Chapter 55【VIP】

Chapter 55【VIP】

Time came to evening.

The head maid briefly taught them some etiquette, and then left to take charge of the banquet hosted by the royal family in the evening.

As a newcomer, Jian Yue's task was to do some odd jobs, go back and forth in the kitchen, and put delicious food on the table.

After setting the food on several tables, Jian Yue was so tired that her back and waist ached. Seeing all those delicious foods, she even lost her appetite and just wanted to rest.

But she was already a maid, so how could she have time to rest? As soon as she was free here, she was called to help from the other end.

She was still wearing the ill-fitting maid outfit, with the sleeves falling off every two steps, which greatly affected her work efficiency.

Since there was no rubber band, she could only roll it up several times, but it still couldn't resist the pull of gravity.

She was already incredibly busy, but who would have thought that a piece of clothing would get in the way? Jian Yue felt incredibly sad.

Time gradually turned to evening.

The carriages outside the palace were moving cautiously, and the banquet hall was gradually filled with noise and chatter.

The crystal chandeliers in the hall cast a luxurious halo, illuminating the gilded tableware like molten gold. The orchestra had already begun playing melodious music, and the elegantly dressed nobles danced to the notes, chatting with people over glasses of champagne.

Jian Yue carried a silver tray and walked among the elegantly dressed people, carefully watching her step.

The king was already seated on the main throne, addressing the people below.

Jian Yue's mind was not on the above, and her eyes were searching for Henry in the crowd.

But even if she saw Henry, he would not remember her.

She was assigned to stand at the Regent's dining table. Although she was only three steps away from the long table covered with a velvet tablecloth, it felt like there was a boiling Styx between them.

He hasn't come yet.

Jian Yue stared at the silver plate in a daze.

She had only lived five days, but it felt like years.

What does Sinderel feel after actually living through the five years?

Does he...still remember himself?

"The Regent has arrived!——"

The moment the orchestral music suddenly paused, the boisterous voices in the banquet hall seemed to be strangled by an invisible hand, and even the light reflected by the crystal chandelier seemed to be frozen in mid-air. Jian Yue's hand, holding the silver tray, trembled slightly. Following the suddenly stiffened gazes of all the nobles, she looked out the carved archway.

Tick, tick, tick.

An inky cloak swept across the marble floor of the corridor, and a golden figure appeared at the intersection of light and shadow.

Jian Yue heard the maid behind her gasping for air and the deafening sound of her own heartbeat.

The man was tall and slender, and the dark patterns on his dark grey velvet suit reflected a metallic luster in the candlelight. His long blond hair was neatly tied behind his head, with a few strands of hair hanging down at the side of his neck, which made his face look even paler like porcelain.

He did not wear any extra accessories, only the cross on his earlobe was eye-catching.

It's him.

It's Sindriel.

Jian Yue's heart was pounding, and she almost couldn't control her emotions and blurted out his name.

As he walked through the crowd toward his seat, the nobles on both sides bowed and saluted. Even the most arrogant duke stopped smiling, his fat cheeks forced into a stiff expression of respect.

Jian Yue noticed that he was wearing a black silk glove on his left hand, and his fingertips were holding a roll of parchment, his knuckles turning white from the force.

"Your Highness the Regent." The master of ceremonies' voice trembled slightly. "His Majesty the King has been waiting for you for a long time."

Sinderel didn't respond, not even glancing at the drunken king in the main seat. His gaze swept across the room indifferently, and when he passed Jian Yue in the corner, his emerald pupils remained calm, as if she were just an ordinary, insignificant person.

It was not until he saw the half-naked maid in the king's arms that he frowned slightly.

"Since the king is busy with important matters, I don't think I need to bother him." He threw the parchment on the table and took a sip of his wine glass.

Jian Yue's heart suddenly skipped a beat - she saw a very faint red mark accidentally revealed on his left arm when he took the wine.

Perhaps her name is engraved there.

The head maid suddenly raised her elbow and lowered her voice to the maids serving the Regent, "Hurry up and give the Regent some more wine!"

Everyone looked at each other, and no one dared to go up.

The head maid was furious, grabbed a maid by the collar at random, pushed her out, and poured wine for Sinderel.

However, the poor girl did not stand firmly and bumped into the corner of Sinderel's table. The collision caused a few drops of dark red wine in the wine cup to spill onto the white velvet tablecloth.

Sinderel's expression instantly darkened, and the black-robed follower behind him immediately stepped forward and drew his sword.

The maid rolled around on the ground before she stopped. She knelt before the Regent, trembling all over. "I'm sorry, Your Majesty! I didn't mean to do that! Please forgive me!"

