Chapter 10 That's Your Home Too
Shi Chengyu picked up the biscuit, placed it in the palm of his hand, and rubbed it gently with his fingers.
The villa was very quiet. After a long while, Shi Chengyu's voice sounded a little lonely, "Let's go to Wuhua Villa."
"Uncle Shang."
“All the sofas and carpets have been replaced.”
Shi Chengyu ordered without any expression and walked out. Lin Shulan stepped forward, bent over and opened the car door.
The journey was silent and quiet, Shi Chengyu just stared at the biscuit in his hand in a daze.
The black Maybach stopped at the foot of Wuhua Mountain. The guard knocked on the car window and said, "Hello, this is a private villa. No trespassing."
Lin Shulang nodded to the guard and said, "We are friends of Mr. Shen Sanshao, and we are here to visit Mr. Shen. Please let him know that Mr. Shi is here."
The man in the back seat couldn't see his expression, but the pressure he exuded was hard to ignore. The guard saluted, went back to the guard room and made a phone call, and soon the barrier was raised and the car was allowed to pass.
The car drove up the mountain. The road was quiet and the street lights on both sides cast a faint light.
When Shen Sujing heard the housekeeper say that a Mr. Shi was coming, he guessed that it was Shi Chengyu and waited at the gate of the villa early.
"Brother Chengyu."
Shi Chengyu got out of the car, glanced around, and asked, "Where's Tangtang?"
"Tangtang is playing in the back hills, with someone accompanying her."
Shen Sujing led him inside, "I don't know what this little girl did today. As soon as she got home, she yelled that she wanted to leave."
He got back into the car without even changing his shoes when he got home.
Shi Chengyu said nothing and followed Shen Sujing up to the second floor to visit Mr. Shen.
Shen Boyu was watching the news broadcast in the living room. When he saw Shen Sujing and his men coming in, he thought it was the second in command. But when he looked closely, he realized it was a stranger.
"Hello, Master Shen. I'm Shi Chengyu. I'm sorry to bother you as I came in a hurry." Shi Chengyu smiled gently and extended his hand to him.
Shen Boyu looked at him, stopped waving the palm-leaf fan, and reached out to shake his hand, "From the Shi family?"
Shi Chengyu had also heard about things related to Tangtang, or those in Beijing, but he didn't expect that the first time they met would be here.
"Yes." Shi Chengyu responded.
"Okay, I'm an old man and I don't have much to talk to you about. Go play with Xiaojing."
Shen Boyu waved his palm-leaf fan, unable to guess why he came to see Shen San so late at night. However, he had long since stopped caring about the things in Beijing and was enjoying himself in the villa.
Shen Boyu didn't understand, but Shen Sujing knew that he was here to find Tangtang, so he led his men to the back mountain.
From a distance, Shi Chengyu saw the little person sitting by the stream. He was wearing a white ruffled floral top and loose blue denim shorts. His arms and legs were exposed. He was sitting on a rock by the stream, holding a big watermelon, with his cheeks bulging.
Shi Chengyu just looked at her like that for a while, then walked over, took off his suit and put it on Shen Chutang, "Tangtang."
The familiar cool breath instantly enveloped Shen Chutang. She turned around and saw Shi Chengyu squatting beside her. "Brother Chengyu?"
"What brings you here?"
She had already eaten most of the watermelon in her arms. Shi Chengyu picked up the watermelon and handed it to the servant next to him, and then took her feet out of the stream.
The stream water was already cold, and she didn't know how long she had been soaking in it. Shi Chengyu held it in his hand, and it felt like he was holding an ice cube in his palm. "Where are your shoes?"
Shen Chutang smiled embarrassedly and said, "It was washed away."
Shi Chengyu was helpless. The little girl was unhappy, and he didn't even dare to sigh, let alone blame her.
Shi Chengyu picked him up and whispered, "You didn't eat, but you ate so much ice watermelon. The stream water is so cool, why did you soak in it for so long?"
It doesn't sound like a blame, but more like a helpless complaint.
Shen Chutang snorted softly, hugged his neck, and wanted to bite him angrily, but held back, "I don't want to eat, watermelon is delicious, I want to soak for that long."
Shi Chengyu patted her on the back. He couldn't do anything to her. He could only sigh and call out, "Good boy Tangtang."
"Brother Chengyu hasn't eaten yet, can you eat something with me?"
Shen Chutang turned his head to the other side, "Aren't you going to eat with your friends?"
"What friends?" Shi Chengyu asked puzzledly.
"It's the beautiful sister who came home today. She is waiting for you at home." Shen Chutang did not notice the sourness in her tone, nor did he know that this emotion was called jealousy.
Shi Chengyu stroked her back and said, "I don't know her."
Of course Shen Chutang didn't believe it, so she turned her head to the other side, and her hair brushed against Shi Chengyu's chin.
"She said she was your good friend and called you Chengyu."
Only very close people can call each other by their names, and she knew Shi Chengyu before herself.
The deep sense of loss in Shen Chutang's voice was like a bucket of cold water poured over Shi Chengyu. He hugged her tighter and stroked her head with one hand, "Tangtang, that's her. I've never spoken a word to her and I don't even know what she looks like."
"If Tangtang is unhappy, she can tell Brother Chengyu. If she leaves without saying a word, Brother Chengyu will be sad."
Someone gently stroked the back of his neck. Shen Chutang raised her head and rubbed it against his neck. "Brother Chengyu, I'm sorry."
Her heart softened in an instant, and Shi Chengyu lowered his head and kissed the top of her head, "Brother Chengyu doesn't want you to apologize, he's just worried about you."
Shi Chengyu would rather she lose her temper than see her alone and lost.
"Brother Chengyu, I'm a little unhappy." Shen Chutang leaned on his shoulder and said in a muffled voice.
"A little bit?" Shi Chengyu asked.
Shen Chutang stopped talking and bit his neck. "I don't like her."
"Okay." Shi Chengyu comforted her, "We won't see each other again."
"I don't like other women coming to your house either." Shen Chutang raised his head and added.
Shi Chengyu laughed and looked into her eyes, "That's your home too."
"There won't be a next time."
Shen Chutang's sad mood eased a lot, and she lay on his shoulder obediently and quickly returned to the villa. Shi Chengyu carried her back to Shen Chutang's room and found socks for her to put on.
"What do you want to eat? Can I make it for you?"
The servant brought new slippers, and Shen Chutang held his arm to help him put them on. "Auntie made wontons tonight, let's cook them and eat them."
"Okay." Shi Chengyu agreed with a smile, watched her skipping downstairs, and grabbed her wrist tightly.
Two bowls of wontons, one large and one small, were placed on the solid wood table in the restaurant, with emerald green onions floating on them. Shen Chutang scooped up one with a spoon and blew on it.
"It's not as delicious as the one at Yaxuan." Shen Chutang took a bite and commented.
Shi Chengyu smiled faintly, "Let someone send Yaxuan here tomorrow morning."
The wontons were very big, and Shi Chengyu served her six. She ate them all, and then the two of them took a walk in the yard.
