Chapter 298 The Female Voice from the Tape Recorder

Little Pomelo: ...

She lowered her eyes and opened one drawer after another, the contents of which were in disarray.

Hearing Cheng Cheng ask this, Xiao Youzi paused and did not answer immediately: It seems that Brother Cheng Cheng has evolved after going back. He is much smarter and knows how to ask indirectly.

Not hearing Xiaoyouzi's reply, Cheng Cheng felt a pang of anxiety.

Just then, Little Yuzu spoke up: "They're not necessarily the same."

She didn't deny Cheng Cheng's words, but she also didn't express her own opinion.

Raising her eyes, Xiao Youzi stared at Cheng Cheng with her dark gaze and said in a sinister tone, "Maybe we'll get lucky and be assigned to the same group?"

How to describe that look in his eyes?

The unfamiliar yet distant feeling sent a chill down Cheng Cheng's spine.

Suddenly, Xiaoyouzi laughed: "Don't be afraid, Brother Chengcheng. Even if we are different, our mission is the same now."

That smile gave Cheng Cheng a terrifying feeling.

He rubbed the goosebumps off his body: "Little Yuzu, don't laugh like that..."

This isn't about whether kids are easy to fool; this is truly terrifying!

It was as if I was possessed by an evil spirit.

Little Yuzu didn't say anything: Hmm, the performance was spot on.

"Little Yuzu, say something." Cheng Cheng looked at Little Yuzu cautiously.

Little Yuzu suddenly burst into laughter: "Hahaha, Brother Cheng Cheng, you're such a coward!"

"No, not really," Cheng Cheng stammered.

He could only awkwardly change the subject: "By the way, little pomelo..."

"Hey~" Little Yuzi interrupted Cheng Cheng, "Brother Cheng Cheng, let's look for the exit first. Several minutes have passed already."

"Oh, right!" Cheng Cheng immediately remembered the mission. He squatted down and opened the solid wood cabinet door under the bookcase.

"Cough cough cough!"

Dust billowed out, and Cheng Cheng took two steps back; the air was filled with dust.

Meeting Xiaoyouzi's curious gaze, Cheng Cheng said awkwardly, "Xiaoyouzi, where do you want to look? I'll help you."

Xiao Youzi didn't intend to make things difficult for Cheng Cheng.

Her beautiful big eyes looked around, and suddenly her gaze fell on a small window.

The window was about 1.8 meters off the ground, with two iron bars and an opening window.

The window was just big enough for Xiaoyouzi to squeeze through, but its height was just right so that neither of them could reach it or see what was happening outside.

“Look here.”

Following the direction Xiaoyouzi pointed, Cheng Cheng also looked over.

He said somewhat awkwardly, "Let me find a ladder first, we can't reach this spot."

Little Pomelo: "Okay."

Cheng Cheng continued to roll towards the bed.

Little Yuzu opened every drawer of the desk and looked at them one by one.

Suddenly, her gaze was drawn to a spot in the bottom corner.

There lay there quietly, an old, worn-out radio.

This radio can be used to change channels and play cassette tapes.

Little Yuzu picked it up.

The radio had dark red marks on its worn-out body, and the antenna was broken.

Little Yuzu opened the cassette tape holder, and it was empty.

In other words, the radio is completely unusable.

Little Yuzu didn't pay it any mind, casually placed the radio on the table, and continued reading.

She took everything out of the drawer.

There was a piece of yellow kraft paper with a bunch of English words that the little pomelo couldn't understand written on it, and a symbol of a goat's horn was drawn at the end.

Frowning, Little Yuzu could only pile up everything she didn't understand to the side.

If I can't understand it myself, I have to find someone else to help me understand it!

She flipped down and pulled out a large cross.

The cross is made of silver, but it has been damaged by something, and the top part is now completely black.

After putting the cross down, Xiaoyouzi reluctantly reached into the cabinet and touched it.

Suddenly, she felt something touch the back of her hand.

"Huh?"

Little Yuzu suddenly squatted down and looked up at the top of the cabinet.

Sure enough, there was something stuck to the top of the first drawer.

She turned on her phone's light and shone it inside; it was a notebook.

"Cheng..." Xiaoyouzi was about to call Cheng Cheng when she suddenly seemed to remember something. Instead of making a sound immediately, she reached out and pried the notebook off.

Without knowing whether the other party was friend or foe, Xiaoyouzi dared not take the risk.

What if this is a crucial clue?

Standing up straight, Xiaoyouzi covered the notebook in her hand, preparing to open it and take a look.

"Sizzle sizzle..."

Just then, the sound of a radio suddenly rang out in the small space!

The sound was extremely harsh, as if the signal had been jammed.

"Holy crap!" Cheng Cheng was startled and quickly walked over to Xiao Youzi.

Seeing this, Xiaoyouzi quickly put the notebook away.

Neither of them dared to bang the radio; they could only stare at it intently.

After a buzzing sound lasted for ten seconds, a clear female voice came from inside: "Buzz... It's Sunday today, and Sam's condition is getting worse."

"Sizzle..."

After another series of buzzing sounds, the sound suddenly stopped and then started again.

This time, the voice became extremely panicked: "They've all disappeared! Everyone who went in has disappeared! What happened? Father, yes, go find Father Wenlang!"

"Sizzle..."

After repeating the process once more, a hoarse and terrifying female voice came from the radio: "The priest is useless, the holy water is fake, it's over, everything is over!"

Finally, with a high-pitched sound, the sound abruptly stopped, leaving only a long hissing sound.
