Chapter 9 Cat Head
After returning to the room to change clothes, Shen Chutang went back to the next room and found his cell phone in the bedroom. There were messages from Xie Tong and also the one from Shi Chengyu yesterday.
[Are you awake, Tangtang? ]
It was the time she usually woke up from her nap, but she woke up a little late yesterday and started drawing on her tablet.
[I asked someone to send me some Zhan's pastries. If you like them, eat more.]
【What does Tangtang want to eat in the evening? 】
As Shen Chutang watched, the corners of his lips curled up and he replied one by one.
【Wake up, wake up, I’m drawing】
[It’s delicious. I want Chengyu to try it too. We’ll eat it together next time.]
[Let’s go eat roast duck tonight, the same place we went to last time]
As soon as Shen Chutang sent the last message, Shi Chengyu replied with a "OK".
In a blink of an eye, a week has passed. The eldest brother is on a business trip. Shen Sujing and Shen Sichen will be back tomorrow, and the three of them will go back to grandpa's house together.
Shen Chutang baked a batch of cookies in the afternoon. Wearing thick heat-insulated gloves, she took out the baking tray and placed it on the counter to cool.
She was extremely patient when doing these things, stirring, beating, rolling the dough into shapes, and then painting cute little cat expressions on them.
When the cookies are finally taken out of the oven and cooled, the air is filled with the sweet smell of cookies.
Shen Chutang clapped her hands in satisfaction, took a photo and sent it to Shi Chengyu. The nanny happened to come over and said that there were guests outside, and asked her if she wanted to meet them.
Shen Chutang lowered his head and poked one of the cat heads, testing the temperature, and said nonchalantly, "Brother Chengyu hasn't gotten off work yet."
This is the Shi family, where are her guests? But to the Shi family's servants, Shen Chutang is half the owner, so she came to ask her.
"It seems to be an old acquaintance of Mr. Shi. He said he came to give him a birthday present." The nanny replied.
Shen Chutang raised his head from the sweet smell and said, "Then let him in."
After a while, Uncle Shang came in with a woman.
Lin Chushuang didn't expect that when the housekeeper said he wanted to ask, there was actually a little girl inside.
"Hello, my name is Lin Chushuang, and I'm Shi Chengyu's friend." Lin Chushuang greeted her with a smile, and did not wonder why she appeared in Shi's house.
Shen Chutang shook her outstretched hand, "Hello, Shen Chutang."
"I haven't seen you, sister."
Shen Chutang told the truth. According to Shi Chengyu, they had known each other since she was born. In all these years, she had never seen the person in front of her, and she didn't know that Shi Chengyu had such a beautiful friend.
"We grew up in the same courtyard, and then I went abroad."
Lin Chushuang explained with a smile, and sat down on the sofa naturally, "I just flew back from abroad the day before yesterday, so you may not have seen me."
Shen Chutang had a vague impression that Shi Chengyu had said that he had lived with his grandfather until he was seven years old. She lowered her head, her eyes inadvertently falling on her chest, then lowered her head to look at her own, which seemed a little different.
"Oh." She replied calmly. She hadn't heard Shi Chengyu talk about his childhood yet, so she asked curiously, "Were you good friends in the past?"
Lin Chushuang smiled shyly, "No, we were all kids at that time. It's just that Chengyu didn't like to play with others when he was little. He only wanted me to stay with him in the compound."
"At that time, Grandpa Shi even joked about arranging a marriage for us."
Inexplicably, Shen Chutang felt a little uncomfortable in her heart. She stood up from the sofa and said, "Sister, please sit for a while. Brother Chengyu will not be off work for a long time."
"It's okay, I'll wait for him." Lin Chushuang replied with a smile.
Shen Chutang said nothing more, turned around and went to the kitchen counter, put the cooled biscuits into small packaging bags one by one, and then sealed them.
Originally, five were left on the counter, but looking at the woman on the sofa, Shen Chutang took them back one by one, and finally only one was left.
This time, Shen Chutang did not forget his cell phone. He walked out of the villa with the cell phone in one hand and the bag in the other.
"Miss, are you going to the company?" Uncle Shang chased after her, thinking that she was going to deliver biscuits to Shi Chengyu. Considering that it was her first time there, he asked the driver to take her.
Shen Chutang waved his hands, "I'm going home, Uncle Shang. I'm going back to my grandfather's house tomorrow. I'm going back to pack my things today."
There was no need for her to help with packing. Uncle Shang guessed something, took two steps forward and said, "Then I'll take you there."
"No need, Uncle Shang. We have guests at home. I'll go back first." Shen Chutang said as he trotted away.
Uncle Shang stood there and watched her enter the gate of the Shen family villa before turning back. After thinking about it, he sent a message to Lin Shulang.
It was more than an hour later when Lin Shulang saw the message. Shi Chengyu had just finished a business meeting. When he picked up his phone, he saw the picture sent by Shen Chutang, a plate of cute baked cat-shaped cookies. The corners of his lips raised naturally, as if he had already tasted the sweetness.
Before he could be happy for long, Lin Shulan told him about what happened at home.
Shi Chengyu frowned instantly and called Shen Chutang, but WeChat was temporarily unavailable and the phone was turned off.
Just at this moment, Xue Wanqiu called. Shi Chengyu answered the call. Without waiting for the other party to say anything, he said with a cold face, "Mom, don't let anyone go home."
Xue Wanqiu's voice was filled with shock. "I remember you liked playing with her when you were little? She came to see me right after she came back from abroad and said she wanted to meet you—"
"Mom, I don't want to see her. I didn't before and I won't in the future."
Shi Chengyu's face had become extremely cold, he hung up the phone and walked out.
"Let Uncle Shang drive them away."
His memories before the age of seven are very vague. The only people of similar age to him in the compound were Jiang Younian and his friends. He only vaguely remembers that there was a girl who liked to follow him. He didn't curse her out of politeness, but he couldn't get rid of her and couldn't help getting annoyed. That's why he had a deep impression of her.
I never spoke a word to her from beginning to end. Later, I moved to Lanjiangting and never saw her again. I finally had some free time.
Lin Shulang knew that Shi Chengyu was really angry, so he quickly sent a message to Uncle Shang and asked him to go to the Shen family to see Shen Chutang.
When Lin Shulan received the news that Shen Chutang was gone, he felt for a moment that his career was over. He dared not even breathe in the car, his mind racing to think of a solution.
Finally, he sent a message in the four-person assistant group, cautiously and humbly asking Miss Shen whether she had gone to see Mr. Shen.
I breathed a sigh of relief after getting the exact news.
This group of four assistants are the assistants of Lin Shulang and the three brothers of the Shen family. The four of them usually communicate about information about Shen Chutang.
The car drove into Lanjiang Courtyard. Lin Shulang, sitting in the passenger seat, held his phone tightly and said with a sigh, "Mr. Shi, Ms. Shen has left."
The temperature inside the car suddenly dropped, and the driver looked at Lin Shulang, his eyes asking where the car should be parked.
Finally, the car stopped at the door of Shi's house, and Shi Chengyu got out without waiting for Lin Shulan to open the door.
There was no one in the villa. On the kitchen island, there was only a small cookie left. A yellow cat head with black around the left eye, like the yellow tabby cat in Cat Curry, stupid.
