Chapter 63 Ancient Headlines

"Yes!" the guard replied, and the carriage continued its journey forward.

Soon, the carriage slowly came to a stop in front of the Quanjulai store.

"Your Highness, we have arrived," the guard said respectfully.

"Okay, Simeng, let's get off the carriage." Mo Beichen said with a smile and got off the carriage first.

Mo Mingxuan followed closely behind Mo Beichen and got off the carriage.

People around stopped to watch as the Regent's carriage stopped in front of Quanjulai.

Two men alighted from the carriage one after the other. One was the Third Prince, Mo Mingxuan, and the other was the Regent, Mo Beichen.

After alighting from the carriage, the two stood side by side beside it. Mo Mingxuan was handsome and elegant, dressed in a blue robe with a silver brocade belt around his waist, wearing a silver crown, his eyebrows arched, and a smile playing on his lips. Every movement exuded nobility and grace.

Mo Beichen's jet-black hair fluttered slightly in the wind, held back by a jade hairpin. His features were exquisite, as radiant as stars. His thin, sensual lips were slightly pursed, his face radiating a cool indifference. However, when he turned to look at the woman alighting from the carriage, his expression instantly softened, his eyes filled with such doting affection that they seemed to burn away the surrounding air.

Mo Beichen reached out his arm, intending for Wang Simeng to help him out of the car. However, to his surprise, Wang Simeng jumped down directly.

This scene stunned everyone around, and all eyes turned to Wang Simeng.

Wang Simeng felt the strange looks she was receiving and was completely bewildered. She looked up at Mo Beichen and asked softly, "What's going on here? Why are they all staring at me?"

Seeing her cautious demeanor, Mo Beichen smiled slightly, bent down, leaned close to Wang Simeng's ear, and whispered, "It's alright, she probably just thinks Simeng is pretty. Let's go in."

Upon hearing Mo Beichen's words, Wang Simeng knew he was talking nonsense. She glared at him, but didn't have time to think about what was going on. Unable to bear the strange looks around her, Wang Simeng quickly went into the shop.

Seeing Wang Simeng's anxious expression, Mo Beichen smiled and followed her inside. Mo Mingxuan quickly followed after him.

Wang Simeng, Mo Beichen, and Mo Mingxuan entered the shop.

"Your Highness the Regent, the Third Prince, and this young lady have arrived! Please come in, please come in." The owner saw Mo Beichen enter and quickly and respectfully went to greet them, leading the three of them to a private room on the top floor.

After the three sat down, the owner respectfully brought over the menu and, following Mo Beichen's signal, handed it to Wang Simeng.

"Hehe, then I won't be polite," Wang Simeng said with a smile, looking at the two of them.

Then, he picked up the recipe and started flipping through it.

While Mo Beichen and his two companions chatted happily, they were unaware that news of the Regent Prince riding in a carriage with a woman and dining on Peking duck at Quanjulai Restaurant had already spread throughout the capital. Many were speculating about the true nature of the relationship between the Regent Prince and the woman.

That day, everyone in the capital was talking about it.

Many well-to-do young men and women from prominent families, upon hearing the news, flocked to Quanjulai Roast Duck Restaurant for a meal.

There were no seats in the private rooms, so everyone was happy to sit in the main hall. They just wanted to see which woman had such influence and ability that she could have the Regent personally accompany her.

Some were simply curious to see who was so charming as to ride in the Regent's personal carriage. It's well known that no woman had ever been allowed to ride in the Regent's carriage before.

However, after much speculation, no one could guess who the woman was. They could only guess that she was the daughter of a noble family or a young lady from a prominent clan.

In the lobby on the first floor, a woman dressed in elegant attire sat at a table in one corner, with a maid standing beside her. The woman was tall, beautiful, and had a graceful figure.

The woman was holding a glass of wine, sipping it elegantly. However, her eyes kept glancing towards the stairwell.

This woman is Li Xue'er, the legitimate daughter of the Marquis of Wu'an. Li Xue'er is 21 years old this year and has been in love with Regent Mo Beichen since she was a child.

For years, Li Xue'er had felt that Mo Beichen was surrounded by no women. She believed that as long as she worked hard, the Regent would one day notice her.

However, Li Xue'er tried every possible way to get Mo Beichen's attention. But Mo Beichen never even glanced at her.

Now that she's reached marriageable age, she has no choice but to beg her parents for one last chance. If she still doesn't get Mo Beichen's attention before her birthday this year, she'll give up and obey her parents' arrangements for an engagement and marriage.

Although Li Xueer was slightly inferior to Wang Simeng, she was still considered a stunning beauty in the capital and was quite eye-catching.

She came to Quanju this time hoping to try her luck.

After all, Mo Beichen hadn't appeared outside for a long time. She finally found out he was at Quanjulai. She wanted to take this opportunity to see if she could try again, even if it was just to express her feelings to him. If it still didn't work out, then it truly was destined to be unfulfilled.

As soon as Mo Beichen and his companions stepped downstairs, they heard gasps of cold air coming from the lobby. Soon, the lobby fell silent, and everyone's eyes turned to Mo Beichen and Wang Simeng.

This time, Li Xue'er finally saw Mo Beichen and was overjoyed. She was just about to go over and tell him her feelings when she saw him looking at the woman beside him, his eyes filled with tenderness and affection.

Li Xue'er was stunned. She had never seen the Regent like this before. She had always thought the Regent was aloof to everyone, but she never expected him to have such a gentle side.

"Miss, Miss..." A maid called Li Xue'er softly from behind.

Hearing the maid's voice, Li Xue'er snapped out of her daze, suppressed her disappointment, and resumed her normal demeanor. She casually picked up the wine cup in front of her, took a sip of wine, and concealed her earlier lapse in composure.

"Let's go back to the manor."

As soon as Wang Simeng went downstairs, she heard people gasping for air in the lobby, and then she noticed that the first floor was unusually quiet.

Turning her head to look at the lobby on the first floor, she found everyone staring at her and couldn't help but touch her face in confusion. She didn't see anything wrong, so why was everyone staring at her? It was the same outside the store; did she have something on her face?

Thinking of this, Wang Simeng looked down at her clothes but didn't find anything unusual. Then she looked at Mo Beichen and Mo Mingxuan beside her. Nothing seemed wrong.

What's going on with these people?

Just as Wang Simeng was feeling confused, a sudden thought flashed through her mind, and she remembered what Mo Mingxuan had said at the palace gate earlier.

No woman had ever appeared beside Mo Beichen before, so her sudden appearance next to him immediately made her the focus of attention among the people.

Isn't this like being on the front page of an ancient news story? Wang Sicong couldn't help but chuckle at this thought.

Having learned about these people's situations, Wang Simeng calmed down. Let them watch; it's not a big deal anyway.
