"What kind of evil magic is this? Are you a member of some cult?" Benson looked at Wu Yu with shock and anger, clutching his empty sleeve as he spoke in a trembling voice.
Wu Yu looked at Benson, who was covered in sweat from the pain, his sleeves stained crimson with blood. However, Wu Yu's emotional response this time was not as strong as when he killed those horses.
When did I become able to hurt others without hesitation?
Is it because he has already witnessed death? Or is it because of the murderous intent that keeps swirling in his mind?
But now is not the time to ponder such useless questions.
Wu Yu stepped forward, pointed his sword at Benson, and asked in an icy tone, "Where is Violet?"
Wu Yu was as cold-blooded as a heartless killer, and his words carried an air of undeniable authority.
Benson even felt that if he didn't answer honestly, the sword would decisively pierce his heart.
So he dared not utter any more complaints and could only honestly confess, "Didn't I tell you? Violet is resting in her room."
Wu Yu's sword didn't move away; instead, it moved an inch closer and pierced Benson's throat.
It was just a small wound, with only a little blood seeping out, but everyone present couldn't help but hold their breath. At this moment, no one wanted Benson to die at Wu Yu's hands.
"Young man, show mercy when you can. If you really kill a nobleman in front of me, I guarantee that there will be no place for you in the empire." Only the sheriff dared to speak up and advise him.
Wu Yu tilted his head, glanced indifferently at the guy who was giving orders arbitrarily, and waited quietly for his reaction without saying a word.
Stared at by Wu Yu with eyes that seemed to look at a dead man, the sheriff immediately cowered and dared not look at Benson, who looked like he was asking for help. He quickly picked up his wine glass to cover up his guilty conscience.
A sense of triumph welled up in Wu Yu's heart, a feeling of satisfaction that came from a successful prank. He smiled silently and then withdrew his sword.
Wu Yu had no intention of killing Benson. For him, the idea that killing was wrong had been with him for twenty years. Before his rationality collapsed, he did not intend to trample on his past law-abiding self.
The information Benson revealed when he was confident of victory was the same as the response he gave under the threat of death, so Wu Yu believed him.
We must go find Violet now.
Wu Yu had never felt such disgust for this ridiculously large manor. At this moment, he was about two hundred meters away from Violet's room. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem, but now Wu Yu was already suffering from the backlash of using his skill.
No part of his body was injured, but he had lost too much blood, and waves of dizziness were eroding his exhausted spirit.
But Wu Yu cannot fall now. Although Benson has already lost, if Wu Yu loses consciousness now, the situation will be reversed instantly.
"Someone from your group, come and stop Benson's bleeding and treat his wounds."
Wu Yu gave a brief explanation, then slowly walked towards the door with a heavy gait.
Even though Wu Yu was incredibly slow, no one present rushed to intercept this man exuding murderous intent. It wasn't until Wu Yu disappeared from the doorway that the priestess seemed to remember something, and she hurriedly ran to Benson's side to use her divine magic to heal his wounds.
Arriving at Violet's door, Wu Yu didn't knock but pushed the door open and entered.
Because Violet has difficulty moving around, her room is left unlocked so that servants can easily attend to her. Wu Yu learned this information when he was chatting with Jack in the past.
Upon entering the room, Wu Yu pressed a switch by the door, and the room was illuminated by a magical lamp. This shows that Jack really treats Violet well, allowing her to use such expensive items at will.
Once inside the room, Wu Yu saw Violet sleeping peacefully on the bed, her silver hair spread out like clouds. Wu Yu's gaze swept over her butterfly-like eyelashes and landed on her exquisitely beautiful face, which seemed to have been crafted by the hand of God. He couldn't help but catch his breath. With such a sleeping beauty, what man would want to disturb her slumber?
But under the shadow of that murderous intent, Wu Yu's rationality seemed to be forced to surface. Although he was still amazed by Violet's stunning beauty, he felt no desire. So, as planned, Wu Yu called out in his gentlest tone...
"Violet, wake up, I need your help."
Violet trembled slightly like a startled animal, then frowned, propped herself up on the bed with one hand, and rubbed her sleepy eyes.
Wu Yu glanced at Violet, who was wearing a white silk nightgown, and was relieved that her nightgown was relatively conservative and did not reveal anything, otherwise Wu Yu would have been embarrassed.
Wu Yu's fierce gaze met Violet's bewildered eyes, and both of them were visibly stunned for a moment.
Then Wu Yu saw Violet's body tremble several times more violently than before. She seemed to be trying to jump off the bed, but clearly failed.
Violet quickly grabbed the button next to her pillow, pressed it, then covered herself with the blanket, leaning back in fear until she reached the bedside table.
Wu Yu tried to take a step forward, which made Violet even more frightened; her hands, gripping the blanket, were trembling.
Seeing this, Wu Yu quickly took a step back, and Violet's reaction calmed down a bit.
