On the first day, Wu Yu asked, "Hey, sir, what's the situation outside?"
"Nothing's wrong."
"oh!"
The next day, Wu Yu asked, "Hey, sir, what's the situation outside?"
"Baron Benson has announced that he will become a viscount."
"oh!"
On the third day, Wu Yu asked, "Hey, sir, what's the situation outside?"
"Viscount Benson is explaining his policies to the people. I heard that taxes will decrease this year. It seems that Viscount Benson will be a good lord!"
"oh..."
On the fourth day, Wu Yu did not ask any questions.
But the jailer approached him and said, "Young man, the Emperor's special envoy will arrive tonight. Viscount Benson is preparing a welcome banquet at home. Tomorrow, once the envoy leaves, it will be your death day. Considering we've spent a few days together, I'll get you a last meal before you're executed. Tell me, what do you want to eat?"
"Whatever!"
On the fifth day, Wu Yu had just woken up and was about to ask the jailer for breakfast when he looked out of the cell door and saw a woman who shouldn't be in such a dark and filthy place.
The girl was Violet Wu Yu knew, but she was very different from her past self. She was wearing a black evening gown and expensive jewelry, which added a touch of nobility to her already beautiful appearance.
Violet's face was shrouded in an unconcealable gloom, and her large, expressive eyes were red and swollen.
But none of these changes shocked Wu Yu as much as seeing her standing alive in front of him. Then Violet said in her beautiful yet slightly hoarse voice, "Mr. Wu Yu, this is a letter my brother left for you. Please keep it safe."
Wu Yu took the envelope blankly, then opened the letter and began to read it carefully.
