Chapter 59 The Down-on-His-Luck Axe Man

Inside the hospital corridor.

The pungent smell of disinfectant hit my head, accompanied by a chilling gust of wind.

It was like stepping into an ice cave, with a chilling coldness seeping in.

Luo Li felt a chill run down her spine as she stood under the flashing lights.

The light and shadows falling on his face were so intense that even he himself would be startled by his own reflection in the mirror.

"Brother, there was no screaming or scary sound effects."

Little Yuzu noticed earlier that, unlike other haunted houses, this one was unusually quiet.

It's like an immersive escape room game.

But the eerie and terrifying atmosphere, the air filled with the mingled smells of blood and disinfectant.

It's even scarier than a haunted house with sounds.

Luo Li nodded: "I noticed too, but where are they?"

"I don't know, this place feels more like a separate space."

Just then, another gust of wind blew by.

Luo Li shivered from the wind.

Wait, why is there cold air in the hospital?

Surprised and uncertain, Luo Li looked around, wondering where the wind was coming from.

Little Yuzu touched her light, flowing hair and pointed to a large window that had appeared at the end of the corridor: "It's the wind blowing in from over there."

The window appeared suddenly; it was about two meters wide and one and a half meters high, and it had bloody handprints on it.

Outside, there were dark, invisible walls.

This haunted house is two stories high.

The wind must be blowing from some kind of equipment.

Seeing that Xiaoyouzi was so calm, Luo Li forced herself to remain composed and asked, "Isn't Xiaoyouzi scared?"

Little Yuzu chuckled and straightened her cat ears that were askew on her head: "Brother, have you forgotten what I do? It's impossible for me to be afraid."

"Besides, it's all fake anyway, so let's just have some fun."

Luo Li gave Xiao Youzi a deep look.

Even though he knew it was fake, he still felt terrified.

Patting Luo Li's waist, Xiao Youzi said, "Brother, let's explore the corridor first."

Based on current information, this corridor is randomized.

In other words, the corridor can be moved, so we need to look for clues first.

"OK."

Little Yuzu said, "It's an immersive haunted house adventure."

Luo Li took a deep breath and put herself into the role of the explorer.

He first walked to the trolley, squatted down, and picked up an unbroken test tube from the ground.

The test tube contains a pale blue liquid.

"What's this?"

Little Yuzu leaned closer to take a look and saw a string of strange symbols: "What are these symbols?"

"This is in English. You should go to school now."

Luo Li patted Xiao Youzi's head, then looked at it carefully: "I don't understand the technical terms either."

"Then you've wasted your time going to school?"

Luo Li: ...

Suddenly I don't want to talk to that bratty kid anymore.

How can he explain to Xiaoyouzi that it's not that he's bad at it, but that he just can't learn it?

Seeing that her brother was speechless, Xiaoyouzi opened the blue potion and smelled it: "It's blueberry juice."

"I wonder if I can drink it?" Little Yuzu tilted her head back, wanting to pour it into her mouth.

Luo Li reached out to stop her: "You're not allowed to drink it, it's a prop."

Okay.

Little Yuzu carefully put away the test tubes and continued looking through them.

"The ground was covered in chicken blood."

Luo Li sighed: "Little Youzi, don't treat this like chicken blood. Treat it like human blood. A haunted house can't actually use human blood."

“Okay, okay, there’s a lot of human blood here, and long drag marks. Someone must have been injured and dragged somewhere.” Little Yuzu said it all in a very logical way.

Luo Li continued, "The place where the bloodstains disappeared is the end, and now both sides of the corridor have no way out, so we may have to wait for the maze to move again."

"Um."

The two spent a long time looking around the corridor, and the only props they collected so far were a tattered book and a can of reagent.

I don't know what it will be used for later.

After looking around the corridor, Luo Li suggested, "Let's go take a look at that room with the light on."

The room with the lights on isn't far from here; it's probably the room before the one at the far end.

The brother and sister walked over, and Xiaoyouzi frowned: "This looks like an old hospital."

"really."

At first it was too dark to see clearly, but now I can see a small part of it.

Brick chips were scattered everywhere, the yellow wooden door was covered in rust, and the hardware at the joints of the door was broken at the top.

The door creaked as the wind blew.

Under the dim, glaring light, the bloodstains on the faded iron sign were clearly visible.

The smell of rust mixed with the stench of blood is intoxicating.

Luo Li read aloud from the side: "Sampling room."

Pushing open the door, a sinister and eerie atmosphere rushed out.

There were no lights inside, so I had no idea what was hidden in the shadows.

"Find the light first."

Luo Li went in first, but came out after only a few steps: "It's a bit cold."

"I'll go."

Little Yuzu walked in without changing her expression.

The room was pitch black. Xiaoyouzi ran her hand across the muddy wall, then sniffed: "A bloody smell."

"I don't know what's inside."

Luo Li gritted her teeth at the door and went inside.

The brother and sister rubbed against the wall.

"Clatter".

The dim yellow light flickered for a moment before finally turning on.

The light beam was not strong enough to clearly see the interior of the sampling room.

A row of glass containers filled with blood.

Each vessel is one meter high and ten centimeters wide.

A strong, pungent smell of blood filled the air, mixed with the stench of rotting corpses.
