When the bright light faded, the soft sunlight reappeared in Wu Yu's eyes. Looking around, he saw that the surroundings were in complete disarray.
Wu Yu and his two companions were suspended in mid-air, with no trace of human activity visible, and only a layer of scorched earth beneath their feet.
No wonder there are so few pedestrians on the road. This place has long been turned into a death zone. Someone has set up a trap here, just waiting for them to fall into it.
Looking at Joyce's shocked and furious expression, Wu Yu saw her staring at Violet with undisguised rage, as if she wanted to tear her apart.
Wu Yu had always known why Joyce was following him, but revenge was her prerogative, and Wu Yu felt that she couldn't possibly pose a threat to Violet, so he let her stay with him.
I just didn't expect Joyce to be so decisive, and the attack she launched was definitely not something she could have accomplished on her own.
Is it all those little tricks I did along the way? Or is it all the preparation I did over the past year?
Joyce has done a great job to get this far, but unfortunately, she has to face Violet, who has been preparing for this for ten thousand years.
Wu Yu stood there quietly, not intending to interfere. Before he could confirm with his own eyes that Violet could save the world, he just wanted to lie on the beach like a salted fish. After all, he knew he didn't have the power to change the outcome, so he shouldn't cause trouble for those who were working hard.
Violet glanced at Joyce indifferently; she was no opponent she needed to care about. So she simply flicked her finger, the force just enough to knock Joyce unconscious, and then trapped her inside a sealed black sphere.
"Killing her would be the most efficient move, right?" Wu Yu asked tentatively. He had thought that Violet's willpower was absolutely rational, but now it seemed that there was still a difference.
“She is not someone who needs to be sacrificed,” Violet replied calmly.
Wu Yu didn't ask any further questions. He rested his head on his hands, looked up at the sky, and reminded him, "They're here?"
If we were to say what power Wu Yu is most sensitive to right now, it would undoubtedly be the power of space.
Wu Yu could clearly sense that dozens of spatial arrays were being constructed in all directions.
Violet didn't try to intercept them; she just waited quietly, seemingly enjoying the pre-battle tranquility.
Surprisingly, the first to arrive were not members of the Apocalypse Society.
Dressed in magnificent attire, Phillis emerged from the teleportation array surrounded by a throng of people. Behind her stood orcs, elves, and dragons; all the surviving races of this world were now under her leadership.
Moreover, there were several of Wu Yu's acquaintances among them, including the Elf Queen and Virginia. It seemed that all the big shots in the Anti-Demon Alliance had come out in full force.
Philliss glanced at Wu Yu with a complicated expression. She probably knew that the guests had not all arrived yet, so she took the opportunity to greet Wu Yu.
"Did you ultimately choose her?"
"Don't get me wrong, I'm just a spectator. You guys fight, just don't drag me into this." Wu Yu explained as he distanced himself from Violet.
Wu Yu didn't know how high the battle would escalate, but if he got caught in the crossfire, it would be something he couldn't handle with his fifth-tier strength.
However, Wu Yu wouldn't run far; standing slightly to the side should be enough.
Wu Yu was not originally able to fly, and he didn't know what kind of magic Violet had cast on him, but he was now able to levitate. So he controlled his body to land on the ground, ready to watch the battle from there.
“But you’ve already given up on me, haven’t you?” Phillis said bluntly, giving Wu Yu no chance to brush him off.
"I'm sorry, I've let you down." Wu Yu could only say a few words, because apart from Violet's yet-to-be-revealed salvation plan, Wu Yu had absolutely no interest in other people's plans to preserve the flame, and had no interest in getting involved.
Philliss has always been a very good person to him in this world, but Violet and he also have a good relationship, otherwise, given their friendship, it wouldn't be impossible for her to help him out.
"Then you shall remain neutral. If you do not intend to become my enemy, I do not wish to be your enemy either." Phillis did not try to persuade him further. She possessed the ability to interpret emotions. Looking at the pure white light behind Wu Yu, she could understand that Wu Yu no longer had any attachment to this world.
“Violet, you have broken the seal on the demons, plunging the world into crisis. If you are willing to surrender, we can give you a chance to explain yourself; otherwise, we will have no choice but to kill you on the spot,” Philliss pronounced his judgment on Violet.
“I am guilty. If you think you can represent this world, then come and kill me,” Violet said without fear.
"Move! Kill them on the spot!" Upon seeing this, Phillis immediately issued the order.
Without further ado, everyone mobilized their energy at the same time and launched an attack on Violet.
The twenty-odd people behind Phillis were all eighth-tier epics. As the strongest beings in the world, they possessed immense power capable of destroying the world with every move they made. And their combined attack this time was even more overwhelming.
Multiple energies converge and merge in the air, eventually condensing into a single point, before beginning to expand again.
Violet acted decisively, leaping to the singularity just before the energy went berserk.
The Three Thousand Laws manifested behind her, each a great path leading directly to the end of truth. All things in heaven and earth seemed to submit to her. Violet extended her small, jade-like hand and gently grasped it.