"You are so clumsy," the guard rebuked him in a low voice, and then asked his noble king, "May I ask your Majesty, how should we deal with this?"

"Whatever you like." The blond regent picked up the wine cup and shook the wine slightly.

Following a shrill scream, Jian Yue's heart was in her throat.

So, in full view of everyone, the girl's life ended on the red carpet.

The dark red color slowly permeated the red carpet, and the girl looked on sadly.

The noise happened in just a split second. When the girl's body was dragged away by the servants, they were silent as if nothing had happened.

Jian Yue said to Xindrel.

His appearance remained the same, but his temperament was more stable, which made her feel extremely unfamiliar at this moment.

Why on earth?

Why did Sindriel become like this?

Is this what Kidd wanted to see?!

The extravagant and noisy atmosphere of the banquet hall suddenly turned into a blurred background sound at this moment, leaving only the soft sound of the Sinderel cups clinking, echoing repeatedly in her ears.

Jian Yue stared at his slender fingers in a daze.

And then—"Fill me with wine!"

A rough voice suddenly sounded from the side - it was the lord sitting on the side, the perverted lord who had come to whisper before.

Jian Yue was so frightened that she nearly knocked over the tray. She hurriedly picked up the silver pot, but as the spout tilted, she suddenly changed her mind and deliberately brushed her fingertips against the back of the lord's hand. The slightly cool touch made the lord pause in his fruit-eating motion.

"I'm sorry, sir." She lowered her eyes, and her thick eyelashes cast a small silhouette under her eyes.

The red wine on the tray created tiny specks of light, and Sinderel looked over.

This gaze was noticed by Jian Yue who was paying attention to him, but it only stayed on her face for half a second before turning to the farce on the king's side.

The old king, seated in the main seat, roughly stuffed a pearl necklace into the bodice of a beautiful woman, drawing laughter from the surrounding nobles. The beauty's face was as pale as paper, and the edge of the pearls left a red mark on her chest. Suddenly, as if choking on something, the king slammed his goblet to the ground, "The wine has gone bad! Drag her away and give her fifty lashes!"

Two guards immediately lifted up the frightened wine waiter. The boy was only fifteen or sixteen years old, and his cries were soon drowned out by the music and the indifferent laughter of the people.

Jian Yue dug her nails deep into her palms. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw that Sinderel's knuckles were turning white as he held the knife and fork, but in the end he just put the cut venison into his thin lips. Even when his Adam's apple rolled, the lines of his neck remained cold and hard.

"New here?" The fat lord spoke to her, squinting his eyes and looking at her, his gold ring gleaming brightly in the candlelight.

His eyes were almost sunken in the fat, his gaze never leaving Jian Yue's purple eyes. He sighed in admiration: "Really... such beautiful eyes! More delicious than the purple grapes on the table!" He reached out to embrace Jian Yue, "Come, play with me."

Jian Yue subconsciously took a step back, and the tray in her hand fell to the ground with a crisp sound.

"My Lord."

A bony hand tapped lightly on the table.

"I'm sorry, this is my maid. She doesn't know the rules. I will discipline her after I get back. I have other beauties around me, you can choose any one you want." Xindrel's tone was calm, but the lord's cold sweat slid down his temples, and he withdrew his hand embarrassedly.

The lord snorted, took a pretty woman in his arms and left.

However, Jian Yue still heard the curse he uttered as he left - "Satan's running dog."

She lowered her head, wondering whether being rescued was a good thing or a bad thing.

Suddenly, someone grabbed her wrist.

Immediately, a huge force pulled her forward. When she came to her senses, she was sitting on a person.

Her waist and wrists were gently caught by someone, and she was like a frightened bird, panicking and running into those calm green eyes.

This was the first time she looked directly into Sinderel's uncovered face.

He has really changed.

All the gentleness that she used to conceal herself disappeared, the soft contours became angular, and the deep eye sockets were slightly bruised and bloodshot, obviously caused by lack of rest.

It was like going back to the past, when he stayed up all night to make all the clothes for her. He couldn't even open his eyes, but he still forced himself to eat the buns she made.

Still very beautiful.

The edges of her golden hair were coated with a layer of light, and her trembling eyelashes were also painted with a thin layer of white, like the gods on Michelangelo's canvas, extremely perfect.

Jian Yue opened her lips slightly, and her previous fear of him faded a little after seeing his eyes that were lacking rest.

A little bastard who doesn't take care of himself.

