This book is now complete. It was a bit rushed, and there are many things I wanted to write about that I didn't get to describe. The Demon King's scheming, Jerry's revenge, the princess gaining feelings, Evans using money to intervene in the war, and Virginia finding her true self—I'm sorry, these subplots may not be able to be written.
However, this ending was predetermined from the beginning.
This book can be considered a semi-invincible story, as Wu Yu possessed the strongest power from the very beginning.
In this setting, if the protagonist's ultimate goal is to save the world, that would be incredibly boring. Using power that isn't earned through effort to save the world isn't cool at all.
So I had a new idea: since the power was already at its limit from the beginning, all the protagonist needed to explore was his own heart.
Stay true to yourself amidst external temptations, and find meaning in life amidst confusion.
In the end, the protagonist gave up supreme power and chose a short, ordinary life of a hundred years. This may seem foolish to others, but the protagonist was just an ordinary person who only longed for a carefree life. He wavered at times, but was ultimately moved by Violet's determination to give up everything to protect the world.
To remain calm and say no to worldly splendor is a state of mind that the author yearns for, and this protagonist can be seen as a kind of aspiration of the author.
As for Violet, she represents the author's vision of a true hero who saves the vast majority of people. What deserves praise is not her abilities, but her determination to achieve her goal at the cost of everything.
What happiness it is to have a goal to strive for throughout one's life! She possessed the faith that modern people lack, the faith that Wu Yu had been searching for. So even though she didn't ask Wu Yu for help in the end, she still moved him.
Well, this is basically just a work for the author to enjoy himself, so it's no surprise that it did poorly.
However, the next book is the author's masterpiece, and I hope all readers will support it.
