“Of course I won’t refuse.” Virginia blinked, her words completely unpretentious.
Wu Yu's heart trembled. Could this be what they call being out of step with the world?
No, no matter how a person grows up, it is absolutely impossible for them to become like her. She is definitely faking it.
A surge of anger rose in Wu Yu's heart.
In his mind, Jack had reached the pinnacle of human morality. Going any further, he was no longer within the realm of humanity; he was simply a machine with a pre-programmed sequence of actions. Wu Yu felt that the justice Jack had once displayed had been trampled upon by others.
Wu Yu, who was overly kind, didn't care, but he couldn't stand the hypocrite.
"You like to pretend, don't you!" Wu Yu sneered as he extended his right hand toward Virginia.
Even after crossing the line of intimacy between men and women, Virginia did not resist at all. Wu Yu helped her fasten the buttons she had just unbuttoned while carefully observing the changes in her expression.
She showed no reaction, neither displaying the shyness of an ordinary woman nor anger at Wu Yu's offense; she seemed to have no concept of the difference between men and women.
As the buttons were fastened, Wu Yu became increasingly agitated. He was already used to greeting others with smiles, but why was he now so eager to tear off her mask?
His detached mind was stirred; he needed to resolve all his doubts today. "Virginia, I have a request."
"Please speak." It was that kind of reply without hesitation.
Here it comes. Will Wu Yu now deny her way of dealing with the world and fulfill all other people's requests? This way of living is truly laughable.
"I hope you..." Wu Yu said, word by word.
"Stop your actions, or I will take coercive measures." A stern voice rang in Wu Yu's mind. The being capable of doing this was a Saint-level being.
Wu Yu looked around calmly, but couldn't find any trace of the person.
“Sir, please repeat that. I didn’t hear you clearly just now.” Virginia waited patiently.
"Oh, I just wanted you to treat me to dinner tomorrow afternoon around this time. I'm almost out of money." Wu Yu changed what he was going to say into a less unreasonable request.
There was no attack, so it seems the request was within the permissible range of the person who had just spoken in his mind.
“Okay, I’ll wait for you at the flower shop tomorrow,” Virginia replied.
"Alright, alright, you should go back now. I still have some small things to take care of here," Wu Yu urged. Although he couldn't stand Virginia's behavior at all, there was no need to rush things.
Virginia didn't linger there any longer; she left with light steps.
Wu Yu, however, chose to stay there. He was waiting, as there was a high probability that the person who had just delivered the message to him would appear.
"Wu Yu, the Dragon Slayer, it's our first meeting. I'm very grateful that you didn't act impulsively just now." The voice came from all directions, making it impossible to determine the origin of the person.
However, since it wasn't in front of him, it must be behind him. Wu Yu suddenly turned around, and a figure appeared in the shadows.
They slowly emerged from the shadows.
"rustle"
Four iron chains were wrapped around the man's limbs and then extended out, all hanging down to the ground. Each step produced a metallic scraping sound, but the sound only reached Wu Yu's ears when he turned around.
It was a being dressed in black armor, with a black helmet with two horns covering the person's entire head, leaving only a slit for the eyes, making him look ferocious and terrifying.
This guy is dangerous!
Wu Yu made a judgment in his mind. He couldn't sense the other party's strength, but in this other world, anyone dressed in such a flashy way must have some strength to back them up. And Wu Yu couldn't beat anyone who was even slightly stronger.
"Impulsive? Do you know what I was about to say?" Wu Yu asked casually.
"I don't know, but I can guess. If you're even capable of saying something like that, it's worth my reminder. Those who know, know; those who don't, can't deduce anything from my words." The man wasn't as unapproachable as he appeared; he spoke to Wu Yu in a very calm tone.
"So you're an expert too!" Wu Yu exclaimed in realization.
"You know who I am, so could you please tell me your identity?" Wu Yu asked without much hope.
"Okay, but let me finish my current work first." And then they actually agreed.
The chained man slowly walked past Wu Yu and stopped in front of the five thugs.
“Zheng”.
The chained man flung his cloak back, and five golden chains shot out from within, lunging at the thugs like living creatures.
Five chains pierced the temples of the five men, then emerged from the other end. With a tug, the chains were pulled back, and at the front of the chains, it seemed as if some small orbs of light were attached.
The chains were retracted into the cloak, the chained man clapped his hands, and turned back.
"What did you do?" Wu Yu couldn't figure out what had happened.
"Don't worry, they are not in mortal danger. I only damaged a part of their souls, specifically a decrease in their intelligence," the chained man replied.
Wow, that's a real blow to your wits, that's really ruthless. Just thinking about how he was drooling and staring blankly, Wu Yu felt a chill run down his spine.
“Strictly speaking, they didn’t inflict any specific harm on Virginia. Isn’t your punishment a bit too harsh?” Wu Yu said, not afraid of offending the other party.
