Chapter 69 Qin Xue's Marriage (2/2)

Qin Xue nodded awkwardly, and was pulled by several sisters-in-law of the same generation to sit at the table to drink tea. After the tea, everyone left, leaving behind Qin Xue, the man Qin Dehui, her aunt and Qin Dehui's widowed mother Xie Xiaoxiao.

Qin Dehui knew Qin Xue when they were children. He was about the same age as Qin Xue. He got married at the age of 20, and his wife gave birth to a daughter the following year.

My wife passed away when my daughter was just over one year old. Then, when my daughter was over three years old, he also passed away because of improper care.

He has been single for nearly ten years now.

Xie Xiaoxiao asked Aunt Qin and Qin Xue to sit down, and she went to the kitchen to cook.

Qin Dehui sat on a low stool, feeling awkward and not knowing how to start the conversation. He could only rub the calluses on his palms.

Seeing that the atmosphere was awkward, Aunt Qin chatted with Qin Dehui in a casual manner, and her words always emphasized Qin Dehui's ability.

Qin Xue glanced at the room, which could be described as dirty and messy.

There were pigs, dogs, and chickens in the house. There was chicken shit all over the yard, in the hall, on the threshold of the living room, and at the door.

Next to the door to the living room were dog bowls and chicken food bowls, dirty and full of flies.

Qin Xue stood up and pretended to look around the house. She looked into the kitchen and saw Xie Xiaoxiao pick up a wooden ladle from the pig feed bowl, scoop some water into it, rinse the pot of boiled pig food, and then start cooking.

After frying a pumpkin, she poured a bucket of water into the pot, took out a bowl of cold rice from the cupboard and poured it into the water. She also picked up a little lard with chopsticks and added some salt.

The lunch meal was a bowl of rice soup, a boiled pumpkin, two cut salted duck eggs and a bowl of homemade pickled garlic.

Aunt Qin's face looked a little unhappy, but she still laughed it off, "Xue, that's how it is in the countryside. Your Aunt Xie knows how to live, otherwise she wouldn't have built such a big tile house."

Qin Dehui also had a look of displeasure on his face. He had clearly just bought two pieces of tofu early in the morning.

Xie Xiaoxiao invited everyone to eat, "I'm sorry to have embarrassed you. I'm old now, and I don't like to move around much on weekdays. I don't like to clean up. We are all acquaintances, and it's not the first time we've met, so let's just eat a simple meal.

There will be two more mouths to feed in the family in the future. People say that the little brats are eating me to death, so I have to be more calculative in my life.

After Xue came into the house, the household chores were handed over to Xue, and she would be invited to have a meal with her aunt from time to time. ”

Xie Xiaoxiao laughed as she spoke, "Hehehe, if you ask me, my Dehui and Xue girl are destined to be together. My Dehui is hardworking and filial. He doesn't like to listen to anyone but me, his mother. Whatever I say is what it is. This is the rule of our family..."

Qin Dehui blushed and interrupted Xie Xiaoxiao in a low voice, "Mom, what are you talking about? I'm already such a grown-up, I listen to myself."

Qin Xue could hardly smile anymore. This was obviously a warning to her. She left with the excuse of having something to do without even eating.

As soon as she walked out of the door, Qin Xue heard her aunt arguing with Xie Xiaoxiao, "What's wrong with you? When you couldn't get a wife, you wanted to kowtow and beg for one. Now that I've brought you a wife, you're picking on me and trying to intimidate me. Do you think I'm stupid?"

Xie Xiaoxiao's voice was also very loud, "Cousin, isn't she just a widow who got married for the second time? She has to take care of a son, and her brother and mother are all in the village, can she still run away?

She is very lucky to have found someone like my Dehui. She has a burden, but my Dehui doesn't have any burden. I am afraid that she will cheat my Dehui.

What did I do to her? The rice was already under her chin, and I almost chewed it up before feeding it to her. She was giving her elders the cold shoulder before even entering the house. Is she dissatisfied with me for not serving her delicious food? Does she deserve it? ”

Qin Xue was so furious that she was boiling with anger, but she thought of her mother and gritted her teeth to swallow her anger.

Her mother was already being gossiped about and looked down upon by the villagers, and she couldn't add to the gossip and have her mother be laughed at and ridiculed.

Qin Xue shivered as she endured the breath. She walked away with red eyes, and a figure flashed through her mind.

The man picked up the pillar that could not move and placed it on the cart.

The man hunched his back slightly in the cold wind, looking at her nervously and cautiously, with indelible shame and timidity in his eyes.
