Chapter 229 Feeding Qiao Jianguo the Dog (1/2)

When they reached the fork in the street, Ali asked, "Sister Cai, are you going to visit him now? It's so late, do you want me to go with you?"

Cai Xiaohui waved her hand, "Go home, finish your homework and go to bed, you little kid."

Ali pouted unconvinced, "You are only six years older than me."

In a dilapidated warehouse filled with wooden boards, Qiao Jianguo lay powerlessly in a pile of straw, half of his body leaning against the boards.

He was completely stunned when he heard the sound of his car bells and the inaudible conversations coming from not far away.

Cai Xiaohui walked inside with a flashlight, shouting, "Rang Baozi? Qiang Baozi, are you still alive?"

Qiao Jianguo said weakly in a hoarse voice, "Can you please stop asking me to grab the buns? I have a name."

Cai Xiaohui walked in and took a photo of Qiao Jianguo.

Qiao Jianguo's eyes were not used to the light of the flashlight, so he raised his hand to cover them.

"What's your name then?" Cai Xiaohui moved the flashlight away.

"My name is Qiao Jianguo."

"Oh, you've even fallen to the point of snatching buns on the street, and you're still building a country. I think you should be happy to see the food."

Seeing that the other party did not reply, Cai Xiaohui asked again, "Are you feeling better?"

Qiao Jianguo whispered, "I feel better now. Thank you for saving me."

"Here, your dinner is still hot, eat it quickly. Oh, and here's some water."

Cai Xiaohui squatted in front of Qiao Jianguo and handed him the leftovers that she had just packed, and also handed him a military water bottle filled with hot water.

Qiao Jianguo didn't hesitate to take the food and started eating.

Cai Xiaohui said, "I have no money, I got this from a friend who is a businessman."

Qiao Jianguo hummed, "Thank you. If I have the chance in the future, I will return all the money I gave you."

Cai Xiaohui said, "Forget it. I just think I was unlucky. I was a bit too aggressive that day. They didn't charge me for the meal. I told them I would take it home and feed the dog."

"Oh." Qiao Jianguo was very calm.

Cai Xiaohui was surprised. "How come you are so calm? I'm scolding you in a roundabout way, but you're not angry at all?"

Qiao Jianguo said in a low voice, "Why are you angry? I have fallen to the point of snatching steamed buns on the street, and I am worse than a dog."

After saying this, Cai Xiaohui felt a little embarrassed, as she always felt that she was bullying the other person.

"Well, I didn't mean to scold you just now. That's just how I speak. Don't take it seriously."

Qiao Jianguo said, "I didn't take it to heart, and you're not wrong anyway."

Cai Xiaohui asked again, "Where are you from? Where do you want to go? I don't think you are a bad person, so how did you become like this?"

Qiao Jianguo chewed his cheek for a moment, then lowered his head and said nothing.

Cai Xiaohui asked again, "Where is your home? If it's nearby, I'll buy you a ticket. If it's far, I can't do anything about it."

"Hey, why don't you speak?"

"I can't go back." After a long while, Qiao Jianguo finally uttered a few words in a low voice.