"—You seem to be looking forward to my punishment." Suddenly, Sinderel spoke, pulling Jian Yue out of her reverie. He looked her down, his face expressionless and cold. "Your eyes tell me you're distracted—am I less attractive than the things in your mind?"

The fear that disappeared in that moment returned again.

Jian Yue immediately came to her senses and tried to get off Sinderel.

However, the other party had no intention of letting her go. He only exerted a little force on the hand on her waist and trapped her in his arms.

"You've been very rude to me." Sinderel narrowed his eyes, a dangerous tone emanating from his words. "I can't guarantee that I'll be magnanimous enough to let you go the next time you resist."

"I'm sorry, Your Majesty!" Jian Yue apologized hastily, her slender eyebrows furrowed tightly. "I, I'm new here and don't know the etiquette!"

The hand on her wrist relaxed, then gradually moved upwards, caressing her neck and pinching her jaw. "Lack of etiquette doesn't mean you lack common sense. I rescued you from that perverted lord and forgave you for your unreasonableness. You should thank me." He applied a little force, pinching her fragile skin red. "It's soft enough and can withstand a single blow."

Deep in his eyes seemed to be a poisonous snake lurking, ready to strangle its prey.

And the person he wanted to strangle was Jian Yue, who was at the center of his pupil.

He could clearly feel the trembling of the person on top of him, as well as her trembling yet trying to steady her breathing. He knew she was afraid.

Fearing that he would suffer the same fate as that maid, or become a toy, a sacrifice in this absurd banquet.

"You bumped into him on purpose." He saw through her little trick and played with it. "As a maid serving me, you're trying to please someone else. You're provoking me."

Having her thoughts seen through, Jian Yue simply looked him in the eye boldly and bluntly: "Yes."

"Why."

"I despise your worthless life, but I need someone to rely on."

"So, even if he touches you, you are unwilling to share the joy with me?"

Jian Yue looked straight at him: "Yes."

When Jian Yue was dragged out of the banquet hall by Xindrel holding her arm, the floor of the banquet hall was a mess - an overturned fruit plate, broken wine glasses, and a dirty apron.

The wall lamp in the corridor flickered, the man's steps were fast and urgent, and the temperature of his palms was so hot that she almost burned.

She tried to break free, but he threw her into a room.

She slammed into the wall, her entire body aching, even down to her bones. Before she could whimper, Sinderel's hand clamped around her neck, stifling her screams.

A cold cufflink, or perhaps a gasp, brushed against her earlobe: "Are you in need of support?"

His breath, mixed with the scent of cedar and alcohol, sprayed on her face, and his eyes, as cold as ice, shone surprisingly brightly in the dim light.

The shackles around her neck tightened, making even breathing increasingly difficult. Jian Yue's heartbeat was like a drum, and her red lips unconsciously parted, desperately craving for the rarefied air.

"Your Majesty..." She tried to struggle, not wanting to die on the spot.

"Shh..."

After the breathy sound, there was a passionate kiss.

The other person kissed her fiercely, with such force that it seemed as if he wanted to tear her bones apart and eat her.

Jian Yue's back was pressed against the cold wall. The person in front of her was pressing her so hard that her spine seemed to be crushed.

She could feel his hand that was pinching her neck trembling slightly, as if he was suppressing something, or confirming something.

"It's a pity that you chose the wrong person to rely on," he whispered between her lips, his voice very hoarse, "It's better to choose me than him - but you don't have a choice."

He kissed her without any method, like a hungry cub, biting her lips, sucking everything of her madly, and then rolling his Adam's apple to swallow it.

Just as his fever grew more intense, a cool tear brought him back to his senses.

The tear fell on the back of his hand. The man paused, as if burned by the tear.

The girl's lips were sucked until they turned even redder, and her purple eyes were tearful, with red at the corners. She was clearly being humiliated, but she didn't let herself cry out. She just bit her lip tightly, watching and accepting everything he brought her with grievance.

The laughter from the party outside the window made the silence in the room seem even longer, with only the overlapping breathing of the two people as the sound.

He watched silently, the strength in his hands gradually loosened, and he took two steps back.

"What's your name?" he asked.

Jian Yue wiped her lips vigorously, holding back tears as she said, "My name is humble, so it's better not to dirty His Majesty's ears!"

Sinderel looked her up and down.

"Heh..." He pulled the corner of his mouth.

Then he slammed the door and left.

Only Jian Yue was left in the empty room.

She wiped away her tears with trembling hands and squatted on the ground along the wall.

Her fingers unconsciously touched her swollen lips, where the marks of his bite were still visible.

She wasn't crying because of the kiss.

But she actually had an inappropriate feeling for this strange and cold-blooded stranger.
