"Everyone, let's speed things up and head towards the capital!" Wu Yu was in high spirits at this moment, and his slogans were even louder.
······
"Have you heard? The evil dragon in the Evil Dragon Mountain Range has been killed."
"Hiss, who is so powerful? That evil dragon has been entrenched in the Evil Dragon Mountain Range for thousands of years. Countless powerful figures have fallen at his hands, and even the empire can't do anything about him. Who else has this ability?"
"Never heard of him, but it is said that the person has black hair and black eyes, and should be a descendant of an Eastern race. He carries a sword and has lost his left hand."
"The Eastern Clan, aren't they all terrible at aptitude and haven't produced any outstanding figures in a long time? To kill the evil dragon, you'd need at least an eighth-tier epic level."
"No, no, no, the evil dragon has long reached the limit of its lifespan and its strength is far less than before. That person definitely did not reach the eighth-tier epic level, and it is not even certain whether he has reached the seventh-tier legendary level."
"Doesn't that mean the dragon might have been killed by someone who wasn't even a saint? What happened to the dragon's accumulated wealth?"
"It is said that the man took them all, and the others present did not get a single copper coin."
"If that person really only has the strength of the sixth rank and has obtained such a large fortune, wouldn't anyone be envious? If I had that much money, I should be able to marry Miss Ailian."
"With your second-tier strength, you should just go home and dream. Even if that person was just lucky to get a bargain, he's definitely not someone you can handle. Not to mention, there are many underground organizations investigating his background. If they find out that he doesn't have the strength or background to match the Dragon's Treasure, just watch, the Dragon Slayer might become a headless corpse one day."
"Black hair, black eyes! A severed arm!" the man suddenly cried out, unable to speak coherently.
"What nonsense are you spouting in broad daylight?" another man said sarcastically. Then he turned around and froze, muttering listlessly, "Dragon Slayer!"
Wu Yu nodded kindly to the man, and then led Violet into the giant teleportation array.
He had heard similar conversations more than once. Wu Yu couldn't help but marvel at how fast the news spread. In just a few days, he, this visitor from another world, had almost become a household name.
Fortunately, he has been lucky so far. No one has made a move against him. Even if he is recognized occasionally, it is not a big problem. He is not a vicious criminal, and no official force will chase him down. So his journey has not been hindered.
As for the inexplicable title of "Dragon Slayer" bestowed upon him, it was probably the work of Ma Nan and his group. By diverting attention to themselves, the underground forces wouldn't pay much attention to the survivors. What a clever scheme!
So why would anyone want to slay a dragon in the first place? There's absolutely no benefit to it!
Moreover, Asadron probably didn't do anything bad; they were just after those so-called dragon treasures.
Wu Yu is clearly not a dragon, but because he has been given the title of dragon slayer, he has now become the target of attack in the eyes of others.
So, is it true that the behavior patterns of the vast majority of people in this world revolve around self-interest? How boring. If only there were more people like Jack in the world.
Wu Yu pondered, silently waiting for the colorful array patterns to rise beneath his feet.
First, a semi-transparent protective shield enveloped the crowd. Then, they felt a momentary sense of weightlessness. When they looked up again, the bright sunshine had turned into dark clouds, and the surrounding environment had changed.
The capital? My new place of residence, I've finally arrived.
······
This is a space glittering with stars, adorning the pitch-black backdrop.
However, the most dazzling sights were the three orbs of light located at the very center of the space.
Three orbs of light—one black, one white, and one gray—formed an equilateral triangle and slowly rotated there.
Beneath the sphere of light, a peerless beauty of unparalleled allure is being experienced.
If Wu Yu were here, he would definitely recognize at a glance that this person is Phillis, whom he had met once before.
Philliss was waving her delicate hands, and with each light tap, she could ignite a dazzling spark.
After a while, perhaps having had enough fun, Philliss spread her palms out, and the star-like particles of light in the space gathered towards her palms.
As the light gathered into another small sphere, Phillis clenched her hand, and the small sphere merged into her palm.
"The quantity has increased again? It seems they're doing quite well," Phillis nodded in satisfaction.
Looking at the three large halos in front of him, Phillis began to mutter to himself, "Information retrieval, keyword—Wu Yu."
Golden pupils began to shimmer with light, and massive streams of data surged within the space.
"Add the keyword 'male human'."
"Add the keyword 'no right hand'."
"Target locked, begin reading," Phillis commanded to an invisible entity.
“The dragon slayer, the dragon’s treasure.” Phillis murmured softly. “Is Wu Yu finally coming to the capital? But why would he kill the dragon guardian? I can’t understand it, I can’t judge it.”
"Step back," Phillis commanded the being once more.
As the darkness dissipated, Phillis returned to his own palace.
A hint of weariness flashed in his eyes. Phillis sat back in his chair, picked up the teacup beside him, took a sip, and sighed, "Looking at things from other people's perspectives will always lead to biases. Let me, with my eyes that can see through people's hearts, truly get to know you, Wu Yu. I can't wait to meet you."
