The oppressive aura emanating from that figure weighed heavily on the hearts of Hu Qu and the other powerful beings from the upper realm.
Hu Qu stared intently at the spot where the white light had dissipated, cold sweat already seeping from his back.
When Lin Zhou's illusory figure swept over him just now, he had a strange feeling that his soul was about to be scattered, as if the other party could completely annihilate him with just a thought.
It was a terrifying power far exceeding the level of Dao Proving, even reminding him of the legendary old monsters in the sect.
"You...you're the one who shattered the aftershocks of the Heavenly Road that day?" Hu Qu suppressed his fear, his voice trembling slightly. "You're definitely not a cultivator from the Cangxuan Realm. Which region do you come from?"
Lin Zhou's phantom image had already appeared at the edge of the battlefield, his white robe spotless, as if he had never moved.
He glanced at Hu Qu, too lazy to even respond—it was a waste of words to deal with such a clown.
His gaze swept over the twelve people from the upper realm, and when it landed on a few familiar faces, a faint smile appeared on his lips.
Those people were the same guys who tried to project themselves into the Cangxuan Realm a few years ago, but he casually grabbed them and refined them into "boundary wall nourishment". Unexpectedly, they came in person this time.
"Old friend, we meet again." Lin Zhou tapped his fingertip lightly.
There was no earth-shattering display, not even a fluctuation of spiritual energy; only a barely perceptible flash of white light—
"puff!"
Just as Zhang San was about to retreat, his head exploded without warning, splattering purple-gold blood and brain matter all over the people around him. He died without understanding why he had suddenly died.
silence.
A deathly silence.
Hu Qu and the other eleven people's pupils suddenly contracted, and their bodies stiffened.
Zhang San is a Dao-proving level expert. Even if he can't beat them, he's definitely not someone who can be so easily killed!
But Lin Zhou merely moved his finger, as if crushing an ant... This level of strength was beyond their comprehension!
What exactly do you want?
Hu Qu's voice finally broke down, filled with barely concealed panic. Only now did he realize that the person before him was someone they could not possibly contend with, and that his previous arrogance had been a complete joke.
Lin Zhou ignored him, but simply raised his hand, his five fingers loosely clenched.
"Buzz—"
An invisible force instantly enveloped Hu Qu and the other eleven people. The purple-gold spiritual power within their bodies suddenly went out of control, and their limbs were bound by countless invisible chains, making them unable to move.
Hu Qu roared and struggled, channeling all his spiritual power. His pressure as a Domain Lord reached its peak, but the invisible force remained unmoved. Instead, it tightened, making their bones creak.
"Don't waste your energy." Lin Zhou said calmly, his voice echoing across the battlefield. "Your physical bodies and spiritual power are still somewhat useful to this world."
He flicked his finger, and twelve streams of light flew out, landing in the center of the battlefield and transforming into twelve stone pillars engraved with runes. The stone pillars glowed with a soft blue light, connecting with each other to form a huge array, trapping Hu Qu and the other eleven people in the center.
"This formation is called 'Nurturing the Realm'."
Lin Zhou's voice carried a hint of etherealness, "The spiritual energy within your bodies will be drawn out by the formation, continuously nourishing the spiritual energy of the Cangxuan Realm until it is completely exhausted. Consider it... paying some interest for your previous slaughter."
The moment the formation was activated, Hu Qu and the others felt their spiritual energy flowing out like a flood, converging into the stone pillars and then spreading along the earth's veins to all parts of the Cangxuan Realm.
They screamed and struggled in terror, but they couldn't move a single finger and could only watch helplessly as their strength was slowly drained away.
After doing all this, Lin Zhou looked at Xiao Chen.
Xiao Chen was sitting cross-legged in the pit, circulating his spiritual energy to stabilize his newly broken through to the Tribulation Transcending Realm. Sensing Lin Zhou's gaze, he opened his eyes, cupped his hands in greeting, and said, "Thank you, Master."
"Now that you've broken through, don't just sit there." Lin Zhou smiled, then looked at Jiang Li and Shi Tou, who was still beating the enemy. "You can deal with the rest of the small fry yourselves."
As soon as he finished speaking, his figure turned into specks of white light and completely disappeared into the world, as if he had never existed.
Qian Gan, Yan Su, Gui Xuan, and other surviving Dao Inquiry Realm elders struggled to their feet and bowed deeply in the direction where Lin Zhou had disappeared.
Looking at the "World-Nourishing Array" that trapped eleven domain lords, Qian Gan was filled with emotion: "I underestimated Senior Lin... I thought he was at the peak of the Dao Proving Realm, but I never expected... that the Dao Proving Realm is like an ant in front of him."
Yan Su clutched his injured shoulder, his eyes filled with awe: "With such a figure around, our Cangxuan Realm... has nothing to worry about."
On the other side of the battlefield, the disciples from the upper realm were already terrified.
Looking at Hu Qu and the others who were trapped by the formation and whose spiritual energy was constantly being drained, Li Ran recalled Zhang San's shattered head, and a chill ran from the soles of his feet to the top of his head.
Their proud elders were so easily defeated in the eyes of the other side, so what were they, the disciples, worth?
"Run!" someone shouted, as if lighting a fuse.
The disciples from the upper realm lost all will to fight. They threw down their weapons and ran frantically toward the Heavenly Road passage, wishing they had more legs.
"Trying to run?" Jiang Li's eyes turned cold, and she drew her rusty iron sword in a sharp arc, blocking the disciples at the front. "When you were slaughtering the cultivators of my Cangxuan Realm just now, didn't you ever think that this day would come?"
The sword flashed, blood splattered, and the disciples were decapitated before they could even scream.
"Kill! Don't let a single one escape!" Xiao Chen leaped out of the pit, his spiritual power surging within him. His rusty iron spear pointed directly at the fleeing disciples, its spear light like a dragon, instantly piercing through the chests of the three.
Shi Tou became even more ferocious, swinging his black iron fist in a wide arc, smashing it into the crowd like a pile driver. Each punch sent a group of disciples flying, and the sounds of bones shattering and screams of agony rose and fell.
