Chu Yuan didn't expect that she would meet Huo Jin so soon.
At that time, he was being escorted and made to kneel in the empty hall of the Hall of Mental Cultivation.
The emperor sat high on the dragon throne, with a young boy beside him. The boy was bald but not wearing a monk's robe. His eyes were gloomy as he stared at Chu Yuan, who walked into the hall.
He let out a chilling, lurking laugh. "Your Majesty, you see, Changming was right, wasn't he?"
The emperor naturally recognized Chu Yuan, even though she looked somewhat haggard and there were obvious bloodstains on the hem of her skirt.
The emperor's gaze swept quickly over Chu Yuan, then landed coolly on the baby in her arms. "Tell me, whose child is that in swaddling clothes?"
Chu Yuan understood what had happened in almost the blink of an eye.
Even Huo Jin, despite his meticulous planning, has his moments of oversight.
In that critical moment, her instinct wasn't fear or anger; instead, she felt a sense of schadenfreude.
He raised an eyebrow at Huo Jin, silently mocking: "Baby, you've fallen into a trap, haven't you?"
Huo Jin's large, beautiful peach blossom eyes shone brightly, yet she glared at Chu Yuan with a lazy expression.
Then his gaze fell on her arms, where two tiny figures lay quietly, contentedly sucking on their little mouths.
I had imagined countless ways to meet my child, but I never expected it to be like this!
I keep talking about that little rascal, that little rascal, and just thinking about him gives me a headache. But when I actually see him, a warm feeling washes over me, and I can't help but want to hug him.
Thinking this, Huo Jin suddenly stopped holding back, sprang to his feet to deal with the trouble behind him, and quickly arrived at Chu Yuan's side.
He held her and the child in his arms, and planted a deep kiss on Chu Yuan's forehead.
He then raised his head and said, "Your Majesty need not ask. These are my children. I am just so surprised to find that there are two of them."
Chu Yuan secretly conceived twins, without ever talking to Huo Jin about it.
The emperor's eyes widened in fury as he slammed his hand on the dragon throne. "Huo Jin, how dare you! You dare to deceive me?"
For so many years, I have been kept in the dark by you!
If it weren't for Master Changming's exposure, I would never have known how many good deeds you've done behind my back! You even have an illegitimate child!
Huo Jin simply smiled, "Your Majesty, you keep referring to Master Changming, but do you know that he is one of the sons of that lecherous rogue, Rolling Dragon, from Longyin Temple?"
His voice sounded fearless, but rather light and airy, making people uneasy. "Your Majesty, you are so indiscriminate in your eating and drinking, and so illogical in your thinking. What right do you have to criticize others?"
"Is it wrong for me to like women and have children with the woman I love?"
"For so many years, I've been hypocritical around you, enduring your disgusting habits. Every moment makes me feel nauseous and want to vomit!"
"You...you...I'm going to kill you!" The emperor stood up abruptly.
Pointing at Huo Jin's nose, he said, "I have treated you well, giving you fame and power, but you have been raised to be a heartless wretch, even worse than your adoptive father!"
The slight smile in Huo Jin's eyes vanished instantly. "You'd better not mention your godfather. You're not worthy!"
"He was the one who gave his heart and soul, sparing no expense, only to raise you into a treacherous person who betrays you after you've served your purpose! Without him, you wouldn't even be able to sit on the throne, and yet how did you treat him?"
When the cunning rabbit dies, the hunting dog is cooked!
To be honest, what I did today was something I learned from you!
Give them a taste of their own medicine!
Every word he uttered was piercing to the heart; no one understood the emperor's weaknesses better than Huo Jin.
Sure enough, he was so angry that he could hardly breathe. He plopped back down on the dragon throne, then stood up again, panting, "Guards! Guards! Drag...drag Huo Jin away and execute him on the spot!"
Changming reached out to pat the emperor's back to help him catch his breath. "Your Majesty, why not execute that woman and those two babies as well? They're really an eyesore if they stay."
Who told Huo Jin to kill the Rolling Dragon?
He didn't care whether Rolling Dragon was a lecher or not; with him around, life was easy.
They have money and fame, and even women can enjoy it without any burden.
Anyway, those stinky girls in the nunnery, rather than letting outsiders benefit from them, might as well let him have his way with them too...
It's a pity that Huo Jin ruined that idyllic life!
He had a very hard time during this period, living a life worse than that of pigs and dogs. He finally learned that the emperor was gay and tried every means to enter the palace.
Perfect timing, a gentleman's revenge is never too late.
Others could be fooled by Huo Jin's pretense, but he was the only one who had witnessed the extent to which Huo Jin doted on that woman...
How could you just say you don't want it anymore?
And then, coincidentally, the other party became pregnant. Considering the timing, what else couldn't he understand?
Now, we can grant his wish.
The woman he cherished most, and his newborn child, were buried with him, as a tribute to his blissful, never-to-return days.
But to everyone's surprise, after the emperor had been shouting for so long, not a single person entered the hall to obey his orders.
Changming's face darkened, and he suddenly had a bad feeling.
The emperor also noticed, but he refused to believe it and roared several more times.
Finally, someone came in; it was the commander of his most trusted Imperial Guard.
The emperor, as if grasping at a lifeline, exclaimed: "Shen Qing, quick! Huo Jin has deceived the emperor and fooled me. He even tried to take my life to avenge his adoptive father. He is a partisan and deserves to die! Seize him and kill him without mercy!"
Shen Su held his sword, listening coldly without moving.
The emperor's face flushed red, his heart pounded, and his mouth went dry: "Shen Qing, why haven't you made your move yet?"
His reply was a light laugh from Huo Jin: "Your Majesty, you pride yourself on your intelligence, yet you can't see something so obvious? Shen Su, he's already mine."
Before the emperor could show an even more desperate expression, Huo Jin gave the order, "Shen Su, that evil monk is yours!"
