Chapter Fifteen: Getting the World Back on Track

He wore a plain white silk robe, secured at the waist with a jet-black belt. His long, flowing hair cascaded down, some strands falling into the tranquil pool. Standing on the pool, he resembled a solitary immortal, aloof and independent from the world.

His face was dignified, yet he exuded aloofness. He scrutinized the composed and confident young woman before him with his heterochromatic eyes, one black and one white. After a long while, he finally smiled calmly.

"You're very good."

Despite receiving the gods' praise, Violet showed no joy. She continued to coldly mutter to herself, "Can be looked at directly, does not possess any divine characteristics, seal intact, premise for negotiation is established."

"Haha, how enviable! To have such an excellent divinely created puppet as you. Think about what my subordinates did back then: proselytizing! proselytizing! proselytizing! Did they think they could destroy humanity by engaging in religious struggles and thought control? It's useless. When people can't even get enough to eat, they won't remember what they once believed in."

"Later, I got a little smarter and let humans develop technology. With humans' tendency to court death, they might very well end up killing themselves. But unfortunately, I have found a better way."

That otherworldly aura had vanished; he hovered in mid-air, legs crossed, one hand supporting his chin, full of complaints.

His down-to-earth demeanor surprised Violet, and a thousand thoughts swirled in her eyes.

"Don't be surprised, because you have no point of reference, so you don't know. Every god's way of thinking originates from the beings they evolved." He saw Violet's confusion and explained.

"Back in the feudal era, I quite enjoyed showing off in front of people, but now that we've entered the internet age, those silly netizens are all masters of empty talk and keyboard warriors. Showing off in front of them really doesn't give me any satisfaction at all," He said with great distress.

Violet quickly processed the information she received and adopted the appropriate attitude. She asked in a friendly manner, "May I ask how I should address you?"

"Gods have no name; we all refer to each other by our authority. However, mortals have given me many names: God? Heavenly Emperor? Heavenly Dao? As for the latest one, it's Wu Yu's name: Extreme Evil, Ultimate Good, Pitch Black Light. Since you've cultivated human skills to the same level as me, I acknowledge that you have the right to speak with me. You can affectionately call me Little Light." Little Light said casually.

“Thank you, Hikaru,” Violet called out as he had requested.

"Since I'm cooperating so well, shouldn't you answer a few questions for me first?" Xiao Guang said slyly.

“Okay,” Violet replied immediately.

"How did you find me?" Xiao Guang asked.

“Only a god can harm a god. Since Wu Yu was able to defeat the God of Light, there must be a god standing behind him. There is no other way to explain the power he possesses,” Violet said with certainty.

"It seems you understand all the rules of the real world. The eighth rank is the limit for mortals. It's quite commendable that you understand this," Xiao Guang said approvingly.

"My second question is, what kind of state do you think I'm in right now?" Xiao Guang continued.

“Now that you have appeared before me, I can confirm my previous speculation. You are still in a sealed state, but the thing sealing you has changed from the previous world to Wu Yu himself. Your true self is here, and apart from the dimensional seal, there is absolutely no other way to shield you from the world's will,” Violet continued.

“These things aren’t hard to guess. Once you know all the rules, you’ll be able to figure out this one possibility. Alright, the rest of the time is yours. Tell me, why did you call me out here specifically?” Xiao Guang said, tilting his head.

"If Wu Yu dies, will you be able to break free of the seal?" Violet immediately asked.

“That’s right.” Xiao Guang replied nonchalantly, not at all afraid that the other party would use this crucial information.

“Then why are you still offering him help?” Violet asked.

"You could say it's just to have some fun," Xiao Guang thought for a moment and said with a smile. "We've been trapped for hundreds of millions of years, so there's no need to rush. Mortals only live for a hundred years, and even if they reach the eighth rank, they only live for a thousand years. For me, I can wait that long."

"The humans over there always talk about defying the heavens, and they write time-travel stories that seem quite convincing. So I wanted to try it out and see what heights they could reach if they were given a chance to travel through time. At the same time, I wanted to confirm whether these lives born by borrowing my power were worth preserving."

"Is Wu Yu special?" Violet asked somewhat nervously.

"It was randomly selected. God is very particular about the equality of all beings," Xiao Guang said playfully.

"Aren't you afraid he'll turn against you?" Violet hadn't expected a god to be so casual.

"Of course not." Xiao Guang saw this very clearly. "I am already the supreme being of the multiverse. If Wu Yu wants to surpass me, he must gather the authority of the three thousand Great Daos and repeat the creation process. If he can really do that, I will accept this ending."

Violet nodded in response, "Information obtained, negotiations concluded."

"Is it over just like that? I really wanted to chat with you a little longer. When talking to Wu Yu, I have to remember my own role, and there are a lot of things I can't say," Xiao Guang said, still wanting more.

“That’s enough, thank you,” Violet said gratefully.

"Saving that brat Wu Yu makes you so happy? I thought people like you were usually heartless," Xiao Guang said, pursing his lips.
