Chapter 6 The Scholar Husband's Desperate Need for a Son (5)

The warm yellow candlelight flickered, and the shadows of the two people overlapped in the candlelight, indistinct and blurry. Outside the window, the cicadas chirped softly and persistently.

For the first time, Song Tangyin felt his breathing become uncontrollably disordered. The skin under his hands was soft and delicate, and the burning temperature burned from his fingertips all the way to his heart.

"Yuan'er..." he murmured softly, only to realize how hoarse his voice was as soon as he spoke!

Song Tangyin was a scholar. Although he didn't adhere to strict rules and regulations, he had always been restrained in this regard and never indulged in lewdness in broad daylight. But today, he couldn't control himself and felt inexplicably thirsty as he looked at Chu Yuan, who was as beautiful as ever, in his arms.

"Ayin." Chu Yuan smiled and put her hands on Song Tangyin's neck.

Sensing the man in front of her trembling slightly, his eyes glazed over, she smiled even more brightly, kneeling on the couch to embrace Song Tangyin.

A soft kiss landed lightly on the man's ear, and he finally lost his restraint, placing his hands on her back and increasing the pressure.

This forced Chu Yuan to move closer to him.

Chu Yuan's soft body pressed against him, and Song Tangyin's breath caught in his throat. He closed his eyes and searched for Chu Yuan's lips.

Chu Yuan smiled slowly as she looked at him, but then pushed Song Tangyin away, lowering her head, looking shy and embarrassed, "Ayin, you need to rest for a full month after giving birth..."

Song Tangyin paused slightly, then her clear, pool-like eyes suddenly opened, showing no anger, but rather shyness and restraint.

"Oh, yes... I'm sorry, I was being presumptuous."

After putting Chu Yuan down, Song Tangyin stood up awkwardly, not at all like a man who had been married for five years.

She's incredibly naive and innocent.

Chu Yuan couldn't help but chuckle. "A-Yin is still so adorable. We're husband and wife, no need to be so formal. It's just that I really can't do it today, A-Yin, please don't blame me."

Few people know that the aloof and outstanding Song Dynasty scholar in the imperial court was actually quite shy.

During their wedding night, the two struggled for a long time without finding the right method. Song Tangyin's face turned almost as red as a boiled shrimp, and she kept apologizing to Chu Yuan.

Chu Yuan didn't know either at that time, but because the nanny had taught her the day before the wedding, she was a little better than Song Tangyin. The two of them fumbled around for most of the night, feeling both shy and embarrassed, and finally succeeded.

After that, time and time again, they were sweet and tender.

Unfortunately, they couldn't withstand the erosion of time, and gradually became strangers to each other.

If Chu Yuan hadn't had her soul replaced, this would never have happened.

"I'm going to wash up." Song Tangyin pursed her lips, not daring to look Chu Yuan in the eye, and slipped into the inner room in a disheveled state.

He never knew that his beautiful wife had such a seductive side.

Chu Yuan was very satisfied with her performance. She wasn't just aiming to win over Song Tangyin's body, but also his heart.

Only by making Song Tangyin fall in love with her again can things proceed smoothly from here on out.

After all, the person Chu Ping cares about most is Song Tangyin. If she finds out that all her efforts and perseverance over the years have been in vain, she would probably be devastated.

Men, the harder something is to obtain, the more they yearn for it.

The next day, Song Tangyin had to go to court very early. Chu Yuan tried her best to play the role of a virtuous wife, rubbing her eyes as she got up to help Song Tangyin get dressed and tidy up.

After he finished, he was in a hurry to leave, and Chu Yuan stepped forward and hooked her arm around his belt, saying, "Husband, come back early after court."

Song Tangyin's fair and delicate face instantly turned red.

He pursed his lips into a thin line, gazed at Chu Yuan for a moment, and nodded silently.

This is what Zhiyue saw when she entered the room.

