Saturday morning.
Inside the castle, Little Yuzu, who had just finished exercising, was taking a nap.
She lay on the bed in a starfish position, with a thin blanket around her waist.
A huge teddy bear lay horizontally on top of her head.
"Ring ring ring".
The phone rang, waking Xiaoyouzi up.
She groggily reached out, squinting and feeling around before finally finding her phone: "Hello?"
"Little Yuzu, are you awake?" It was Monica's voice on the other end of the phone.
Little Yuzu tried to open her eyes, but then closed them again, muttering, "I'm awake, I'm awake."
Her tone was dismissive, and Monica immediately recognized it: "Little Yuzu, did you know you were trending again last night?"
Although Xiaoyouzi doesn't like to promote herself, she rarely participates in variety shows and makes very few public appearances.
But she just happens to have a knack for trending on social media, something others can only envy.
And just because of a small thing, she's trending again.
Upon hearing this, Xiaoyouzi seemed to wake up: "What happened? How did I end up trending on social media?"
I carefully reviewed all the actions I've taken over the past two months.
Yes, there's absolutely no problem.
So what trending topics are you on?
Monica's tone wasn't serious; instead, she asked with a light laugh, "Yuzu, didn't you film a promotional video for the haunted house before?"
That time they went to a haunted house and made a mess of it, even "beating up" the NPCs, which was extremely bad. In the end, they agreed to the owner's request and filmed a Halloween promotional video.
The company is aware of this.
Little Yuzu frowned, tried hard to recall, but couldn't remember: "Ah, no, right?"
"Have you forgotten? You, Luo Li, and Bai Yu and the others."
After Monica's reminder, Xiaoyouzi immediately remembered: "Ah, I know, that Halloween promotional video."
"But they were all filmed last year. If they were going to be released, they would have been released long ago. Why should I be trending on social media now?" Xiaoyouzi asked, quite puzzled.
Monica then explained, "The park released short videos at the time, but they didn't buy any traffic, so very few people watched them and very few people knew about them."
"Yesterday, I don't know where your fans dug up the video from, and they even bought promotional material, and it suddenly went viral on the short video platform." Monica was woken up by a phone call last night and spent the whole night following the gossip and eating a lot of juicy gossip.
Little Yuzu overheard this and immediately said, "Fine, let's go ahead then. What do I need to do?"
Monica: "Little Yuzu, have you forgotten how long it's been since you last opened for business?"
Little Pomelo: ...
Yes, the last time I was active was when I auditioned for the role of a fairy child, and I got scolded and retorted.
No, it wasn't exactly business; it was just that I got into an argument with someone.
Later, I planned to post a Weibo during the Spring Festival, but I didn't because I played a little game of counter-strategy with my brothers.
Little Yuzu sighed silently, "Okay, I'll be in business right away."
“No, that’s not it.” Monica continued, “You haven’t been active for too long, your fans miss you. Several directors have sent you scripts for variety shows. Would you like to take a look?”
"Is it not good to appear on too many variety shows?" Xiaoyouzi asked, frowning.
People in the industry always say that appearing on variety shows is just a way to make money; it doesn't help hone acting skills and is just a quick way to make money.
Monica, however, seemed unconcerned, saying, "Others might be, but you're different. Your fans are eager for you to appear on screen."
"Then send me all the scripts for the variety shows, will I be doing them all by myself?" Xiaoyouzi asked as she took out her tablet.
Monica quickly sent over several variety show outlines: "Many of the variety shows they submitted are not suitable for you. I've selected a few for Luo Li, and these remaining ones might be more to your liking. They're all horror variety shows."
"Are there horror variety shows like this?" Xiaoyouzi usually watches lighthearted variety shows; everyone watches variety shows for fun.
I've never heard of anyone watching horror variety shows.
Monica explained, "Yes, there are haunted house shows, escape shows, and all-around horror variety shows. Oh, and there are also those paranormal variety shows from abroad, like going into haunted houses and stuff."
"Are there really people willing to die?" Little Yuzu's beautiful eyes widened.
Would anyone really go to a cemetery to commit suicide?
He brought trouble upon himself.
Just like that haunted house we filmed abroad before, bad things happened inside.
The magnetic field of such a house can easily create psychological suggestions in people, and being frightened by it may even terrify them.
Monica: ...
Calling it suicide wouldn't be entirely wrong.
“I sent you several, are you interested?” Monica asked.
As she picked out her grapefruit, Little Yuzi asked, "Am I going by myself?"
She has never done a variety show on her own; she always goes with her brother.
Monica said, "No, it's about going on a variety show with Luo Li. It would be better to pair you two together, because it would be dangerous for you to go alone."
So many of those who went were adults, so it was naturally better to have Luo Li with them, even though all of them combined couldn't compare to a little pomelo.
Everyone: Are you being polite?
The two discussed it for a while and then made a phone call to Zhao Bin and Luo Li.
The four of them started chatting together.
Luo Li asked, "Which variety show should we go on? Xiao Youzi can choose. I'll go with her."
"Have you chosen the pomelo yet?" Zhao Bin asked.
Monica shared the show in the group chat: "It's this show, an escape room/haunted house show. You guys can check out the first season, it's called 'Terror Escape,' it's really fun."
