Chapter 16 Red Brick Factory (15) - Falling into the Corpse Pool

Chapter 16 Red Brick Factory (15) - Falling into the Corpse Pool

All the movements appeared in slow motion before Ning Shu's eyes, and she could clearly see the zipper of one of the bags being pulled open from the inside.

A pale hand emerged from inside; it was slender and must have been a woman's hand. Then, the zipper of the bag next to it was also unzipped.

The first thing to emerge was indeed a pale, undead woman, followed by men and women in the other bags.

Fortunately, they were all dressed, so they weren't as offensive as the screeching hunks next to them.

The corpses in the "grid" all came to life and crawled out of the bag.

Ning Shu discovered that they each had their own unique characteristics, which were very different from the uniform appearance of the muscular men.

This "grid" looks like a place similar to a morgue?

So what role do these muscular men play here?

I can't figure it out.

Ning Shu saw that almost all the corpses in the bag had escaped, and thought they would fall down below, but she was still safe.

Good heavens, those undead actually climbed onto the ceiling like geckos, just like her, and started attacking her.

Ning Shu was terrified, but she still raised her hands and went for it!

Relying on the instincts granted to her by her physical transformation, she directly attacked the approaching undead.

There are no fancy moves to speak of; it's just simple, straightforward hand-to-hand combat.

No matter what part of the other person it is, even the skull is as easy as rubbing dust in her hands.

The shredded pieces of flesh fell like rain, hitting the ground with dull thuds.

Ning Shu found that being on the ceiling was affecting her performance; she wasn't quite used to fighting others while hanging upside down.

She decided to go down to the ground first. Since she could now "hang" on the ceiling, climbing a wall would be a piece of cake for her.

She decided to deal with the trouble on the ground first before returning to the corridor, since she didn't really want to see those little brothers again.

The undead all emerged from the "grid" side, while the other side of the railing was full of muscular men.

Ning Shu didn't want to go down from the white wall side, so she thought it would be better to take a longer route and go down from the red brick wall side.

Before she even got there, she was attacked by the undead on the way. She slowly moved forward on her knees, tearing her enemies to shreds with her hands like the Nine Yin White Bone Claw.

It was a real "tearing" kill, the kind done with just hands.

The fragments of the corpse fell from the sky into the pool below with a series of thuds.

Everything was fine until suddenly a terrifying-looking, undead figure appeared from the side, resembling a car crash scene.

Ning Shu was so startled that she lost her balance and fell from the ceiling.

Bad news, she might die soon; good news, she fell into a pool below, so there's a chance she'll survive.

She fell very quickly, and before she could even process the fact that she was about to drown, a loud "thud" echoed as she found herself in the water.

The pool was much deeper than she had imagined. She felt like she had plunged several meters into the water, but still couldn't touch the bottom.

In those two short moments, her life experienced two major ups and downs, and she had to admire her own luck.

The next moment she discovered that she could move freely in the water, as if walking on flat ground.

This transformation is amazing! It turns her from someone who's bad at swimming to someone who's an expert swimmer.

Since she wouldn't drown, she wasn't in a hurry to go up; she wanted to check out the situation in the pool first.

The pool water looked yellow and murky from above, but when she was in it, she found that the water quality wasn't that bad; it was just a pale yellow and quite clean and clear.

Because she can see things around her clearly.

There was nothing around her, but a pile of white powder was below her, covering the entire bottom of the pool.

The problem is that even though she inserted it so deep, the powder wasn't stirred up by the water flow.

Are these not powders, but rather shapes that resemble powders?

Ning Shu guessed that, on a whim, she actually slid down a bit and reached out to sift through the powdery substance to see what it was.

Ning Shu felt she had really messed up. If she could do it all over again, she would never be so foolish, so she wouldn't want to beat herself up every time she thought about it.

When she reached out and rummaged through the powder, she found that it felt similar to flour—very soft and loose. This weight shouldn't be able to stay in place without being carried away by the water.

Everything in this godforsaken place is illogical, yet the underlying principles remain a mystery.

She suddenly felt a change in the texture of her hands. It turned out that she had dug too deep, and the powder under her hands had been pushed aside, revealing what had been covering it.

Because it was only a part, she wasn't sure about her guess, but she didn't dare to continue.

"Let's hurry up and get out of here," Ning Shu thought, having lost her earlier "fierce spirit," and prepared to leave the pool.

"Thump, thump, thump..."

Ning Shu heard the sound of something falling into the water, and then he saw the faces of those muscular men appear before him, along with their little brothers.

Seriously... Why didn't you guys jump when I was up there? You all came straight for me, didn't you?

Ning Shu complained and began her "tearing the monster apart" technique.

She realized a problem: if she was so rough in the water, blood would get on her, so she changed her approach and twisted the other person's neck instead.

In the gaps between her counterattacks, she noticed that the muscular men she had torn apart were not bleeding, and the pool water remained the same color as always.

As more and more muscular men jumped down, their movements inevitably got the powder on them.

The powder was swept away, revealing what was covering it.

Now Ning Shu could see clearly that the corpses lay sprawled out below, probably because they had been soaking for so long that they were almost all gigantic.

Holy crap! Holy crap! Holy crap!

Ning Shu didn't even kill the monster. He suddenly leaped out of the water at an unprecedented speed, paddling rapidly towards the edge of the pool as if he had a small motor installed. The splashes behind him were as fast as those of a speedboat.

She felt she had never fought this hard, not even when being chased by zombie dogs!

If someone asked her which she would accept more, falling into a septic tank or falling into a cadaver pool?

She would definitely answer – she can't accept either.

She didn't know why she had been so stupid just now, instead of getting ashore immediately after falling into the water, she had to do something reckless by "exploring" it.

Okay, now I don't need to eat for several days.

Ning Shu climbed ashore and immediately moved away from the pool, beginning to gag.

Even though the water in the pool had no taste, she still felt uneasy, as if the corpse was always hanging on her body, skin to skin.

She needs to be quiet!

"Splash, splash."

Before she could recover, the remaining muscular men and the undead on the ceiling climbed out of the pool and charged toward her.

Is this ever going to end?

Ning Shu was furious, extremely furious. Not only was she disgusted, but she was also being hunted down. Anyone would find that unbearable.

She went on a killing spree, unleashing a barrage of attacks that sent all the charging "people" packing.