Having grown accustomed to the aloof, stranger-like atmosphere between Chu Yuan and Song Tangyin, she was nearly stunned!

After Song Tangyin left, Zhiyue blinked curiously, "Madam, you and your son-in-law..."

Hesitant to speak, his words ambiguous and unclear.

Are you here to gather information for Chu Ping?

Chu Yuan smiled faintly, "Zhiyue, what rank of maid are you?"

Zhiyue was taken aback, not understanding why Chu Yuan was suddenly asking this, and stiffly replied, "This servant is a first-class maidservant by the Madam's side."

Chu Yuan looked at her and said, "That's it then. Since you're of the first rank, don't you know to keep your mouth shut and stop asking about the affairs between your masters?"

Zhiyue paused for a moment, then had nothing to say.

After a long pause, she stammered, looking aggrieved, "Madam, I was just worried about you. You haven't finished your postpartum confinement yet, and the doctor said you can't do that. Although I know it's rare for you and your husband to be intimate, your health is more important. There's a long road ahead. If you're too hasty, what if you damage your health and affect your ability to have children?"

Zhiyue knew very well that Chu Yuan's biggest fear was the issue of having offspring.

Normally, if she gave Chu Yuan such advice, even if she didn't accept it completely, she would pay extra attention.

After a while, Song Tangyin was rejected many times, so how could she not be unhappy?

Chu Yuan sneered inwardly, her gaze towards Zhi Yue unfathomably deep.

Zhiyue was instinctively startled. "Madam? I...did I say something wrong?"

Chu Yuan shook her head. "No, Zhiyue, you reminded me. I've miscarried three times now, and the doctor says there's nothing seriously wrong with me. Do you think it might not be an accident, but someone trying to harm me?"

As he spoke, his right hand, seemingly unintentionally, slowly reached for the purse at his waist.

Zhiyue just hung this purse on her.

Chu Yuan could smell the familiar musk, but the system had already removed the harmful substances, so she wasn't afraid at all.

Zhiyue was startled by Chu Yuan's words and almost dropped the hairpin in her hand. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Chu Yuan touching the problematic purse. She was completely terrified, her expression changed drastically, and her lips began to tremble.

No... I hope Madam won't find out.

Zhiyue was extremely uneasy and lowered her eyes to avoid eye contact. "Madam is overthinking things. There are only a few people in the manor. Besides you, there is only the old lady. The old lady is the son-in-law's mother. How could she harm her own children and grandchildren?"

"Is that so?" Chu Yuan asked softly, observing Zhi Yue's expression in the mirror.

Zhiyue kept her head down, clearly feeling guilty. "Yes, the doctor said that Madam should try to keep a positive attitude and think about things in a positive light."

He truly cares for her wholeheartedly! Maid!

Chu Yuan's lips curled into a sarcastic smile, but she didn't show it on her face. She turned around and grasped Zhi Yue's arms with both hands. "Zhi Yue, I don't think I've ever asked you before, do you have someone you admire?"

This sentence finally made Zhiyue raise her head.

Her deer-like eyes were filled with confusion and tension.

"Do you have it?" Chu Yuan asked again solemnly.

Something flashed in Zhiyue's eyes, but she denied it: "This servant has no such intention. This servant only wants to serve Miss for the rest of my life."

Chu Yuan smiled meaningfully, "What if I asked you to serve your husband?"

The light, casual tone struck Zhiyue like a thunderclap.

She panicked completely, and hurriedly looked up, "Miss, I absolutely had no such intention, please investigate!"

After saying that, he knelt down on the ground.

Chu Yuan caught her quickly, smiling, "Good Zhiyue, I asked casually, why are you so scared? I originally thought that you had been by my husband's and my side the longest, and that you were willing to bear children for him. Now it seems that I misunderstood. Oh well, never mind."

With a sigh, Chu Yuan looked regretful.

Seeing this, Zhiyue's mind started to wander uncontrollably.

Does she have a chance to become a concubine?
