Upon hearing her voice, Old Zhang sprang up from his recliner.
"It's you, little girl..."
He personally went forward to greet him, a stark contrast to his previous attitude.
Shen Sisi guessed that Old Zhang would change his opinion of her, but she didn't expect such a strong reaction.
"Grandpa, you look great today!"
Chen Sisi wasn't in a hurry to talk business; he exchanged a few pleasantries first.
Old Zhang's usually stern face broke into a wrinkled smile: "How could I not feel energetic after using your medicated oil?"
He immediately showered Shen Sisi with praise: "Your medicated oil is really good. After I applied it last night, my arm didn't hurt as much, and the swelling went down when I woke up this morning. It's really great."
The blood stasis has dissipated, and he is now wearing a splint, waiting for his bones to heal.
Hearing that the medicated oil could help others, Shen Sisi was genuinely happy and even more determined to carry forward the business of medicated oil and benefit more people.
"If you think it's good, then I'm relieved. If you like it, I'll send you a few more bottles..."
Old Zhang declined, saying, "How could I possibly accept that..."
Chen Sisi laughed heartily, "Of course, I'm not giving this medicated oil away for free."
Upon hearing that there were conditions, his face immediately fell.
This little girl wouldn't be thinking of bribing him with two bottles of medicated oil, would she?
He even thought this girl was different from others, and that he had misjudged her.
Old Zhang was deep in thought and feeling extremely disappointed when he heard a silvery laugh.
"Old man, look how nervous you are... What I mean is, I'd like to ask you to be my living advertisement."
"If my Golden Phoenix brand medicated oil works well, then I'll trouble you to tell ten people; if my medicated oil doesn't work, then I'll trouble you to tell a hundred people, is that alright?"
Old Zhang was dumbfounded; it was the first time he had ever heard of such a "living advertisement."
Good words spread to ten people, bad words spread to a hundred.
Is she really that confident in her medicated oil?
Shen Sisi was very confident, of course. She had personally tested it and found it effective; even the people at the docks said it worked well.
Even if she's a liar, the eyes of the masses are discerning; they can't fake it.
"Good, good, good, you have guts, you're got the makings of a businessman."
Old Zhang's smile, which had disappeared, reappeared, and his gaze toward her now held a hint of appreciation.
"So... does this mean I've passed the first test with you?" Shen Sisi asked tentatively.
Yesterday she made a harsh statement, saying that if the old man used her medicated oil, he would see her conscience.
Old Zhang squinted and nodded: "I'll pass. If you can make this medicated oil so well, you can't be a person who goes against their conscience."
She immediately breathed a sigh of relief; a good start is half the battle.
Before she could even celebrate for a few seconds, Old Zhang turned around and gestured with his chin toward the middle-aged man behind him: "Young lady, don't be too happy yet. My family's oil mill is a hot commodity. Whether you'll get your hands on it is still uncertain!"
Shen Sisi understood his implied meaning and glanced at her competitor.
If the old man really intended to sell it to that person, would he still be wasting his breath arguing with her here?
From the moment she entered the door, the old woman never gave the buyer a kind look and barely said a few words to her.
It's obvious he doesn't like her, but he doesn't want to refuse her, so he's using her as a pretext.
He pondered deeply but didn't say anything, after all, older people are very concerned about saving face.
Since the old man wants to play along, let's just put on a show for him, make him happy, and then we can discuss the business.
So she pretended to be panicked and twisted her fingers, her expression incredibly exaggerated: "Old man, there's always a first-come, first-served order in business, right? I made an agreement with you yesterday, you can't sell it to anyone else!"
Old Zhang said smugly, "I'm offering you both the same terms. Whoever can do it first, I'll sell the oil mill to them."
"Okay, it's a deal!"
Chen Sisi readily agreed and called out to Xiao Jiang behind her, "Xiao Jiang, push the car in."
"Okay~"
Dong Xiaojiang mustered all his strength and pushed the car into the yard, immediately attracting everyone's attention.
"What kind of car is this...?"
"He looks really weird..."
Old Zhang and the group of people pointed and talked around the small wooden cart. None of them had ever seen this style before, and they found it quite novel.
Not to mention others, even Dong Xiaojiang didn't know where his sister Sisi got that weird car. As he drove, people stared at him like he was a monkey.
Shen Sisi didn't explain further, but simply said to Old Zhang, "Old man, you said yesterday that if I could lift that hammer by myself, you would agree to sell the oil mill to me, right?"
Before she could finish speaking, and before Old Zhang could say anything, the middle-aged man burst out laughing.
"Little girl, are you kidding me? How could you possibly lift the pendulum by yourself without help? It weighs several hundred pounds!"
Everyone burst into laughter, laughing at her for overestimating herself.
"Go back to your hometown, get married, and have children. Stop showing off here. Aren't you ashamed?"
These are all rough people, and they speak very crudely. In their eyes, a delicate and weak girl like Shen Sisi shouldn't be out showing her face in public.
Not to mention, they expect to carry things weighing hundreds of kilograms like men...
Chen Sisi's lips were tightly pressed together, and the anger that had been building up in her eyes could no longer be suppressed.
"Feudal society has been dead for so many years, why are you still putting on this show? Aren't these grown men ashamed?"
"What era are we living in? You still think women should stay home and have children? Women hold up half the sky these days, what gives you the right to look down on them?"
Her voice wasn't loud, but it was incredibly powerful.
She never had a kind word for these scumbags who disrespected and looked down on women.
