A true portrayal of a poor student.
This morning, Wei Miaomiao was busy feeding chickens, washing clothes, and sweeping the floor. Lian Yuqing just sat in a chair and watched her busy, and didn't want to help at all.
Even so, Wei Miaomiao was still flattered that her sister-in-law took the initiative to talk to her for such a long time without being sarcastic or scolding her.
Wei Dong walked in carrying two fishes, and seeing his aunt and sister-in-law talking and laughing, he raised his eyebrows and looked at her.
Lian Yuqing also saw him and asked him, "Miao Miao said there is a meeting today. Don't forget what you promised me last night."
Wei Dong nodded, "I'll buy it later."
"I want one too." Lian Yuqing said hurriedly. She didn't believe Wei Dong's judgment.
Wei Dong didn't object, but when he passed by her, Lian Yuqing pinched his nose and said with disgust, "Why do you smell so fishy? Stay away from me."
Wei Dong glanced at the fish in his hand, and thought of how he had specially gone to the river to catch it in order to nourish her body, and he instantly wanted to throw the fish back to her.
After thinking about it, I decided to bring the fish into the kitchen so that my younger brothers and sisters could also feed it. I found a basin, filled it with water, and kept it there for the time being.
After taking a shower and changing clothes, he took Lian and Qing out.
The village market was bustling with people mostly selling their homemade items. They were afraid of losing him, so they even grabbed Wei Dong's clothes.
Seeing that she was staring at the man selling hairbands and flowers not far away, Wei Dong asked, "Would you like to pick two?"
Although they were going to get divorced, he would not treat Lian Yuqing harshly. She used to be a spoiled young lady, and he would try his best to meet her demands within his ability.
She shook her head, "I don't like it."
That's right, how could she like country things.
Lian Yuqing asked Wei Dong to treat her to two fried dumplings, which were of a flavor she had never tasted before. They were freshly fried and especially fragrant.
Seeing her sticking out her tongue due to the burns, Wei Dong wondered for the first time whether she wanted to live with him peacefully. But soon, this thought was thrown out of his mind.
Lian Yuqing only asked Wei Dong to buy a wooden tub for bathing and nothing else.
Wei Dong thought about his younger siblings at home and bought ten pears.
When Chen Caiqi heard from her youngest daughter that her son and daughter-in-law had gone to the market, she felt very upset. She thought that it would cost a lot of money again. Her eldest son was in the army and earned his money through hard work, but her daughter-in-law was a glutton and no matter how much she earned, it was never enough.
"Mom, brother and sister-in-law are back." Wei Miaomiao shouted outside the house. Chen Caiqi gritted her teeth and walked out, determined that she would scold her daughter-in-law for being too naughty.
Unexpectedly, the eldest son carried a wooden barrel and bought nothing except a bag of pears.
"Is that all you bought?" Chen Caiqi said in disbelief.
Lian Yuqing Bai's deep meaning in her words showed his impatience, "There's nothing I like."
Wei Dong helped clean the wooden barrel inside and out, and dried it in the sun before moving it back into the house.
At noon, Chen Caiqi killed the two fish that Wei Dong caught and cooked fish soup.
Nothing else was added, the fish soup was boiled until it was milky white, and only shredded ginger and chopped green onions were added. It was very delicious. Even though Yuqing didn't have any rice, he drank two bowls of fish soup.
Wei Dong took in the whole thing. It seemed that he didn't have a small appetite, but he just thought the food was not tasty enough.
"I caught this fish." Wei Dong said suddenly.
Lian Yuqing knew he was talking to her, so she put down the bowl and said, "Why, I can't drink? You stingy guy."
Wei Dong said seriously: "Then you said I was fishy."
"Are your fishy smell and the delicious fish soup the same thing? The delicious fish soup is because my mother is a good cook."
It was the first time that Chen Caiqi was praised by her daughter-in-law. Her heart beat faster and she felt weird.
