Chapter 1 Prologue
In September, Beijing has lost the summer heat and humidity. The gray mist in the air has been swept away, the sky is clear blue, and the sunlight is warm but not scorching.
The mottled shadows of the trees fell on the courtyard wall. Through the huge floor-to-ceiling windows, the maids in the villa were busy in an orderly manner. Three boys were gathered around the exquisite baby stroller.
"Brother, why is a sister a sister?" the shortest little boy asked curiously, stretching out his chubby little hand and pointing at the baby in the stroller.
Ten-year-old Shen Yanheng frowned slightly, thinking about how to explain to his brother the differences between boys and girls.
Shen Sichen had already hit Shen Sujing on the head with a slap, "You are an idiot!"
"Don't touch your sister with your hands!"
"Xiaochen! You hit your brother again!"
A gentle female voice came from behind, and the three little kids immediately stood in a row obediently.
Shen Sichen raised his head and said, "Mom, my brother is good at picking up my sister!"
The woman, with a white shawl draped over her shoulders, walked to the cradle and looked at her little daughter who was sleeping soundly inside. Her chubby little face looked white and tender, and was much prettier than those three little brats when they were little.
"No! My sister is still young now. When she grows up a little, you can play with her." The woman said softly, shaking the cradle a few times.
The housekeeper came over quietly and lowered her voice: "Madam, a guest is here."
Chen Musheng nodded as if it was normal. He had seen at least a dozen guests in the past few months. The fact that Aunt Zhang came to notify him meant that he couldn't refuse.
"Whose family?" Chen Musheng asked. The three brats had already been chased upstairs by her.
"He's a newcomer from the yard next door."
Chen Musheng was a little surprised. She had only heard from Shen Gengli that the person who moved in was an important figure with a deep background, a third-generation red from a legitimate military and political family. She had not thought of visiting him, but she didn't expect that he would come first?
But why this sudden visit?
"Please come in first. It's not good to keep people waiting for a long time."
"yes."
Chen Musheng walked to the sofa and sat down, tucked her shawl around her, and asked the servant to bring new tea and some fruit and pastries.
After a while, Aunt Zhang led a woman in. She was wearing exquisite high heels, a swaying cheongsam, had a graceful face, and her hair was tied behind her head with a wooden hairpin. She was holding a little boy in her hands, and two servants followed behind her carrying the gifts she had brought.
"Mrs. Shen, I am sorry to bother you. I heard that you gave birth to a daughter, so I came to share in your happiness."
The woman smiled softly, and her voice was as comfortable as the spring breeze in March.
"You're so polite." Chen Musheng stood up and took two steps forward. He then looked at the little boy she was holding. He looked about the same age as Xiaochen, seven years old. He looked young, but his face was serious. "What is this...?"
"Oh, this is my son, Shi Chengyu." The woman chuckled.
Chen Musheng could hardly hide his surprise. It turned out her last name was Shi. No wonder.
"Chengyu, say hello to Aunt Chen." The woman gently pushed the boy two steps forward.
Shi Chengyu raised his head, his eyes were dark and shiny, but also looked deep, "Hello, Aunt Chen."
"Hey, hello, you're so pretty." Chen Musheng wanted to touch his head, but felt offended. In the end, he patted his shoulders twice and asked, "Do you want to go see your sister?"
After seeing Shi Chengyu nodded, she called Aunt Zhang over and took him to the cradle.
Xue Wanqiu looked at Shi Chengyu who was walking away, smiled faintly, and sat down on the sofa with Chen Musheng. After exchanging names, they began to chat about family matters.
When women get together, the topic is nothing more than gossip about family matters, but in a family like theirs, there is very little to talk about at home.
One is a strong woman working in the business world, and the other is a dancer who loves art. Their interests and hobbies are very different. Fortunately, they both like baking, and they ended up chatting about it.
Shen Sichen ran out of the room at some point and wanted to go downstairs to see his sister, but when he found out there were guests downstairs, he stopped and leaned on the railing on the third floor to look down.
When he saw an unfamiliar child looking at his sister, he called Shen Yanheng and Shen Sujing out. The three of them lay down in a row and looked down. The servants beside them were so scared that they dared not leave.
"Brother, will he take my sister away?"
"Impossible! My sister will always be our sister. If he dares to snatch her away, I will beat him up!"
Shen Sichen said this, but his eyes were fixed on the ground without blinking. His sister had never grabbed his hand before! How could that boy grab it first?
As they chatted, the two felt that they had met too late. Seeing that it was getting late, they agreed on a time to meet next time. Then Xue Wanqiu stood up and followed Chen Musheng to the cradle.
The little girl in the cradle was only four months old. Her round, bright eyes were particularly attractive on her fair face. One of her little hands was holding one of Shi Chengyu's fingers and playing with it, and she giggled from time to time.
"By the way, you haven't asked her name yet?" Xue Wanqiu's heart almost melted as she looked at the doll-like little girl in the cradle.
"My name is Shen Chutang."
"Gantang Zhihui, the original intention remains unchanged. It's a good name." Xue Wanqiu said, and then asked: "Do you have a nickname?"
Seeing his daughter being so well-loved, Chen Musheng also had a bit of pride on his face, "Yes, but I haven't decided on the name yet."
"I wanted to call her Jiaojiao, a female version of Jiaojiao, but her dad insisted on using Jiao, which means proud. The pronunciation is the same anyway. The three brats wanted to call her Tangtang, and I couldn't win the argument, so I let them call her that."
Having a new member in the family is a happy and big event. I don’t know what those three brats have learned recently, they’ve been clamoring about autonomy, voting rights, and they even want to name their sister.
Xue Wanqiu felt a little regretful, but still smiled a few times: "They are all good words."
"Tangtang seems to like Chengyu very much." Chen Musheng felt a little embarrassed when he saw his little daughter holding someone else's hand.
Xue Wanqiu followed her words and asked: "Chengyu, do you like Tangtang?"
"like."
The voice was still a little childish, but he spoke very seriously, with even the corners of his lips raised as he spoke, as if he had been waiting for this day for a long time.
【Written in the front: This book is a sweet story world after the ending of the previous quick-travel sad story, a pure hawthorn-filled sweet cookie! There is a slight mention of the previous life, but it does not affect the viewing at all. The two people have suffered for so long, this time I must give me a lot of sweetness! It is an imaginary virtual world, everything has nothing to do with reality, please do not bring it in! Shi Chengyu remembers things in his previous life, so he will be more mature. It is impossible for a semi-cultivation system to write from Tangtang’s birth to the age of sixteen, haha. I chose to fast forward directly, so there will be a lot of memories and introductions in the first few chapters, and it will be fine later. It is a pure sweet story with a HE warm healing direction. There is a slightly sad part in the middle, which will be marked. If you see it, be mentally prepared. I wish you all a happy reading! 】
