Chapter 21 Sending Dumplings
He pulled his hand back from Cheng Weiwei's and said coldly, "I'm tired after a day. I'm going home to take a shower and will be back in Yuecheng later."
Cheng Weiwei was stunned. "Okay, I'll go with you tomorrow."
Jiang Min's figure had disappeared at the stairs.
Cheng Weiwei and Jiang Min are teachers in the same school. Cheng Weiwei teaches music and Jiang Min teaches mathematics.
Wei Dong returned home in the evening with two lunch boxes in his hands, having gotten his meals from the canteen.
Lian Yuqing pushed the bag on the table and said, "I brought you two meat buns."
The buns were already cold and not as fragrant as when they were freshly baked. Wei Dong never expected that she would bring him some snacks.
When she smiled, her eyes curved like crescent moons. "It's delicious. Come and try it."
Wei Dong put down the lunch box and picked up the bag, "I'll go heat it up."
The chef in the cafeteria cooked pork ribs, and Wei Dong ordered two pieces, as well as some refreshing stir-fried cabbage. Wei Dong brought the steaming hot buns to the table.
The two sat face to face. After Wei Dong had bitten open the bun skin and taken a full mouthful of stuffing, Lian Yuqing said, "You spent all the ten dollars you gave me. It's not that I wasted money. I bought the buns because my family needed them. Pots, pans, and other utensils are very expensive."
In fact, there were still four dollars left, but she would not hand it over.
Wei Dong recalled that he had just seen two pitiful bowls in the kitchen, without even a spatula. Forget it, he didn't cook much anyway.
He hummed, picked up the food with his chopsticks, and ate very quickly, as if he really didn't care.
Lian Yuqing asked again: "When will you give me my living expenses?"
After he swallowed the food in his mouth, he said, "At the beginning of every month."
"Oh." After calculating, there are still about ten days left before the payment. Lian Yuqing finally understood the mentality of those working class people who were paid monthly. It was really too painful.
He put another bun from the plate into Wei Dong's bowl, while Lian Yuqing lowered his head to fight with Da Pai.
She likes to eat fresh food and usually doesn't eat after meals.
Halfway through the meal, someone knocked on the door. "Brother Wei, are you home?"
It’s Cheng Weiwei.
Wei Dong put down his chopsticks and prepared to open the door, but he didn't expect Lian Yuqing to stand up first, walk to the door, open it, and then slam it shut.
Cheng Weiwei came over to bring dumplings to Wei Dong. After knocking twice, the door opened. It was Lian Yuqing with an expressionless face. Her sweet smile froze instantly.
Lian Yuqing snatched the lunch box from her and slammed the door.
This vicious woman almost disfigured herself.
Lian Yuqing came back with an opened lunch box in his hand, which was filled with big, plump dumplings.
Lian Yuqing picked up one and put it in his mouth as if nothing had happened. "No, the celery is too old."
After all, Cheng Weiwei is a good brother and sister. Wei Dong stood up and opened the door, but saw no one.
Wei Dong stood beside Lian Yuqing and watched her eat five dumplings in one breath, leaving her lunch box half empty. She had clearly complained that the celery was too old.
The light bulb was behind him, and half of his face was hidden in the darkness. "Do you hate Cheng Weiwei?"
She crossed her legs and looked at him with her chin in her hands, "It's all because of her..." I like you.
The words went around in circles, but in the end, they were never spoken.
Although she is not really a vicious female supporting role to cause trouble for the male and female protagonists, why should she speed up their relationship? She is not that kind.
"Of course she's jealous of me. She's jealous that I'm prettier, whiter, and have a better figure than her, and that I have a husband."
The last one was just a joke.
After hearing this, Wei Dong's eyes darkened and he sat down to eat.
