Chapter Thirteen: The Ring



Jack patted Violet's head again, then returned to his seat and patiently waited for lunch to begin.

However, Benson entered before the servants.

Looking at his limping gait, Wu Yu couldn't help but recall his previous questions, but the past three days had been too peaceful, and he hadn't obtained any useful information.

Benson glanced at Jack, who was seated at the head of the table, but this time he had no questions. After taking his seat, he spoke casually, like a normal family member.

"Jack, I heard you're going on another long trip?"

Faced with such a simple greeting, Jack retorted directly, "Uncle Benson, I didn't inform you of my whereabouts in advance, did I? Your information network is truly impressive!"

"Hehe." Benson's smile froze, but he still tried his best to pretend he didn't care and said, "Jack, you're my nephew, isn't it only natural that I care about your whereabouts? You'd better be careful on the road."

"Watch out for whom? Watch out for yourself?" Jack asked bluntly.

"Of course not," Benson quickly denied. "I was just giving you a friendly reminder. Don't take it too seriously. It's best if nothing happens."

“Uncle Benson, don’t worry, I’ll be fine. You can put your worries on someone else,” Jack said meaningfully.

"Then I look forward to your return," Benson said with a forced smile.

"Yes, I will. I'll leave the manor to you for now. I'll also ask you to help me prepare for my father's memorial service. I hope that I can pay my respects to his spirit as soon as I inherit the title." Jack was making arrangements for what would happen after he left.

"Don't worry, I will definitely prepare the most solemn memorial service for you." Benson said coldly to Jack, who was pointing fingers at him.
