The Moonlight Pavilion over the Lotus Pond is also a must-see for students and tourists visiting Tsinghua University.
Located on the eastern hill of Jinchun Garden surrounded by lotus ponds, this pavilion was built to commemorate Mr. Zhu Ziqing who wrote the famous essay "Moonlight over the Lotus Pond" here.
In 1927, Zhu Ziqing was teaching at Tsinghua University. Under the political situation of that year, as a patriotic intellectual, Zhu Ziqing faced the dark reality of the time. He wandered around the lotus pond in depression and wrote this article.
The scenery here in early spring is not very beautiful.
Having just experienced a bitterly cold winter, the branches are still dry and have not had time to sprout green buds.
I heard that in summer, the pond will be full of lotus leaves, which is a beautiful sight.
Under the bright moonlight, Yu Sangzhi and Huo Feng came to the Moonlight Pavilion in the Lotus Pond.
It was late at night and there were still classmates in the pavilion.
Huo Feng parked his bicycle aside, put his arm around Yu Sangzhi's shoulders, and walked slowly with her along the shore, into the Moonlight Pavilion over the Lotus Pond.
Just when they arrived, there was a couple sitting in the pavilion, chatting and enjoying the scenery.
When Yu Sangzhi and Huo Feng arrived, the pavilion for two people became a pavilion for four people, which seemed to have ruined the elegant time of the young couple.
Because, just as the young couple was kissing each other lovingly, Yu Sangzhi and Huo Feng walked into the pavilion...
Thus, the separation scene visible to the naked eye was seen by Yu Sangzhi and Huo Feng.
At that moment, the four of them looked at each other awkwardly.
Yu Sangzhi and Huo Feng quickly turned around, facing the lotus pond, with their backs to the young couple, their bodies extremely stiff.
Yu Sangzhi pinched Huo Feng's arm and said, "Let's go, let's go quickly."
Huo Feng whispered back to her: "The pavilion is public, so why don't we sit here too?"
Yu Sangzhi nudged him again, "That's obviously not okay. You're ruining other people's dates."
Huo Feng added, "We are also on a date. Can't we date here? There are so many lovers on Lover's Hill, and no one will feel embarrassed."
Yu Sangzhi frowned and looked up at Huo Feng, repeating seriously, "Let's go!"
"Okay, let's go..."
Huo Feng could only listen to her.
So the two of them prepared to leave the Lotus Pond Moonlight Pavilion.
Just as they were about to leave, the couple suddenly called out to them...
"Hey classmate..."
Yu Sangzhi and Huo Feng turned around when they heard the voice, only to see the girl suddenly stand up and walk towards them with her phone in hand. "Can you take a picture of us? Take a picture of the lotus pond behind us?"
"Okay." Yu Sangzhi nodded.
So Yu Sangzhi answered the girl's phone, and saw the girl run over and pull up the boy, dragging him to the lotus pond that was so clean that no lotus leaves had yet grown, and standing side by side.
"Thank you."
Before they started taking pictures, the girl thanked them both, which made Yu Sangzhi feel embarrassed.
So, Yu Sangzhi and Huo Feng stood in front of them, and Yu Sangzhi raised his mobile phone to take a picture of them.
"The light at night isn't very good."
Yu Sangzhi tapped the phone screen, frowning as he said, "Maybe the effect isn't very good, and the scenery won't be very beautiful either."
"It's okay, it's okay, this is fine. We just want to take a photo as a souvenir because he is leaving tomorrow." The girl said with a smile.
"Oh... okay..."
Yu Sangzhi nodded, adjusted the lighting, and took a not-so-good-looking photo of the two of them.
Afterwards, the girl asked, "Can you take a photo of the Lotus Pond Moonlight plaque for us? The two of us with that plaque."
"good."
So, changing positions, Yu Sangzhi took another photo of the two of them.
Because it was night, the light was not very good and the quality of the photos was not very good.
But at least, the scenery and people that should be seen clearly can be seen clearly...
Yu Sangzhi returned the phone to the girl. The girl thanked him twice and then lowered her head to flip through the photos with her boyfriend.
Yu Sangzhi and Huo Feng didn't plan to disturb them. She took Huo Feng's arm and was about to lead him out of the pavilion when she suddenly heard the girl say to the boy behind her, "Although our meeting was short, we've taken some photos. This way, you'll have fewer regrets when you leave tomorrow."
The boy whispered to the girl, "When can we meet again? Are you going back to your hometown for the New Year?"
The girl shook her head. "No, I'm busy as a graduate student and I have to spend my summer vacation in the lab."
Boy: "Okay."
The girl said in a reproachful tone, "I told you not to take the postgraduate entrance exam, and now you want to live with me in a different place."
After listening to almost everything, Yu Sangzhi and Huo Feng slowly walked out of the pavilion...
Although it was just a few words, they both heard the hardship of being away from home.
Huo Feng felt a little sad. He stroked Yu Sangzhi's shoulders, took a deep breath, and sighed slowly...
"What are you doing?"
Yu Sangzhi looked up at him and pointed a finger at Huo Feng, "Suddenly sigh!"
“It’s uncomfortable.”
Huo Feng patted his chest and sighed, "You said, we should be in different places in the future, right?"
Yu Sangzhi nodded, "Very likely."
Because if Yu Sangzhi's academic career goes smoothly, she would like to study abroad, learn more advanced technologies, and then return to serve the country.
But Huo Feng had no plans to go abroad.
Furthermore, with Huo Feng’s current achievements, it is difficult for him to go abroad!
Huo Feng spent the last semester lazily, and his grades and GPA are very low this semester.
The hard requirements for studying abroad, in addition to the student's personal performance, also include the average grade point average.
Anyway, Huo Feng is not good...
Moreover, Huo Feng had never thought about studying abroad.
