Chapter 228 Beauty's Schemes (31) - Framing Cui Zeyu
Ning Shu's alarm bells rang loudly. She had witnessed the ability of the graffiti to identify people by their footsteps, so she absolutely believed what the graffiti said.
She was exasperated: "Are you an idiot? You're only telling me now! Get out of here!"
The graffiti is somewhat innocent; he only just confirmed it himself.
But as soon as they turned the corner, they bumped into a man in black, which terrified them both.
Especially the graffiti; he hadn't realized that he had been focusing all his attention on the side with more people and had ignored the noise from this side.
Ning Shu had already cursed the graffiti countless times in her mind; even a human radar can be unreliable sometimes.
With the score tied at 1 to 2, both sides adopted defensive stances, ready to engage in combat.
Ning Shu wasn't afraid of anything; her skills were too much for most people to handle.
Unexpectedly, the man in black opposite him paused for a moment before speaking: "Miss Ruyi? Brother Tuya?"
Huh, someone I know?
Ning Shu looked the other person up and down, and the other person quickly took off his mask—it turned out to be Cui Zeyu.
Ning Shu was pleasantly surprised, but before she could speak, Tuya asked, "You're here to break into prison too?"
A moment of silence fell over the scene.
It's fine if you know it already, why bring it up in public? Ning Shu thinks that Graffiti has a big heart.
Cui Zeyu didn't know how to answer. If he said yes, it would be too straightforward; if he said no, he wouldn't be able to explain his outfit.
Ning Shu stepped in to smooth things over: "We came out for a walk and are now heading back. Why don't we walk together?"
They're being followed now; if Cui Zeyu doesn't leave, he'll be caught anyway.
Cui Zeyu hesitated for a moment, then Tuya became anxious: "They're getting closer, let's go quickly."
Cui Zeyu roughly understood the meaning of the graffiti. They realized that someone was coming, so they prepared to turn back.
He nodded, and the three of them left together.
But things didn't go as planned. No matter how good the graffiti's hearing was, it couldn't withstand the enemy's all-encompassing net to capture it.
No matter which path he chooses, there will always be someone waiting for him.
Eventually, the three of them were cornered against the wall.
Soon, the people surrounding them parted from both sides, and a man riding a black steed appeared before them—Prince Rui.
On the morning after Ning Shu and Prince Rui had their intimate encounter, one of Prince Rui's advisors rushed over, saying that Prince Rui's previous plan had gone awry.
He hurriedly got up and dressed, had the maid wash Ning Shu's body and prepare a new set of clothes, and specifically requested that she not wear a maid's outfit.
Before he left, he specifically instructed the servants in the room not to disturb her rest, and to help her wash up and prepare breakfast after she woke up.
He thought he would be back soon, and he also thought Ning Shu would obediently wait for him to return to the mansion.
Unexpectedly, his departure took two days, and the person who was supposed to wait patiently for his return was nowhere to be found.
When Prince Rui heard that Ning Shu had not returned home all night, he was furious.
She ordered the bodyguards who were tracking her to reply, or they would all be punished.
The guard's reply fueled his anger, because everything Ning Shu did revealed one thing—she wanted to escape.
He summoned the palace guards and all the secret guards to search for Ning Shu, and the secret guards did not fail to keep up.
Upon hearing that Prince Rui intended to search for the other party, he quickly located Ning Shu's position, which led to this encirclement and interception.
Prince Rui watched as the three men, dressed in black and still active on the streets during curfew, wondered what good they could possibly be up to.
The thought that Ruyi might be planning to elope with Cui Zeyu filled him with rage, and he was almost ready to execute Cui Zeyu on the spot.
Prince Rui's capable subordinates were very perceptive. Seeing that Ning Shu and the other two were all dressed in night clothes, they knew that they could not arrest them under the pretext of capturing runaway slaves from the Prince's mansion.
Then he loudly proclaimed, "The Prince Rui's mansion has been ordered to apprehend fugitives. The three of you are acting suspiciously and are suspected of being fugitives. Surrender immediately!"
Generally speaking, there needs to be a legitimate reason to arrest someone in public, and how to deal with the person after arresting them is quite flexible.
The capable subordinate actually wanted to capture the person first and then let Prince Rui deal with him slowly, but he didn't expect that something would go wrong at this time.
Faced with so many people, Ning Shu had no choice but to surrender obediently.
She didn't want to be arrested as a fugitive; otherwise, how could she complete her mission?
Considering that he had been followed and that the prison break was planned too hastily, he knew he would find it difficult to carry out this plan again in the future.
Suddenly, another idea came to mind.
She quietly approached Cui Zeyu and took the letter out of her sleeve.
Pretending to be startled, she threw herself into the other person's arms and stuffed the letter in her hand into Cui Zeyu's waist, wedging it between his belt and clothes.
Cui Zeyu, confused, suddenly hugged Ning Shu and felt her stuff something into his body.
Before he could figure out what to do, Prince Rui dismounted and strode up to him, glaring at him fiercely before pulling Ning Shu into his arms.
"You dare, you brat!"
Prince Rui loudly reprimanded Cui Zeyu, who was somewhat bewildered and did not understand what he had done wrong.
Ning Shu was shocked to find herself pulled away from Cui Zeyu just as she finished stuffing the letter away, breaking out in a cold sweat.
Hearing Prince Rui's reprimand, her heart trembled slightly, and she looked up at him.
When he realized that the other person was staring intently at him, as if he had done something heinous, his legs went weak and he knelt down before him.
Realizing he had already knelt down, he knew there was no better time than to perform!
She immediately grabbed Prince Rui's leg and began to cry:
"Your Highness, please do me justice! Lord Cui is forcing me and Tuya to help him break him out of prison!"
Prince Rui: "..."
Cui Zeyu: "..."
Graffiti: "..."
The people present: "..."
This reversal came so suddenly that not only were others bewildered, but even the parties involved, Cui Zeyu and Tuya, were completely baffled as to what had happened.
Cui Zeyu's lips twitched. He thought to himself that he couldn't let Miss Ruyi do anything reckless. If the prince found out that they had nothing to do with the fugitive, he would at most punish them with a crime that was neither too serious nor too minor.
If it involves a prison break, the crime would be much more serious, and he wouldn't have another chance to break out of prison.
Cui Zeyu: "Miss Ruyi, you shouldn't speak carelessly."
Ning Shu looked at Cui Zeyu with a particularly aggrieved expression: "Even now, in front of the Prince, you still won't admit it. I was wrong to trust you."
He didn't, so how could he admit it? Cui Zeyu felt that today was really inexplicable.
He had clearly found out that the guards at the Dali Temple would not be so strict today, but he never expected to run into Ruyi and Tuya, and even stumble upon Prince Rui who was searching for fugitives.
Prince Rui, unaware of their tricks, didn't quite believe Ning Shu's words and interrogated him, "Why did he not force others, but only the two of you?"
Ning Shu knew this question would come up, and she had already thought of one. Pointing excitedly at the graffiti, she said:
"My friend, who was also my neighbor when I was young, received a letter a few days ago from an unknown source."
The letter concerned the sale of smuggled salt, which was originally none of his business, but it just so happened that Lord Cui and I ran into him and saw the letter.
Lord Cui then threatened us with the fact that we had participated in the smuggling of salt through graffiti, saying that if we didn't help him break out of prison, he would report us.
He even took the letter away, saying he only returned it to us because we helped him. We were so innocent, boohoo~
