Chapter Nineteen Demon King

Just as Wu Yu was reflecting on himself, the black mist began to spin rapidly. When it stopped, a perfect black cube flew out of the mist and slowly floated over the desolate city.

"Is this the Demon King's attack? Using a single point to break through the entire area, that's a pretty good strategy." Wu Yu commented on the scene before him, trying to appear calm.

But what happened next would be something he would never forget for the rest of his life.

What was previously just a cube the size of a fist expanded at the speed of light without Wu Yu even blinking, instantly enlarging to cover the entire desolate city.

The cube's enormous size lasted only a moment before it quickly returned to the size of a fist when Wu Yu wasn't paying attention, and then swiftly floated back into the black mist.

But the changes it brought to the world did not return to their original state along with it.

Gone, everything is gone. A small town called Desolate City has been physically erased.

Wu Yu collapsed to the ground, utterly limp. Faced with such godlike power, mortals couldn't even manage a gasp of surprise.

All the obstacles in front of them were leveled, and the yellow sand began to slowly flow towards the deep pit, seemingly erasing even the traces of destruction.

With the city walls no longer obstructing the view, Wu Yu finally caught a glimpse of the giant dragon in its entirety, as well as the countless demon army neatly arrayed behind it.

The despair he had felt not long ago surged up from the bottom of his heart again, and this time, Wu Yu didn't even have the courage to fantasize.

"How merciful!" After a long silence, Jack finally uttered a sentence.

"What? You call this mercy?" Wu Yu immediately bristled. He looked at Jack in disbelief, unable to imagine that a human being could say such a thing.

"When the ending is already predetermined, and the Demon King grants humanity a painless death, if this is not mercy, then what is it?" Jack retorted with a poker face.

"This..." Wu Yu was speechless.

"Mom! Eddie! Ali! Everyone!" Jerry, who had been like a puppet before, suddenly began to wail.

The crying disturbed Wu Yu's mind. He looked at the powerful demon army and finally couldn't help but call out to the system that had recently disappeared.

"Damn system, if you don't come out soon, I'm about to die."

"I'm here, I'm here. This system is always here. You don't need to shout so loudly to call people." The system's voice was a little lazy, and it also carried an undisguised schadenfreude.

"What time is it? Hurry up and think of a solution," Wu Yu thought anxiously.

"Didn't I already tell you what this system is capable of? What are you cowardly about? Just go and fight head-on." The system completely adopted an attitude of indifference, as if it were none of its business.

"Can I defeat the Demon King?" Wu Yu was a little doubtful.

"It depends on your performance, but regardless of winning or losing, this system estimates you'll be crippled if you don't die." The system gave a very vague answer.

Wu Yu hesitated, but after a while he continued to ask, "System, did you summon this demon king just to force me to take action?"

"Heh." The system chuckled coldly. "You think too highly of yourself. Let me tell you, I don't care about your life or death at all. I was just trying to have some fun before. Now, I don't need to persuade you anymore. This dramatic turn of events actually happened on its own. Host, you really have a lot of bad luck."

However, spoiling the plot beforehand would be too boring. So, host, I'll disable my mind-reading ability on you from now on. Please perform well; I look forward to a spectacular show.

After the system made the announcement, no matter how Wu Yu called out in his heart, he received no response. Wu Yu cursed himself as a piece of trash, and then subconsciously looked at Jack, who had never disappointed him.

"What should we do next? Lie down and wait to die?" Wu Yu said half-jokingly.

"The word 'give up' has never been in my dictionary. Listen to my instructions, and maybe you'll still have a chance to survive." Even now, Jack hasn't abandoned his seemingly innate calmness.

Is there really a way? Wu Yu didn't expect that his casual question would lead to a new way out. He temporarily put aside his plans and wanted to see how Jack would turn the tables.
