Chapter 89 Heart Stops

Chapter 89 Heart Stops

It was almost evening when Shi Chengyu rushed to the hospital. The sun was setting, and the orange-yellow afterglow shone through the windows of the corridor. It was reflected by the tiles on the ground, bright and dazzling.

The red sign of the operating room at the end of the corridor was still on. Shi Chengyu saw three figures standing there. He moved his feet with difficulty until he got closer and saw that it was Shen Yanheng and the others. He still couldn't believe that the person in the operating room was Shen Chutang.

"Brother..." Shi Chengyu's voice was hoarse and his throat seemed to be blocked by something. He wanted to speak but didn't know how to start.

A light sigh was heard in the silence.

Shi Chengyu's psychological defenses collapsed instantly. He resisted the urge to speak, took a few steps forward, and spoke haltingly, "Brother, how is Tangtang?"

Shen Yanheng looked at the tiredness on his face, his eyes were bloodshot, he couldn't bear it, and answered irrelevantly, "Chengyu, you go back and rest first."

Shi Chengyu looked at him, somewhat bewildered. He shook his head stiffly, refusing to leave.

Shen Sichen suddenly stood up from his chair, grabbed his collar and pushed him to the ground, shouting angrily, "Get out!"

Shen Yanheng stepped forward and held him back, "Calm down."

Shen Sichen wanted to say something when the door of the operating room behind him suddenly opened and the nurse shouted anxiously, "Family of the patient!"

Without caring about anything else, the three of them hurried over and stood there waiting for the nurse to speak.

"Please sign the critical illness notice."

Shen Yanheng was stunned for a moment, then picked up the pen and signed.

Shi Chengyu got up from the ground, staggered over to the nurse, and asked, "How is she?"

"The situation is not optimistic. You and your family members should be mentally prepared."

"What, what mental preparation?"

Shi Chengyu asked in confusion, but the nurse did not answer. She looked at him through her goggles with a bit of pity and sympathy in her eyes, and ran away quickly.

That look made Chengyu feel uneasy. She didn't say anything, but he understood it all. He staggered backwards and then fell heavily to the ground. He tried to stare in the direction of the operating room, and his eyelids closed along with the door of the operating room.

I couldn't see anything. There was a sharp ringing in my ears, and the words the nurse had just said, something about a critical illness notice and something about the pessimistic situation...

He didn't believe it. This was a dream. He didn't want to dream again. He wanted to wake up and see Tangtang...

"Brother Chengyu!"

"Mr. Shi!"

"Mr. Shi!"

Luo Yang and Lin Shulan ran over together and were shocked when they saw the person falling down.

"Don't touch him!" Luo Yang shouted, kneeling on the ground to feel his pulse and breathing, "His heart has stopped beating, go get someone to arrange a rescue!"

"good."

Luo Yang knelt on the ground and performed chest compressions on Shi Chengyu until he was pushed into the operating room.

"Prepare for defibrillation."

"1mg of adrenaline intravenously."

"Increase to 5mg."

"5 mg of lidocaine intravenously."

Luo Yang had performed many surgeries, big and small, but this was the first time he encountered such a difficult situation. All the medicines seemed to have lost their effect.

The golden time limit for rescuing a heart that suddenly stopped was only four minutes. Although he started rescuing it immediately, more than ten minutes had passed and there was no reaction at all. It was as if the heart had lost its vitality and would never beat again.

But Shi Chengyu cannot die, as this would be more serious than the consequences of the sky falling.

"What will Shen Chutang do if you die?"

Normally, you shouldn't say such things in the operating room, but Luo Yang couldn't care less and shouted while doing the defibrillation.

Miraculously, the heart rate monitor next to it suddenly made a very faint "beeping" sound, and the smooth straight line began to fluctuate.

"There's a heartbeat!" the nurse shouted in surprise, but in an instant the curve fell back and became a straight line again.

Luo Yang took a look to the side, holding the defibrillator in his hand but not pressing it down, instead he called out in confusion, "Shen Chutang?"

"Shen Chutang is awake."

Luo Yang said this, and cursed in his heart as he looked at the curve that reappeared on the detector.

"I spent so much time and effort but still can't compare to these three words Shen Chutang!"

The heartbeat seemed to be responding to those three words, beating even more vigorously.

Luo Yang felt a little reluctant, but still said, "Shen Chutang is awake, she is waiting for you."

"What will happen to her if you die? Rest well and then wake up."

After walking out of the emergency room, Luo Yang looked at the people waiting outside and walked over, "Mr. Shi, Mrs. Shi."

"How is it? Are you okay?"

Luo Yang: "He has been rescued. He needs to rest more in the next few days."

"Don't be irritated," he added.

Xue Wanqiu covered her face with her hands and leaned in Shi Hexun's arms, unable to hold back her tears any longer. She almost thought this was the last time they would see Shi Chengyu.

Shi Hexun patted her shoulder and asked, "How is Tangtang?"

Luo Yang was a little hesitant, "Ms. Shen, the situation is not optimistic."

He had just lied to Shi Chengyu and he hadn't even woken up yet.

There is no exaggeration in the words "life-threatening". Under normal circumstances, patients who are sent to the hospital in this state are basically given up on being rescued.

But how could the Shen family give up? They had been rescuing the person for a day and a night, but the person hasn't come out yet. Whether the person can be rescued is one thing, and whether he can wake up after being rescued is another.

Shi Hexun sighed, his hands holding Xue Wanqiu began to tremble, and his eyes became red.

After asking Luo Yang for the location and having someone send Xue Wanqiu back, Shi Hexun went to the top floor alone.

Shen Gengli and his wife were originally traveling abroad, and they had just arrived not long ago. Shen Yanheng and the other two all had a bright red slap mark on their faces.

"Geng Li..."

"Don't talk about it. I don't blame Chengyu for Tangtang's matter, but it is ultimately related to him. The marriage between the two families has not been finalized, so we will not have any more contact from now on."

Shen Gengli said coldly, unwilling to even look at him, and waved his hand to have his assistant start to drive them away.

Shi Hexun knew he was in the wrong and didn't get angry because of his tone. "Don't worry, we will take care of this matter."

"How do you deal with it? Once you've dealt with it, can Tang'er get off the operating table?!"

Shen Sichen questioned in a fierce voice, veins popping out on his forehead. Wei Chuan pulled him and handed the medicine to him, but he slapped it away with one hand, and the white pills scattered all over the floor.

He rubbed his hair irritably, and was finally pulled by Chen Musheng to sit on a chair. His face was haggard, full of regret and self-blame.

"Mom... blame me. Blame me for not going out with her yesterday... It's all my fault..."

Shen Sichen lay on Chen Musheng's shoulder and sobbed, but everyone knew that it was not his fault, nor was it Shi Chengyu's fault.

Evil people always find ways to do evil, and they are the ones who should be punished. But no one can accept the unexpected.

"Si Chen, I don't blame you. Don't blame yourself." Chen Musheng comforted him, and his own tears fell.
