Chapter 109 Five Years

Chapter 109 Five Years

The international TInN art organization cooperated with the domestic art association to hold an international art exchange meeting. They planned to ship three original paintings back to China and send people to coordinate project work and exhibition arrangements.

Chen Zhan is Chinese. Department manager Anna assigned this task to her and also sent two colleagues to go back with her.

Having worked at TInN headquarters for two years, Chen Zhan's outstanding abilities were obvious to everyone in the department. When she submitted her resignation letter, Anna tried to retain her many times but to no avail.

"Cynthia, if you don't change your mind, this is the last project you'll be in charge of, and I sincerely hope you'll stay."

Anna looked at the beautiful oriental girl in front of her who looked like she had walked out of an ancient painting, with deep regret in her eyes.

Chen Zhan picked up the brown coat next to her and put it on. Five years had made her facial features more delicate and beautiful, but her scholarly temperament had not changed, making her particularly popular both at school and in the company.

She said apologetically, "I haven't been back home for five years since I left home to study. My grandmother called a while ago and said she was getting worse. I wanted to go back and be with her."

Anna heard this and said, "After this international art exhibition, I will give you a month-long vacation. You can spend the Spring Festival with your parents in China and then come here. How about that?"

In fact, Chen Zhan had already made career plans for herself before returning this time, but no matter what, Anna didn't want her to resign.

When she finished her undergraduate studies, she decided to stay for graduate studies. On the recommendation of her advisor, she interviewed with TInN and has been working under Anna ever since. As an assistant with a good personality and strong work ethic, she was naturally reluctant to see Chen Zhan leave.

But Chen Zan will go back eventually. Although there may no longer be a place for her in that home, she has not forgotten what she wanted to do and will not stay abroad forever.

The man and woman traveling with Chen Zhan, Ian and Amy, are colleagues in charge of this project, and Chen Zhan is the team leader.

Before the plane landed at the Beijing airport, Amy and Ian became excited. In recent years, China has occupied a very important position in terms of international influence.

The comments from colleagues and classmates who came back from domestic tours were all positive. Ian and Amy had wanted to come for a long time. This time, the trip was funded by the government, and the flight time of more than ten hours could not resist the temptation of trying the delicious food in Beijing as soon as they landed.

They would also come to ask Chen Zhan what delicious food and fun things there were in Beijing, but she would just shake her head and answer, "I've only been there once, so I don't know."

Amy felt a little regretful when she heard that, "It's okay, when we finish work, we can play together."

They landed at the airport in the afternoon. The Art Association arranged for someone to pick them up and drive them directly to the hotel next to the exhibition.

Colleagues from the Art Association told Chen Zan and others that the hotel has a shuttle bus that can go directly into the park.

After adding each other's contact information, Chen Zhan pushed the suitcase into the room. The winter in Beijing is always very cold. Now it is the end of December, and she is wearing a cashmere coat. If there is no heating in the room, she will not be able to bear it.

I opened my suitcase and found there was no thick down jacket. I had to find some free time to buy one. I also tied a scarf around my neck before going out.

After making an appointment to go to the park in half an hour, Chen Zan went downstairs to order a cup of coffee. After waiting for a few minutes, the other two colleagues came downstairs.

The park where the jointly organized art exchange exhibition is held is very large. I heard that it is a new regulation in Beijing, divided into many areas, and many high-tech enterprises have settled in it.

On weekdays, there were many cars parked outside. When they got out of the car, they found that the opposite side was cordoned off and a cordon was set up. There were also many Public Security Bureau Special Service personnel outside to maintain order.

Ian didn't expect to encounter such a big scene as soon as he got off the car. He thought a big case had happened here. The person in charge of communicating with Chen Zan and others from the Art Association was a highly educated woman named Jiang Yunqin.

She looks very intellectual, and the layered outfit of a big wavy shirt, sweater and vest makes her look like an art master.

He smiled and explained to Chen Zhan and the others, "There's an industry financial summit being held across the street today, and there are government leaders coming, so security is tighter than usual. Aside from cars not being allowed in, nothing else will affect us."

After listening to this, Chen Zan realized that this was the case.

After introducing each other, Jiang Yunqin said to Chen Zhan, "I heard that there are Chinese people among the people sent by TInN this time, but I don't believe it. This organization's headquarters is notoriously difficult to get into. I once had a classmate who submitted a resume abroad and was rejected in the second round. Miss Chen, you are really amazing."

Chen Zhan smiled and replied, "No, the headquarters hired my mentor as a temporary consultant and they happened to bring me in. I was able to get in through my mentor's backdoor."

Jiang Yunqin: "Ms. Chen, you are too modest."

After praising each other for a while, we went to the exhibition hall to get our work badges and started our official work, avoiding some unnecessary socializing.

The Art Association had arranged a welcoming banquet for us, and we were all going to have dinner together that evening. It got dark early; it wasn't even six o'clock yet, but it was already dark outside.

Chen Zan and the others were waiting for a car outside. There were fewer people on the opposite side, but the cordon and police cars had not been removed. They said that the summit would last for two days, and there would be another day tomorrow.
