Chapter 20: Prodigal Wife
There was only a little left of my lunch, and there was some porridge and steamed buns in the other lunch box.
After changing clothes, Lian Yuqing was about to go out when someone knocked on the door.
She wondered who would come to see her.
When the door opened, there stood a simple middle-aged woman with thick braids and two inappropriate blushes on her face. Before Lian Yuqing could say anything, she grinned and said cheerfully, "Captain Wei's wife, she looks like a picture."
"Who are you?"
The woman's grin widened. "My name is Cai Guifen, and my husband is the platoon leader of the third platoon."
Lian Yuqing nodded after hearing this, "Do you have anything to do with me?"
"Captain Wei has made an appointment with my wife to let me take you shopping."
Bingkuai was very thoughtful, "Sister Cai, please come in and sit for a while. I'll get something."
Even when they were separated by a room, Cai Guifen sat on a chair and looked around, unable to hide her envy. Captain Wei's family was just a couple, living in a three-bedroom apartment, while she had two sons, so the family of four could only live in one room.
Who lets men have such a thing?
There was twenty yuan on the bedside table. Lian Yuqing found it when she woke up. Wei Dong didn't even leave a note. It turned out that he wanted her to go out and buy something.
He put the money into his pocket without hesitation, and Lian Yuqing thought, please don't let it be living expenses, it will take another month to save enough money for a divorce!
"This piece of land is vacant, let people grow vegetables. My family has grown a lot of vegetables. If you want to, ask Captain Wei to help you turn the land over, and you'll have food to eat in a month or so."
There is an open space in the middle of each building, which looks lush and green. However, Lian Yuqing has no intention of growing vegetables and is not very interested in it.
Cai Guifen had been here for five days and knew everything. She went downstairs and took Lian Yuqing with her to greet people.
She usually just smiles slightly and is not very enthusiastic.
After they left, everyone in the family compound said that Captain Wei's wife was too arrogant and didn't want to talk to others.
The military unit is quite remote and there is no shuttle bus here. We usually take the canteen's food delivery bus to go out.
The soldier driving the car was so shy when he saw Lian Yuqing that he didn't dare to look up. Later, he felt normal when he heard Cai Guifen say that she was the wife of Captain Wei.
After seeing how fast Lian and Qing spent the coins, Cai Guifen couldn't help but be amazed. Wow, Captain Wei's wife is such a spendthrift.
She bought three towels, two washbasins, and countless other things left. I saw her take a look at the things and then pay for them. In less than an hour, she had spent nearly twenty yuan.

Cai Guifen had always kept her distance from alluring women like Lian Yuqing since she was young. If her husband had not agreed to it, she would not have approached him.
How can they afford this? I heard that Captain Wei is from the countryside just like them.
Lian Yuqing was particular about getting things done quickly, so she wasn't in the mood to hang around. She bought all the things the family needed, and noticed that Cai Guifen was looking at her with a strange look in her eyes.
But she doesn't care.
"Sister Cai, let's go out and eat." Lian Yuqing pointed to the restaurant next door.
Cai Guifen was so scared that she waved her hands and said, "No need, I brought some steamed buns with me."
"I'm a stranger in this place, and you've enthusiastically told me a lot of things, and even accompanied me to go shopping. You've worked hard, so it's only right that I treat you to lunch, come on."
Lian Yuqing said it twice and invited her to dinner.
Cai Guifen put away the steamed bun hesitantly and was dragged into the restaurant by Lian Yuqing.
