Chapter Two Agreement Completed

"What? You want me to forge a divine artifact?" Jess looked at him as if he was doubting his hearing due to old age. "Do you even know how to forge a divine artifact?"

"Of course I don't know," Wu Yu replied quickly, though his tone was slightly irritating. "But what about you?"

"Heh, I'm really flattered by your high opinion of me," Jess said irritably. "I also want to forge a divine weapon, but unfortunately, that's beyond the realm of mortals. With the country in crisis right now, it's better to focus on forging a few fine iron swords than to continue chasing that unattainable dream."

"They're just demons. Even if the sky falls, there are tall people to hold it up. That broken sword in your hand won't change anything." Wu Yu continued to persuade him. "Divine artifacts are what can really turn the tide of battle."

“I failed at my peak, and even with the materials, it’s impossible to succeed this time,” Jess said with a wry smile.

“No, I say you can.” Wu Yu was even more confident than Jess. “It’s been so many years, you must know that you’re missing something when you’re forging, right?”

“Of course I know, that’s why I’m so unwilling to accept it,” Jess said bitterly. “If enchanting is about imbuing weapons with the power of the laws of nature, then a divine artifact must possess some kind of absolute attribute, a power that can only be granted by the authority of the gods.”

"If the gods so desire, they can turn a stone that can be found anywhere into a divine artifact, but mortals can only sigh helplessly at their own insignificance."

"I still don't know how to make a weapon contain authority!"

Jess suddenly looked up, his bloodshot eyes, worn from overwork, fixed on Wu Yu, and let out a roar.

"It's okay, I can teach you," Wu Yu said with a light laugh, as if any difficult problem was child's play to him.

"You?" Jess had absolutely no trust in Wu Yu. It was only because of the unfathomable Violet that he didn't consider Wu Yu to be the kind of crazy person who talked nonsense.

“Of course.” Wu Yu flashed a bright white smile at Jess, then took out the Origin Dark Sword from his storage ring and handed it to Jess, sword and scabbard together.

"I find this sword quite easy to use, but it's not up to par for the upcoming battles. Could you please upgrade it for me?"

Jess took the Dark Sword, examined it for a long time, and then said with a serious expression, "Triple enchantment, that's top-tier in the mortal realm, and even more than enough for an eighth-tier epic. Who exactly do you intend to use it against?"

"If nothing unexpected happens, I'll probably be facing God in the end. I can severely injure Him now, but to actually kill Him, I feel I'll need even more powerful equipment," Wu Yu replied earnestly.

"Hahaha, how ridiculous." Jess couldn't hold back his serious face any longer and laughed wildly. "Only a god can contend with a god. If you are a god, you can forge a divine weapon yourself. Why would you need to come to me, a mere mortal?"

“My situation is rather special. I can only guess at the moment. The success rate is probably about 50/50. So, are you going to refuse my request?” Wu Yu ignored Jess’s sarcasm and patiently waited for Jess’s reply.

“How could I possibly refuse such a proposal?” Jess said with a wry smile. “Tell me your plan.”

“Okay,” Wu Yu said with satisfaction. “However, my proposal is a bit unusual, and I don’t know if you can accept it.”

"Speak quickly," Jess urged impatiently.

“I will give you a bottle of my blood. You can fuse it into the artifact, and I think it should then possess the property of containing authority,” Wu Yu replied slowly.

"Why, why does your blood have this function?" Jess had never heard of anyone's blood having this function.

"I guessed." Wu Yu's words almost made Jess faint with anger. "However, I have condensed many laws in my spiritual sea, including a suspected law, so I guess my body must have some peculiarities."

“That’s just wishful thinking on your part,” Jess said, barely suppressing his anger.

“But this is your only chance.” Wu Yu said without backing down. “My initial plan was to help you collect the materials you need first. This would not only fulfill my promise but also prove my strength to you. However, Violet saved me the first step and saved me a lot of trouble.”

"Even if you don't believe me, you should at least believe Violet's words. What she asked you not to refuse was probably the matter of forging the divine weapon for me. Actually, I was just trying it out at first, but her actions made me certain of my guess."

"This..." Just thinking about how Violet looked back then, Jess's heart began to shift.

“Let’s give it a try then. Anyway, it’s a waste to just leave those materials piled up in the warehouse.” Jess finally gave in.

"Thank you. Let's get started right away. I have some urgent business to attend to." Wu Yu smiled.

“Wait, I haven’t finished speaking yet,” Jess interrupted him. “I can try to forge the artifact for you, but I didn’t say it would be free.”

"Do you want payment? Sure, just say so." Wu Yu was quite easy to talk to; as long as Jesti's request wasn't too unreasonable, he could agree to it.

“The demon army has approached Green Town, and the town’s fighting strength is not enough to resist them. I was going to forge weapons for the adventurers in the town, but if I were to forge a divine artifact for you, I would not be able to complete the rest of the task. So I need you to hold off the invading demon army for me,” Jess said.
