgeable and approachable, and Aunt He is gentle and considerate. Uncle Lin and Aunt He are really good to Jiang Jiang. If it weren't for Feng Yin's revelation, she really wouldn't have thought that they were not related by blood.

After Jiang Jiang bought all the food, she served Chen Qiannan a bowl of earthenware soup and said, "I have something to tell you, but I think it should be done in a more formal setting."

"My parents have been transferred to work in the district. Starting next week, I will not go to school. I will follow my parents to transfer to a middle school in the district."

Chen Qiannan looked at the steaming soup in front of her, and a melancholy emotion came over her, "I can't bear to leave you."

She has never had any close friends. Jiang Jiang is the only good friend she has made since she was a child. Without Jiang Jiang's company, Chen Qiannan couldn't imagine how boring and dull her life would be.

"I can't bear to leave you either. The squad leader is a good guy. Try to get along with him. You can always discuss things with him in the future."

Chen Qiannan lay down on the table and said weakly, "It seems that we can't go to the same high school. Have you thought about which university you want to apply to?"

Jiang Jiang had never thought about this.

"Jiang Jiang, why don't I apply to the Capital Dance Academy and you apply to Capital University, so that we can go to college in the capital together."

"Capital University?" Jiang Jiang heard that this was one of the highest institutions of learning in their country. If she remembered correctly, Zhong Xing was from this school. She couldn't help but feel a yearning in her heart, but when she heard that a very high score was required to enter this school, Jiang Jiang quickly calmed down and said, "I don't know if I can get in."

"You can do it." Chen Qiannan encouraged her.

"Okay, then I'll apply to Capital University."

"We agreed that we will meet in the capital then." Chen Qiannan gave her her little finger.

Jiang Jiang also stretched out her finger and made a pinky promise with her.

A new week began, and the head teacher announced a piece of news before class.

"Lin Jiangjiang from our class is transferring to another school because of her parents' job transfer. She will not be attending school starting this week."

When Feng Yin in the audience heard the news, the pencil he had sharpened broke with a "snap" because he had used too much force.

A feeling of unwillingness, resentment and powerlessness surged in my heart.

She originally thought that by disclosing Jiang Jiang's background, more people would know that Lin Jiang Jiang was not a good person, and then isolate her, making every second she spent in school a living hell. Unexpectedly, she was the one being looked at differently by the students.

As a result, Lin Youqing and his wife's impression of her also became worse.

With Jiang Jiang's transfer, the gap between her and her will become even bigger. Thinking of this possibility, Feng Yin wished she could bite her teeth to pieces. How could Jiang Jiang live so well after taking away everything that originally belonged to her, and even follow Lin Youqing and his wife to the region?

After the first class, Feng Yin hurriedly found an excuse to ask for leave and left school.

When Feng Yin arrived at the county party committee compound, Jiang Jiang's family was packing up at home. After several days, Lin Youqing and He Guijuan's work were finally handed over, and they would set off for the district tomorrow.

There was a hurried knock at the door. He Guijuan put the packed tea set into the box. Hearing the sound, she couldn't help but frowned, "Who is so anxious? Jiang Jiang, go open the door."

Jiang Jiang responded, and as soon as she opened the door, she saw Feng Yin glaring at her angrily. She was a little surprised.

"Are my uncle and aunt here?"

Jiang Jiang nodded and turned to let her in.

Lin Youqing and his wife were also a little surprised to see Feng Yin, "Feng Yin? Shouldn't you be in school at this time?"

"Uncle and aunt, I beg you to take me with you." Feng Yin knelt down in front of them eagerly, "I will be your daughter. When you are old, I will take care of you and see you to the end of your life."

Lin Youqing and He Guijuan looked at each other, both of them were a little stunned.

He Guijuan looked at her daughter behind her and said, "Jiang Jiang, go back to your room first. Mom and Dad have something to say to Feng Yin."

"OK."

When Feng Yin heard this, there was a hint of anticipation in her eyes. What did Third Aunt mean by asking Lin Jiangjiang to go back to the house?

He Guijuan looked at Feng Yin who was looking hopeful and sighed, "Feng Yin, you get up first."

"No, uncle and aunt, I won't get up unless you agree."

He Guijuan shook her head and said, "Your uncle and I have no intention of raising another child."

When Feng Yin heard this, her heart sank to the bottom of the valley.

He Guijuan knew in her heart that Feng Yin did not have a very deep relationship with them. She wanted to become their daughter so much just to get something from them and to take a shortcut by becoming their child.

He Guijuan had never thought of raising another child, not to mention that Feng Yin had ulterior motives. Even if she and her husband kept her by their side, today she could abandon her biological parents because she wanted to be the daughter of Lin Youqing and He Guijuan, and in the future she would abandon them both for others.

"You are a precocious child. Auntie believes that as long as you put your mind on the right path and don't just look at the small benefits in front of you, you will definitely have a great future. What's more, your family conditions are not bad. You are already much better than many of your peers."

Feng Yin secretly clenched her fists and bit her lower lip, seeming to disagree with what He Guijuan said.

How can a farmer's daughter be compared with the daughter of the county party committee's deputy secretary!

Seeing that she didn't listen to him, He Guijuan patted her shoulder and said, "Go back to school and continue your studies."

Feng Yin left the county party committee compound with a heart full of indignation and unwillingness to accept humiliation.

She swore that she would never let Lin Jiangjiang have an easy time in her lifetime!
