Bai Nankai was finally about to get his hands on someone else, but now he's been snatched away. He's starting to question his life choices.
His sharp gaze fell on Xiaoyouzi, suppressing his anger: "Little friend, this is an auction, not a joke. You can't just shout like that. Auctioneer, please continue."
Everyone saw that it was just a child and didn't think much of it.
"Whose child is this? Is no one watching him?"
"You scared me to death! I thought it was someone else!"
"Am I the only one who thinks this voice sounds familiar?"
They started talking quietly, but no one took Xiaoyouzi's words to heart.
Seeing this, the auctioneer was about to continue.
"Wait, aren't tickets the qualification to participate in the auction?" Si Jing spoke up when he saw that no one was listening to Xiao Youzi.
All eyes turned back to them.
Bai Nankai turned around impatiently, only to meet Si Jing's gaze.
His heart skipped a beat, and his mind raced as he tried to recall if he had done anything wrong.
Bai Nankai quickly calmed down and forced a smile: "Young Master Si, what's going on?"
Upon hearing that the boy's surname was Si, everyone's expression changed slightly.
This surname is rare; there's only one family with the surname Si in high society.
“We are also guests, is it okay for us to participate in the bidding? Why aren’t you listening to our bids?” Si Jing ignored him and fixed his cold gaze on the auctioneer in front of him.
Standing next to Si Jing, Xiao Youzi looked like an adorable and harmless child.
Si Jing reached out and picked her up: "Twenty million? We can afford the money!"
"Ah, okay." The auctioneer saw that Bai Nankai didn't dare to say much and could only glance at the people around him.
Everyone looked at Si Jing, their expressions varied.
Bai Nankai said to the auctioneer, "Twenty-five million."
Their auction is basically a stand-and-bid style; if it drags on any longer, there will be even more people here.
"Alright, Mr. Bai bids twenty-five million." The auctioneer pointed to Bai Nankai's side.
Seeing that Xiaoyouzi and the others actually bid, and that his father didn't dare to say anything, Bai Huai felt a little strange: "Dad is really something. He's so nice to outsiders, but so fierce to me. Humph."
No one paid any attention to his muttering.
Little Yuzi glanced back at Bai Huai before continuing, "Thirty million."
The painting in front of us is a lotus flower, painted by a famous master in ancient times. Little Yuzu likes it quite a bit just by looking at it.
Bai Nankai, who was planning to buy the painting as a gift: ...
This price is already too high; he simply can't afford it.
But that old man only liked this painter's paintings.
Seeing Bai Nankai's troubled expression, Bai Huai felt an intense urge to gnash her teeth at Xiao Youzi.
This kid is such an eyesore!
I noticed the burning gaze from the side.
Little Yuzi turned around and smiled at Bai Huai.
In Bai Huai's view, this was a blatant provocation!
Turning back, Xiaoyouzi looked at Bai Nankai and said, "Uncle, let's change to the next one. We didn't mean to steal your painting."
"Hmm, keep a close eye on your precious son, make sure he doesn't cause trouble anywhere." Si Jing glanced coldly at Bai Nankai, his eyes filled with hostility.
Now Bai Nankai finally understood why they had been trying to take his painting for no reason.
It's all thanks to my good son!
Bai Nankai looked at his son standing there with a grim expression: "You little brat!"
He cursed under his breath, as if he was about to make Bai Huai's buttocks bleed.
Without saying a word, Bai Huai ran away.
Bai Nankai, standing in front of the painting, had no choice but to wait.
Seeing that no one was bidding, the auctioneer picked up the gavel: "Thirty million for the first time, thirty million for the second time, thirty million for the third time."
Bai Nankai silently closed his eyes.
Bad luck.
"Sold!" The auctioneer struck the gavel, a formulaic smile on his face: "Congratulations to these two for winning our item. Please follow the staff to make payment. If payment is not made, it will be considered malicious price gouging, and the item will be sold to the second bidder."
The auctioneer's words were both congratulations and a reminder.
Little Yuzu curled her lips: "Don't worry, I won't blame you."
As she spoke, Xiaoyouzi pulled out a black card in everyone's sight: "Thirty million, just swipe the card."
The auctioneer was speechless.
Bai Nankai's pupils contracted, and then he sighed and left.
At this moment, the account manager from the venue jogged over: "Hello, you two, would you like to come with me to make the payment, or perhaps you'd like to take a look at some other items?"
"There's not much time left." Xiaoyouzi glanced at her smartwatch. "Let's just go pay."
The account manager nodded: "Okay, this way please."
"Hey, little pomelo."
Just as the group was about to head to the VIP lounge, they ran into Li Lan and her group.
Little Yuzi's eyes lit up: "Aunt Li, you're here!"
"What's going on with you two?" Li Lan's gaze swept over the two of them, then settled on the account manager.
Si Jing calmly said, "I just took a picture of a painting at random. Now I'll go pay for it."
"Let's go together then," Li Lan said, intending to go with Xiao Youzi to prevent her from being deceived.
Little Yuzu said with a smile, "Okay, but Aunt Li, aren't you going to watch the auction?"
"It's alright, everything's fine." Li Lan chose to follow Xiao Youzi and said to the deputy curator beside her, "You take care of the children."
"No!" Mu Siyu clenched her little fists tightly: "Let's all go with Xiaoyouzi."
As she spoke, Mu Siyu ran to Xiaoyouzi's side and hugged her arm: "Hmph, don't even think about leaving us behind!"
