Chapter Sixteen: Wu Yu Awakens

"Violet, have you betrayed me or gone mad? Are you trying to take on eight people at once? Please, don't make me laugh."

"Begin clearing the target." The words of others did not cause Violet to hesitate.

Before the others could finish speaking, she had already swung her sword.

With a single sword strike, the sword energy split into eight, flying towards the eight people, trapping them in space, leaving them nowhere to escape.

Those eight were also top-tier experts in the world, yet at this moment, they all felt a death warning. They activated the laws they had mastered, but they only felt that the power they used to wield so easily was becoming stiff and difficult to understand, and they could not mobilize even a trace of power.

A dazzling flower of laws cast a phantom image behind Violet, and in an instant, she revoked their power to use the laws.

Neither battle aura nor magic power seemed to have any effect when facing Violet's sword aura, which contained the laws of three thousand.

The sword energy easily severed their heads, obliterating their bodies and souls.

A gentle breeze swept by, and the eight lifeless bodies turned into fragments and vanished with the wind.

This is the power Violet possesses at this moment, capable of instantly killing several opponents of the same level, but it is not enough to save the world.

Having accomplished this trivial task with ease, Violet put the World Sword back into her storage ring and then gently snapped her fingers.

"Click".

The seal, which had existed for ten thousand years and was already on the verge of collapse, shattered with a roar, like a caged beast being released.

The demons, trapped for ten thousand years, swarmed out of the demon realm, and the intense, chilling demonic energy began to permeate the human world, blotting out the sun. The demons within it ravaged the land like locusts, and the apocalypse began.

Before the demonic energy could touch Violet, she transformed into a streak of light and vanished into the world.

Ten thousand years later, a new war between humans and demons began without warning.

······

Losing consciousness is the best way for humans to transcend time.

After an unknown amount of time passed in a daze, Wu Yu's scattered consciousness finally awoke again from his repaired body.

He opened his tightly closed eyelids and was greeted by a brilliant halo of light. Having been in darkness for so long, he was not yet able to adapt to this level of light.

With eyes slightly narrowed and hands raised to cover face, there was a slight resistance from the arm, but with just a little force, it was easy to break free.

As he looked through his fingertips, Wu Yu suddenly realized a problem.

Huh? When did my left hand grow out?

Wu Yu used his waist to try to get the person up from the ground, but instead, a sharp pain shot through his scalp.

He was half-buried in the mud, his hair mixed with the soil. Wu Yu had no choice but to use his fighting spirit to shatter the clod of earth beneath him.

However, with this effort, Wu Yu discovered that his strength had improved significantly. He had unconsciously reached the fourth level. What exactly happened during the time he was unconscious?

Why is my hair so long? And where are my clothes?

Wu Yu felt a chill on his body, and his smooth hair kept rubbing against his buttocks. He quickly looked down to make sure that his male characteristics were still there, and then he breathed a sigh of relief. He had thought that he had transmigrated into a woman's body again.

So your hair grew naturally? Then how long were you unconscious?

Looking at his right hand, Wu Yu saw that the storage ring was still there. He took out a set of clothes and put them on. Then he sat cross-legged on the ground and began to recall what had happened before he lost consciousness.

"System! Come out here, I need to ask you something."

Wu Yu roared in his heart, realizing that it was much simpler to ask the system for clarification than to slowly recall the events himself, since the system wouldn't fall into a coma while he was unconscious.

To Wu Yu's disappointment, the system didn't respond at all this time.

As he learned more and more, the system's presence became less and less noticeable. Now, it's finally too lazy to even respond to him?

After trying to bring up the system panel and confirming that its functions were still available, Wu Yu stopped wasting his time thinking about it.

He already had several rough guesses about the nature of the system, and the next step was to find a way to verify them.

Ignoring the system, Wu Yu began to seriously recall his memories before he lost his memory.

Wu Yu's last memory was of Violet piercing his heart with her hand. Just thinking about that scene made Wu Yu feel like his understanding of the world had completely collapsed.

"It turns out I never truly understood her." Wu Yu sighed with a bitter smile.

Wu Yu felt anger and confusion about Violet's behavior, but not hatred.

Although her attack could theoretically have killed him, Wu Yu understood that his survival was entirely her doing.

"You're really being willful! Well, this is the second time I've forgiven you then," Wu Yu said presumptuously.

He was the one who barely survived, yet he's putting on a show of benevolence.

However, Wu Yu wasn't lying; he did indeed spare Violet's life when he was ambushed back then.

He only suffered a minor fatal wound; using his last breath to finish off the opponent was just standard procedure.

However, it was fortunate that he softened at the last moment, otherwise they would probably have died together underground.

"Where am I right now?" Wu Yu looked at the uneven ground and glanced at the light membrane above his head, unable to determine his location at all.
