Chapter 113 The Golden Hook Fishing - Twenty-Seven Miracles

Chapter 113 The Golden Hook Fishing - Twenty-Seven Miracles

Rong Dai smiled and said, "Lin Shukai, you're funny. Your son's life is hanging in the balance, and the first thing you ask when you answer the phone isn't where your son is, but where I am? At this critical moment, with such a big incident, I'm just calling to let you know that after you bring your son back, he'll be staying at the Rong family's house. You don't need to worry about him anymore."

Lin Shukai scoffed, "You haven't looked for your son all these years, and now you know to look for him?"

Without giving the other side a chance to retaliate, he immediately asked again, "Where are they?"

...

Rong Dai learned from her sister that Lin Shukai was searching for Xingmian and Xiaoyu all over the ocean. After asking for details, she realized that such a big thing had happened. The Rong family also put in a lot of effort to find the two of them. After searching for many days without success, she simply stayed at a hotel in the port.

Just when everyone was getting anxious, at around 5 a.m. this morning, a woman dressed in strange clothes with her hair tied up high knocked on the door of the Rongdai Hotel.

Early in the morning, Rong Dai's room was filled with smoke. Upon opening the door, she saw a strange woman who looked travel-worn. The woman fanned herself away from the pungent smell of smoke and wrinkled her nose as she asked, "Excuse me, are you Ms. Rong Dai?"

"It's me." Rong Dai had stayed up all night, and her head was throbbing with pain. "Who are you?"

After hearing Rong Dai's affirmative answer, the other party sighed softly: "This time you've finally found the right person. I have something important to tell you, which concerns your son."

Rong Dai had never been a good student, and she could only understand a few words in the Mandarin spoken by this man. However, seeing his serious expression and imposing aura, she unconsciously said solemnly, "Please wait a moment, I'll change my clothes, and we can talk in detail in the coffee shop on the second floor."

The Taoist priest whom Xu Zhiyu and Rong Dai met on the island was named "Guichenzi". The Taoist priest who came to deliver a message to Rong Dai was the junior sister mentioned by Guichenzi, whose Taoist name was "Qingfeng Sanren".

The Taoist priest only shared the most important information. It was through her that Rong Dai learned the current location of Lin Xingmian and Xu Zhiyu. Although she didn't know if the information was true or false, it was better than having no information at all. At this critical moment, the Taoist priest's appearance was undoubtedly a stroke of good luck.

She wisely refrained from pressing further about questions like "How did the Taoist know this?" and "How did she find herself?" Instead, she immediately called her father and urged him to send reinforcements to the location the Taoist Qingfeng had indicated.

However, in the short time it took to turn around and make a phone call, when Rong Dai returned to properly thank the lady, the spot where she had been sitting was empty. She looked around in confusion but didn't see anyone. She figured the lady had gone to the restroom, so she decided to wait there.

As soon as I sat down, I found a worn-out note under my coffee cup, with a few strong, bold characters written on it:

Having been entrusted with the task, the message has been delivered, and Qingfeng bids farewell.

Rong Dai stared blankly at the note, unconsciously taking a deep breath and lighting a cigarette. A spark from the cigarette accidentally fell onto the paper, causing a burning sensation. She rubbed her empty fingers, wondering if she was dreaming, and in her dream she had unexpectedly received guidance from a master.

...

.

It was nearly evening when the helicopter arrived at the island. After circling overhead, it finally locked onto the south shore for landing. In the distance, a pure white rescue capsule was seen docked on the south coast. The search and rescuer on the helicopter looked through his binoculars and indeed saw two figures the size of sesame seeds. He was excited and dialed his headset, saying, "Rescue target locked, south shore of Island 99, prepare to land immediately!"

The roar of the propellers was deafening, bringing with it a gust of wind that whipped up a curtain of sand on the shore.

Having gone through this ordeal, Xu Zhiyu looked at the Rong family's logo on the helicopter. The wind ruffled her hair and reddened her eyes.

She hugged her arms tightly, her nerves causing her to tremble uncontrollably. She turned around and glanced at the woods behind her, but she couldn't quite remember. When they went in the day before yesterday, there seemed to be a small path that didn't look like a road, but today even that path was gone. If she were to walk it again, she wouldn't even know where to start.

Lin Xingmian followed her gaze and looked back. He put his arm around her shoulder and patted her gently, saying, "Let's go home."

Xu Zhiyu sat in the helicopter, watching the island recede into the distance. From the sky, the sea appeared many, many times larger than she had imagined. Xingmian pointed out the route their life pod had taken that day to her, explaining his analysis and marveling at their luck. He was also incredibly grateful that they had actually made it home alive.

She rested her head on his shoulder. The loud roar of the propeller couldn't wake her from her exhaustion. She felt a strange emptiness in her heart. She smiled through her tears. The feeling of being reborn after a disaster was so complex.

.

The plane landed at the port of Shangcheng, and the Rong family's special car picked up the two little darlings and took them home.

Rong Dai was in the same car as them, sitting in the passenger seat. She frequently turned around to check if the two children had any injuries. Looking at the two pitiful children, she had a lot of questions stuck in her throat. Just as she was about to ask something, her son gestured for her to be quiet.

Ah Yu didn't seem to be in a good state. She sat quietly in the car, watching the scenery receding outside the window, biting her lip and not saying a word.

Xingmian dared not speak. He didn't know what his sister was thinking. He only knew that she had survived this close call and had never encountered anything like kidnapping before. She must be terrified. Growing up in a wealthy family, he was used to such things and had long witnessed the wickedness of people. His sister was different, and he really didn't want her to see such an ugly side of the world.

