“Come forth, my most elite warriors,” Leviathan proclaimed.
As soon as he finished speaking, figures flew out of the black hole. They flapped their fleshy wings and landed neatly behind Leviathan. Although their physiques could not compare to Leviathan's ten-meter-tall stature, their five-meter-tall giant bodies were still incredibly imposing. They looked greedily at the crowd below, as if they were staring at food, their eyes revealing a jackal-like bloodlust.
Each demon exuded a powerful aura; even the weakest was at the fifth rank, and there were even more than a dozen demons that had reached the terrifying seventh-rank legendary level.
“Go ahead,” Leviathan said casually.
The thousands of demons cheered and flew towards the ground. As a passerby was torn in two, the carnage truly began. The royal capital, which had just been enveloped in the festive atmosphere, was transformed into a living hell in an instant.
Leviathan didn't move. He was waiting, waiting for an epic among humans to challenge him. Only by completely eliminating the city's top combatants could he truly conquer the city.
Soon, the Empire's Grand Tutor arrived, stepping through the air. Looking at the wounded Ted and the people being slaughtered, his eyes were filled with barely suppressed rage. With a wave of his hand, a bolt of lightning as thick as a bucket struck towards Leviathan.
The Imperial Advisor was also a magician. Once he reached the Saint level, he no longer needed to chant spells, except for forbidden spells.
The lightning struck Leviathan, but it didn't leave a single mark on his purple body, which shocked the Grand Preceptor. Although it was just a probing attack, the result still shook his confidence.
"Give me three minutes, I have a way to stop him." Just then, the Grand Preceptor received Ted's telepathic message. The Grand Preceptor glanced at Ted. He had originally wanted Ted to buy him time to cast the forbidden spell, but since Ted spoke first, he had no choice but to trust him.
As a mage, Ted charged towards Leviathan fearlessly. They were the protectors of the capital, and if they allowed that demon to make a move, they would undoubtedly be put on the defensive.
Leviathan was undoubtedly aware of the characteristics of mages. When he saw the Grand Master abandon his own advantages to engage him in close combat, Leviathan was stunned for a moment, then revealed a cruel smile and went to meet him.

Below, the cocoon of light enveloping Wu Yu had not yet broken open, but the demons had already rushed over. However, with the Pope in charge, he merely glanced at them casually, and the demons were enveloped in white holy flames and quickly burned to ashes.
For a time, no demon dared to set foot in this area.
"Ladies and gentlemen, disaster is upon us. Please come with me to the church for refuge. The church is the domain of God, and it can better protect you all," the Pope appealed.
After speaking, the Pope did not linger, but led the members of the church toward the church.
The people looked at each other, still not understanding what had happened, but seeing how terrifying the demon looked and how powerful it seemed, they finally decided to follow the Pope.
However, one person in the crowd did something inappropriate.
Violet pushed through the crowd and rushed to Virginia's side, urgently saying, "Miss Virginia, please stay here to protect Wu Yu."
All eyes immediately turned to her. Nowhere was this safe as a church. Violet's actions had undoubtedly angered everyone, but with the Pope present, no one dared to speak out against her.
"Okay." Without hesitation or doubt, Virginia agreed to Violet's request without a second thought.
The Pope's hand holding the scepter trembled slightly. He looked deeply at Violet, but could only see the worry and gratitude on her face.
The Pope then ordered the cardinals behind him, "You take the people back to the church first, I will stay here to protect the saint."
"Yes." The cardinals didn't say much. They naturally trusted the Pope's power, so they led the already restless crowd away.
No one else chose to stay, and for a moment, only four people and a cocoon of light remained in the huge venue.
Surprisingly, Eugene also stayed.
“Eugene, why don’t you go to the church for refuge?” Violet asked.
“Wu Yu is my friend, how could I abandon my friend?” Eugene said righteously, though his legs were trembling.
"Then please take good care of Wu Yu for me. I'm leaving now." Violet nodded and then started to move, but she didn't leave in the direction of the church.
"Hey, wait, where are you going? Other places are dangerous," Eugene said urgently.
“The Sword Saint left me a way to contact him. Now that the capital is under invasion, we must wait for the Sword Saint to return before we can defeat these demons. The communication device is in my home, and I must go back to retrieve it,” Violet said fearlessly.
"No, it's really dangerous outside!" Eugene cried out, but he didn't dare to go over. Although he didn't know how strong those demons were, Eugene knew how weak he was. He didn't dare to leave the Pope's sight at all.
In the end, Violet left alone.

With a "bang," the Imperial Advisor was sent flying by a punch, further exacerbating his injuries.
For mages, close combat is not about melee, but about casting spells at the closest possible distance to avoid being dodged by the enemy, while maintaining a safe distance to avoid being attacked.
Without close combat, the Grand Master simply couldn't hold off Leviathan, and the price of engaging in close combat was that he had already been severely injured by Leviathan.
