Chapter 9: Fighting the Human Traffickers

Xu Zhaodi was panicking. She ran towards the alley entrance without hesitation.

The alley was very deep. After running halfway forward, I finally caught up with the two people in front of me.

The man carried the little girl on his shoulders and the woman carried the box, and they walked very fast as if their feet were greased.

Xu Zhaodi didn't dare to follow too closely. She kept paying attention to her surroundings while walking.

Ten minutes later, the two men arrived at the gate of a courtyard, looked around carefully, took out the key, unlocked it, and closed the door.

Xu Zhaodi peeked inside through the crack in the door. The girl was still asleep and was being carried into the room by the man.

She was extremely anxious and her mind started to wander.

The girl is pretty, but I'm afraid the man inside has bad intentions.

She was going to the family compound. She must be someone's sister, or someone's daughter. If anything went wrong, it would ruin her life.

She had been hurt before and knew how it felt. It was worse than death.

She couldn't just ignore this.

No matter what, stay calm.

Xu Zhaodi looked around and saw a pile of firewood outside the courtyard wall. She strode over, pushed a tree trunk as thick as her thigh against the wall, grabbed the trunk with one hand, stepped on the firewood, and looked inside.

The two people inside took the girl's clothes to another room and started rummaging through things.

Xu Zhaodi secretly breathed a sigh of relief, fortunately the girl was dead.

When she came down from the pile of dry firewood with her back bent, she didn't notice the tall man standing beside her at all. When she turned around and met the man's puzzled eyes, she was almost scared to cry out.

Just as the man was about to open his mouth to speak, Xu Zhaodi made a hushing gesture, took two steps forward and pulled the man aside.

The man looked about the same age as Chen Jianguo. He looked down at Xu Zhaodi's chubby hands, then glanced at the courtyard wall in confusion.

Is there anything in here?

At the corner, Xu Zhaodi let go of him and said, "Brother, may I ask, do you live nearby?"

"Yeah, what's the matter?"

“Are you a good guy or a bad guy?”

The man burst out laughing, and Xu Zhaodi then realized that this was a very strange question. How could a bad person be willing to admit that he was a good person?

"Do you think I'm a bad guy or a good guy?"

Xu Zhaodi was anxious, but she looked calm: "Brother, I beg you for a favor. Do you know the Public Security Bureau? Can you help me call the police? A man and a woman took my suitcase. I can't beat them. I'm afraid I'll be in danger if I rush in. Brother, can you please call the police for me?"

The man looked Xu Zhaodi up and down and said, "You said the people inside are thieves? That's impossible. They are often away from home and only come back once in a while."

Xu Zhaodi heard this and was sure that the man was not an accomplice of the two people inside, so she said, "Brother, they are human traffickers, they kidnapped my sister, I beg you, please help me call the police.

This is also our first time here. We are unfamiliar with the place. If something happens to my sister, how will she live in the future? "

The man looked unconvinced. The next second he stood where Xu Zhaodi had just stood and took a look. He came down with a gloomy face and whispered, "Hide quickly. Don't let them find you. I'm going to call the police now."

They were neighbors, indeed. She had passed by here several times before and had always vaguely heard a woman crying in the yard, but she had never thought about it. Seeing Xu Zhaodi's anxious look, she knew it was probably true.

The man turned and ran towards the entrance of the alley.

Xu Zhaodi was anxious. She heard a scream from a little girl inside, and then nothing happened.

In desperation, she picked up a piece of wood and threw it into the yard.

Never mind, let’s lure that guy out first. She’s fat and strong, so she can definitely handle him.

Sure enough, the man soon stood in the yard and cursed: "Damn it, who is this?"

Xu Zhaodi picked up a wooden rat that was easy to use and hid beside the door.

In the previous conversation, she had never learned any self-defense skills, but she was very good at playing golf. She held the wooden rat tightly, and the wooden door was opened from the inside with a creak. The man came out without any preparation, and Xu Zhaodi swung the wooden rat in her hand towards the man's forehead, with quick and fierce movements.

The man didn't even see who it was before his eyes went dark and he passed out.

Xu Zhaodi was afraid that he would wake up soon, so she raised her hand and hit him on the head again.

This time, his head was directly broken, and the air was filled with the smell of blood.

A woman's voice came from inside: "Dog, who is it?"

There was no sound in the yard. The old woman opened the door curtain and saw her son's feet standing upright on the door frame.

"Dog, you don't have a baby, do you?"

Gouzi, this name really sounds like a dog, what a beast.

The woman anxiously lifted the door curtain. As soon as she stepped out, she felt a pain on the back of her head. She reached out her hand and found it was covered in blood.

The woman's eyes fluttered and she fainted in front of Xu Zhaodi.

She didn't dare to delay and went in to take a look. The little girl's mouth was stuffed with a rag, her feet were tied up, her body was dirty and her face was full of tears, she looked in a miserable state.

Fortunately, her skirt was intact.

When the little girl saw her, her eyes were filled with excitement, tears instantly flashed in her eyes, and she whimpered as if she had seen a life-saving straw.

Xu Zhaodi took the rag out of her mouth, and the little girl immediately burst into tears: "Big sister, save me! They are human traffickers, and they want to sell me to a remote place."

When Xu Zhaodi squatted down, she didn't notice that her hands were shaking like a sieve.

Her face was pale and her forehead was covered with cold sweat.

"Don't make any noise. I'll help you untie the rope first."

After the ropes on my feet were untied, I don't know what method they used to untie the ropes on my wrists, but they couldn't untie them.

Xu Zhaodi was afraid that they would suddenly wake up, so she said, "It's too late. I'll take you away first."

"Sister, my box contains my ID, a letter of introduction from my father, and my food ration book and food coupons."

Such important things are all in the box.

Xu Zhaodi pulled the man up from the ground and said, "You run first, I'll go find something for you."

She knew where her suitcase was.

When I entered the room, the suitcase was still there, but the things were gone.

Xu Zhaodi rummaged around, looking for these things in the woman's bag.

She came out of the room carrying a suitcase and took the girl towards the door. After they had taken two steps, the man who had just fallen at the door staggered when he stood up.

The blood from his forehead flowed all over his face, and his deep eyes were dark.

The man said hoarsely, glaring and gnashing his teeth: "You stinky bitch, you're so cruel, you even dared to hit me on the head.

I will not let you leave this door today."

The man sneered, his feet unsteady, and he turned around and closed the door while breathing heavily.

When he looked back, he wiped the blood off his face with his sleeve and took out a sharp short knife from his trouser pocket.
