159. Chapter 159: No Way Back

Everyone sat down by the fire and rested for a night. The next morning they hurried on their journey again. On the third night, a fire appeared again not far away.

Yin Yusheng was so tired that he didn't even want to say a word. He sat down on the ground and waved to the little zombie beside him: "Little brat, hurry up and get me a water bottle."

The little zombie looked at him unhappily, but finally took out a water bottle from his backpack and handed it to him.

Compared to him, the others seemed much calmer and didn't even take a breath.

After drinking half a bottle of water, Yin Yusheng finally came back to life and sat up straight.

Miao Xiaoling looked at him with a smile: "Master Yin's physique is not very good, he still needs to exercise more."

After two days and one night of getting along, they became quite familiar with each other.

Yin Yusheng waved his hand: "I even went to exercise before coming here, but it didn't help. Anyone would be tired if they came here."

Walking in the desert under the scorching sun every day and sleeping on the ground at night would make robots useless.

"We are used to it and often travel around the world."

The person who spoke was Guo Jiming. He had rarely spoken in their short time together, but now he took the initiative to talk.

"You've worked hard, too." Yin Yusheng responded, then turned to look at Yu Qing and asked, "Miss Yu, how many days will it take us to arrive?"

This is what everyone wants to know. After all, no matter how strong one's physique is, one cannot withstand such a long journey every day, and Cao Huaqing and his men have very few supplies left.

During the day, I met a few mummies. Yu Qing was wiping her brush. When she heard this, she raised her eyes and said, "Maybe tomorrow, it will be here."

Hearing that it would arrive tomorrow, Tian Xiaoling cooked noodles much faster.

Although Miss Yu said maybe, she was sure it would arrive tomorrow.

As for the reason... Tian Xiaoling was a little dazed. Why did she feel that she would arrive at a place tomorrow?

Since she couldn't figure it out, she simply stopped thinking about it and took the freshly cooked noodles to give to Yu Qing.

On the side, Cao Huaqing sat by the fire, patiently recording what he had seen and felt over the past two days.

Yin Yusheng happily squatted beside the little zombie, watching him holding a dry branch and writing on the desert, occasionally pausing for two seconds, then crossing it out and rewriting it with his hand.

Qin Zhi pinched his eyebrows, it seemed that the closer he got to his destination, the more his mind was affected.

He didn't have this feeling before, but now he feels more and more useless, and even has the urge to be angry.

"Mr. Qin."

Qin Zhi opened his eyes and saw Yu Qing sitting over to him. He was a little surprised: "What's wrong?"

Yu Qing ate instant noodles without looking at him. "If your soul is restored, your personality might change, or even become a completely unfamiliar person to you, would you still be willing to retrieve that soul?"

Qin Zhi's expression remained normal. All the things that had been wrong over the past few days were telling him something: "Will it affect my memory?"

"Won't."

"That's okay." Qin Zhi nodded slightly and said calmly, "As long as I can remember everything, my personality won't get any worse even if it changes."

Although that violent impulse was not very pleasant, he could feel that the hostility was directed at himself, and he had no intention of hurting others.

I just simply...dislike my own body.

Maybe after becoming a normal person, you will feel disappointed with your current useless body. This should be normal behavior. No matter what, it is enough as long as your three views remain unchanged.

He looked up at the starry sky, not noticing the slightly hesitant look in Yu Qing's eyes beside him. She stared at him for a long time before sighing and looking away.

After resting in this camp for one night, everyone put on their much lighter backpacks early the next morning and set out again on the journey to find the way back.

Finally, at ten ten in the morning, a corner of an unknown object appeared on the sand right in front of us. The sunlight reflected on it, stinging our eyes.

Cao Huaqing was the first to rush forward, took off his backpack, bent down, and knelt on the ground, staring at the triangle with his bright eyes.

"Teacher! What are you doing?" Tian Xiaoling hurriedly went over to support him, but was pushed away by Cao Huaqing. He pointed at the triangle, his excitement beyond words.

Guo Jiming, who had followed behind, looked at the triangle and said in surprise, "Is this... a tomb?"

Cao Huaqing, who finally came to his senses, nodded quickly and carefully dug up the sand with his hands. The revealed triangle glowed with golden light.

He originally thought he would return home today, but unexpectedly, instead of finding the way out, he found the mausoleum that they had always had no clue about.

God will not let down those who work hard!

Yin Yusheng looked at the five excited people over there, frowned and asked Yu Qing: "Is this really a mausoleum?"

Yu Qing nodded: "I guess so."

Yin Yusheng opened his mouth, but no words came out.

Ever since he met Cao Huaqing and his five companions, he had been wondering why Miss Yu said she would lead them to find the way home, when it was obvious that Miss Yu was not going back.

It was only just now that a light bulb suddenly flashed in his confused mind. He got off the plane with Miss Yu and experienced the unpleasant scene again.

Then, could it be that Cao Huaqing and others are also the reappearance of an illusion... In fact, they do not exist.

Yu Qing and Qin Zhi walked over there, probably to find a way in.

The little zombie stood beside Yin Yusheng's legs and patted his legs gently, as if asking him what was wrong.

Yin Yusheng shook his head, then nodded in confusion and said something incomprehensible: "I remember who he is."

He always felt that the name Cao Huaqing sounded familiar, as if he had heard it somewhere.

Only now did I finally remember that Cao Huaqing was a famous archaeologist.

At the age of 55, he led four students and an archaeological team to the desert to search for someone's tomb. Later, he and the students disappeared.

The archaeological team sent people to look for them for more than a month, but they still couldn't find Cao Huaqing and others. Everyone said that Cao Huaqing and his students were gone.

With so little supplies, how could five ordinary people survive in the desert for more than a month?

Cao Huaqing and his companions have been missing for a total of eighteen years.

Yin Yusheng knew about this because his grandfather had a hobby of collecting old newspapers. He saw it by chance and felt it was a pity so he asked about it.

Because Cao Huaqing was a famous archaeologist in history and made many contributions to the country during his career, his disappearance caused a great sensation.

At that time, some people even spontaneously formed a team and were willing to go to the desert to search for Cao Huaqing and the other four people, but they all returned empty-handed, and the matter gradually faded away.

so……

Yin Yusheng looked at the few people in the distance who were still excited with an unclear look in his eyes.

This wasn't the way home, but Yu Qing hadn't told them the reason, because they simply...

There's no going back.
