Who is the Sword Saint?
Ignoring the powerful external forces, his true human nature was revealed. A gentleman, a good-natured person, and a law-abiding citizen—these were the labels Wu Yu had given him in their brief encounter.
What are the characteristics of these people? They all particularly like to reason, and no matter who they are dealing with, they prefer to solve problems by reasoning.
Although they certainly wouldn't give up using force, Wu Yu would never push them to that point.
This coma was entirely within Wu Yu's calculations.
If Wu Yu really defeats the Sword Saint, what kind of existence the Sword Saint will imagine himself to be is completely beyond Wu Yu's control. Moreover, Wu Yu will have to suffer the backlash from the system, which is entirely detrimental!
A seventh-tier legendary figure with some secrets—this was the best identity Wu Yu could hope for. Ordinary people couldn't afford to offend him, and big shots didn't care. This way, he could live a good life in this other world.
After all, he was physically transported, not through a soul transfer. That blank past was a mystery he could never shake off. If he were truly being watched by these big shots, Wu Yu feared he wouldn't even be able to sleep peacefully.
Giving up after just a couple of casual moves? Putting aside whether the Sword Saint could tell he was acting, Wu Yu didn't want word to get out that he was a pushover. After all, there were still some criminals eyeing his dragon treasure, and appearing too weak would only invite trouble.
He perfectly parried the Sword Saint's first attack, then fell into a deep sleep, ending the duel in a shameless way, which both made others not dare to underestimate him and also avoided determining the final winner.
The Sword Saint came to duel, not to kill. He wouldn't just take the opportunity to cut himself while he was unconscious, especially since the passive skill [Dodge] can still be used even when unconscious.
If the Sword Saint truly intended to kill, Wu Yu could immediately regain his senses. After confirming that he possessed the ability to slay an eighth-tier epic, he was also mentally prepared to overturn the table.
As for what to do if the Sword Saint comes knocking again in the future? Then just use the same trick again. As long as you don't want to kill me, Wu Yu can keep trying to extort money from me every day without getting annoyed. Besides, Wu Yu isn't a member of the three major organizations, so he won't do anything bad. I guess the Sword Saint will give up after a few visits.
Although sleeping on the ground could easily make her catch a cold, with Violet by her side, she couldn't bear to let herself sleep in the open.
With the mindset that shamelessness is invincible, coupled with the mental strain the system had just inflicted, Wu Yu was sleeping very soundly and peacefully, with faint snores that could be clearly heard.
"What?" The Sword Saint was a little at a loss. Sleeping during a duel was something he had never encountered before, even though he was a veteran of many battles.
Moreover, the Sword Saint couldn't easily startle Wu Yu, in case Wu Yu had some hidden ailment. The Sword Saint didn't want to actually hurt Wu Yu.
Although he hadn't been at a disadvantage in that last sword strike, he hadn't gained any advantage either. Just from that one clash, the Sword Saint knew that Wu Yu was a swordsman no less skilled than himself. Perhaps the next move would determine the winner. But Wu Yu had actually fallen asleep, which puzzled the Sword Saint greatly, and made him feel incredibly itchy.
It has been a long time since he has encountered an opponent who can rival his swordsmanship. After becoming a saint, battles have become much less interesting. The competition is now more about the strength of energy, the calculation of mental power, and the application of laws.
Although the skill will not be discarded, its role is indeed not significant. Even if he is invincible in one-on-one combat entirely due to his unpredictable swordsmanship, the decisive factor in the battle is still the power inherent in the eighth-tier epic itself.
It was a lucky thing for the Sword Saint to meet a worthy opponent. If Wu Yu was really harmless, he had planned to spar with Wu Yu a few more times to improve his sword skills. Now it seemed that he would not have that opportunity. Wu Yu had pretended to be dead and refused to duel. He couldn't force Wu Yu to fight him.
"Wu Yu!" Seeing Wu Yu fall to the ground, Violet was no longer as calm as the Sword Saint. She was no longer afraid that the Sword Saint was a villain who came to cause trouble. She ran back to Wu Yu's side and touched his body with her small hands, checking his physical condition.
"He's alright, he just fainted. It seems to be due to mental exhaustion, but I have no way of knowing the truth." Seeing that the little girl was a bit flustered, the Sword Saint reminded her.
“I understand.” Violet nodded, believing the Sword Saint’s words, and then said without any hesitation, “Help me carry him inside.”
"Miss, I just attacked your friend, and you actually want my help?" The Sword Saint was surprised at first, then asked curiously.
“You’re a good person, my brother said so,” Violet replied calmly, having no doubt about Jack’s judgment.
"So you knew about my relationship with Jack, Miss Violet." The Sword Saint smiled, his gaze towards Violet no longer concealing its warmth.
The Sword Saint walked over and hoisted Wu Yu onto his shoulder, then gestured for Violet to proceed.
Violet opened the door and, with the Sword Saint by her side, led Wu Yu to his bed. After closing the door, the two went to the living room.
“You traveled with my brother for a time, and you even taught him swordsmanship.” Violet showed a nostalgic look as she recalled the past.
"Jack was the most talented person I've ever met. His talent even surpassed mine. I deeply regret his death." The Sword Saint also showed sadness when he mentioned Jack. The two were not just casual acquaintances.
“It’s all in the past now.” Violet closed her eyes and sighed. “My brother certainly wouldn’t want his death to cause trouble for others.”