As the car drove into the Rong family compound, the Western European-style buildings with their ancient Roman architecture flowed slowly past. In the past, Xu Zhiyu would have stared with wide, curious eyes, looking around. But now, she could no longer be interested in these ethereal things. Money was both a treasure and a curse; its allure was too great. The menacing faces of Chen Hui and his gang celebrating with champagne uncontrollably surfaced in her mind.

What happy thing are they celebrating?

It's about making money by killing people...

Damn it, damn it, I killed Xingmian!

Thinking of this, she became nervous again, tightly gripping Xingmian's fingers to ease her unease.

Lin Xingmian's heart clenched: "It's okay, we're safe now, we'll be home soon."

Ah Yu looked preoccupied. Had she really gotten home?

Is this her home?

The car stopped, and a group of people rushed out of the door. Their worried gazes enveloped the two of them. Master Rong walked at the front, and he looked Lin Xingmian up and down before asking, "Is there anything wrong?"

Lin Xingmian shook her head and looked at her father.

Lin Shukai understood and stepped forward to explain, "I've found the person and taken care of it. It was my oversight that made you two suffer. Luckily, it was all over in the end."

"Who did this?" he asked, determined to get to the bottom of it.

Lin Shukai, however, did not want to say it in front of so many people. He turned his face and looked at Xu Zhiyu.

Everywhere Ah Yu looked, there were countless unfamiliar faces, which intensified her sadness.

Lin's father seemed to see right through her, and said, "There's good news before we find you."

Whatever good news it was, it probably had nothing to do with her, so Ayu wasn't interested. She just quietly stayed by Xingmian's side, waiting for him to finish reuniting with his family so they could go to the room to rest together.

But Lin Shukai's gaze lingered on her face: "Mr. Xu has woken up."

"What?!" Lin Xingmian reacted even faster than Ayu. "You mean Uncle Xu Wenfan?"

He specifically mentioned the name "Xu Wenfan," and those three words successfully brightened Ayu's dejected eyes. She excitedly grabbed Lin Shukai's sleeve, her eyes instantly turning red: "Uncle Lin, are you talking about my dad? Is he better now?"

She shook him, tears falling as she spoke, but her lips trembled and turned up in a smile.

Lin Shukai nodded solemnly: "He's not fully recovered yet. He's woken up from his previous vegetative state, but his limbs are stiff from being bedridden for so long. He'll need some time to recover before he can walk normally again."

He turned and gestured towards the door above the steps: "I brought them all over today. I wasn't planning to tell them, but your mother saw the news and asked me first, so I had to tell them the truth. They're all very worried about you. Why don't you go up and see them?"

Before Lin's father could finish speaking, A-Yu suddenly released him. Her frail body was instantly filled with strength. She weaved through the crowd, climbed the stairs in a few steps, and ran all the way into the doorway. Just as she reached the door, she saw an incredibly heartwarming scene—

While pushing Mr. Xu's wheelchair, Mrs. Xu would take two steps and then stop to tidy her own clothes.

Mr. Xu said angrily, "Ayu, you've come back from the brink of death, and instead of hurrying me out, you're still fussing over your tattered silk scarf!"

With a thick nasal tone, Xu's mother said, "If I don't look presentable, Xiaoyuer will think I'm unhappy. She'll see me soon, so I'm pushing her hard! Our Xiaoyuer probably doesn't know you've woken up yet. Who knows how happy she'll be later!"

"Okay, okay, push faster, even faster." Xu's father turned to Xu's mother and they discussed, "We absolutely must not cry in front of Ayu later, it will only make her feel worse."

Xu's mother: "Oh dear... don't cry, don't cry..."

The two bickered and argued, which seemed out of place in the elegant and quiet European castle, yet it was filled with love and happiness.

When they looked towards the doorway, they were all stunned.

When Ayu saw her parents, the fear and grievances she had kept hidden for so long finally burst forth. Her lips trembled, she looked up at the sky and burst into tears, then walked towards the two of them.

"Waaaaah... Mom and Dad... Waaaaah, I had such a long nightmare..."

My precious baby was crying so hard that Dad was so anxious he almost stood up and pushed the wheelchair himself, because Mom had already left him to hug Ah Yu.

"Oh dear, oh dear, my fish is suffering! It's alright, it's alright, Mommy's here..."

Mr. Xu smiled helplessly, opened his arms and said, "Come here, let Dad see where you've suffered..."

Ayu collapsed into her father's arms, babbling incoherently, looking utterly aggrieved, but unfortunately, no one could understand what she was saying.

Lin Xingmian followed Xu Zhiyu up. He watched the three of them reunite from afar. His sister was so heartbroken. He hesitated on the spot, feeling guilty and ashamed. After all, he was the one who had dragged her into this. He envied his sister for being able to hug her family, but he was also afraid that Uncle Xu would disapprove of his sister being with him because of this.

Xu Wenfan caught sight of a familiar figure at the door and greeted him warmly and generously, "Xingmian?"

His eyes crinkled with laughter: "You little rascal? You've been keeping a low profile..."

Lin Xingmian realized that Uncle Xu was referring to the time when he pretended to be pitiful and ate at the supermarket. He coughed awkwardly, walked over to them, and said with a blush, "It would be so good if Uncle could wake up."

My sister is finally a little happier.

He's happy as long as she's happy.

Xu Zhiyu was crying and sobbing. Unexpectedly, after crying on Xu Wenfan's lap for a while, she said "my legs are numb," then stood up, turned around, and buried herself in her younger brother's arms to cry again.

Xu's parents exchanged a glance, and Xu Wenfan looked at Lin Xingmian and said irritably, "I give up."

His words made everyone present laugh.

Xingmian pinched her sister's ear and whispered to her, "There won't be a next time."

Ah Yu wiped away her tears and softly replied, "From now on, I will cherish the days when you are by my side."

Lin Xingmian smiled faintly: "Okay."
