Chapter 9 Cinema

Wang Ling'er tilted her head, blinked her big eyes, looked at Wang Simeng, and smiled, saying, "Okay, then from now on you'll be my Sister Meng. Sister Meng~"

She paused for a moment, as if suddenly realizing something, and asked incredulously and cautiously, "Sister Meng~ You wouldn't happen to be the owner of that legendary Wonderful Series Shop, would you?"

Wang Simeng chuckled: "What? Doesn't it look like it?"

"No, no, I just never thought that the legendary owner would have such a personality. I thought that someone who could run such a magical shop must be a cold and serious person. Who would have thought... hehe~" Wang Ling'er quickly waved her hand to explain.

"I never imagined I'd actually managed to latch onto such a powerful figure!" Wang Ling'er looked at Wang Simeng with sparkling eyes. Madam Wang smiled and shook her head.

The next day, Wang Simeng got up and ate breakfast. Thinking about visiting her good friend's home in ancient times for the first time, she was still somewhat excited.

I picked out a matching outfit from my walk-in closet—a unique, never-before-seen sister's outfit—and packed it up. I plan to give it to my best friend.

The two girls are so cute and playful; they look like fairies descended from heaven in this outfit. They also picked out a set of cosmetics for girls on the shopping page: a moisturizing face wash, toner, lotion, and serum set; sunscreen, BB cream, a peach-colored lipstick, an eyebrow pencil, and a Peppa Pig cartoon mirror to carry around.

I opened the mirror, and there was a small wooden comb on my face. I also bought a pink makeup bag, put all my cosmetics inside, and I was all done.

Thinking that I should also prepare a set of cosmetics for Madam Wang, I picked out a whitening and anti-aging skincare set and a bright red lipstick from the shopping page.

Everything was ready. I went downstairs and took a walk around the hotel. I also used my divine sense to inquire about the recent situation of the shops with Shuangxi and Xiangxiu, the shopkeepers who were far away in Qingshan Town.

The shops still attract a steady stream of customers every day, and are packed to capacity on the two weekly flash sale days. On the discount days, many merchants come to buy large quantities of food to resell in more distant places, increasing their profits.

Wang Simeng replenished another batch of goods on the conveyor belt on time. Now she replenishes every two days. Large orders are transported directly via the conveyor belt and can be picked up the next day. The profits are transmitted directly to Wang Simeng's space via the conveyor belt every two days.

Then she had Uncle Zhongyi buy a carriage, and installed a foldable sofa inside. A three-tiered folding trolley was fixed to the left, and a small hanging table was attached to the right. A double door was added to the side of the carriage. The front was decorated as a sliding door, and a projector screen was installed, giving it a bit of a motorhome feel. Wang Simeng was somewhat satisfied. She returned to her villa to continue watching her drama and lay down.

Before we knew it, the day for our visit arrived. We brought gifts, dressed in our sister outfits, boarded the newly renovated carriage, told the driver our address, and the carriage set off with a clatter.

He picked up the gifts, got out of the car, walked to the gate of the Wang residence, knocked on the door, and introduced himself. He was then invited inside by the servants. He hadn't gone far when a little girl of about ten years old ran up to him.

"Sister Meng~ You're finally here! I haven't seen you all day, I missed you so much!" Wang Ling'er hugged Wang Simeng's arm and said with a smile.

As the only daughter of the prefect's family, everyone knew that Wang Ling'er was very favored. When other young ladies from wealthy families of her age gathered, their conversations were always tinged with caution and ingratiation. This made Wang Ling'er feel lost and uncomfortable, and therefore she had no true friends.

"I miss you too," Wang Simeng said with a smile, patting Wang Ling'er's head and handing over the gift.

"I brought you a gift!"

"You're welcome to come, but what gift should I bring? I'd feel so embarrassed," Wang Ling'er said casually, but she immediately wanted to open the package to see what it contained.

After hesitating for a moment, I asked, "Can I open it and watch it now?"

"Haha, of course you can, it was originally a gift for you. Here, there's also a gift for Aunt Wang." As he spoke, he took out a gift for Madam Wang.

The two had a very pleasant conversation at the hotel last time. Mrs. Wang directly called Wang Simeng "Meng'er", and Wang Simeng called Mrs. Wang "Aunt Wang".

At this moment, Madam Wang also arrived with a smile. She instructed the maid who accompanied her to serve tea and refreshments.

Then, while holding Wang Simeng's hand, he said, "Meng'er, you don't know, these past two days Ling'er has been talking about you, saying she wants to build with you the blocks we brought back from the hotel. She won't even let me touch them, she just insists on building with you."

Wang Ling'er smiled and said, "Of course we should build it together! This is the first time I've made a friend. And these building blocks are a testament to how I met Sister Meng. I want to build it with Sister Meng."

“Okay, let’s work together.” Wang Simeng’s eyes were even more doting.

They chatted for almost the entire day. After lunch at the Wang residence, they spent the afternoon building blocks together with Wang Ling'er. After a while, a half-meter-tall model of a wondrous grand hotel was completed.

After checking the time, Wang Simeng decided to leave and was about to speak.

A maidservant approached Madam Wang and said, "Madam, Master is returning from his official duties and is on his way here."

No sooner had she finished speaking than a handsome middle-aged man in his thirties walked over. Ling'er had mentioned yesterday that she had excellent taste, having made a very capable friend who was also the owner of the Wonderful Shop—what a coincidence!

So, after finishing his business at the prefectural office, Prefect Wang left early and headed home. This was a man many people couldn't find even after trying to gather information, yet he was now in his own home, and even befriended his daughter?

Prefect Wang didn't intend to use this relationship for anything; after all, having more friends makes life easier, especially with such a mysterious person. Since it was his daughter's first time making a good friend, he wanted to observe the person's character and integrity.
