Chapter 244 Escape Room (8) - Chased by a Female Ghost

Chapter 244 Escape Room (8) - Chased by a Female Ghost

The female voice continued, "Then where did my textbooks go? Tell me!"

At this moment, Ning and Shu both felt the surrounding temperature drop, and their bodies became somewhat cold.

Ning Shu suddenly felt that the surrounding environment was no longer so dark, but had become dim.

She could see things again; she noticed square objects scattered on the ground in the distance of the corridor.

It seemed to be the textbook the woman was looking for. She was overjoyed and suddenly felt that this scene was very similar to a segment of a variety show.

Is this copy based on someone else's work? Isn't it copyrighted?

She tugged at Cheng Chuan's clothes and whispered, "Cheng Chuan, there are textbooks on the ground over there. Go pick them up and give them to her, and we should be fine."

At this moment, Cheng Chuan was so frightened that he dropped the box in his hand on the ground, but he still tried to remain calm.

Hearing Ning Shu say that, he replied, "I understand, I'll go get it. Can you manage by yourself?"

Ning Shu nervously grabbed his clothes: "I can't, I have to go with you."

Are you kidding me? She's terrified.

If we leave her here, what if the other party wants to have some fun before taking back the textbook? Wouldn't she be like a lamb to the slaughter?

Cheng Chuan never expected that Ning Shu would be so adorably cowardly this time: "Okay, let's go together, grab my hand."

Ning Shu glanced at his hands; they were broad and kind, just like the scene she had always dreamed of.

Although it was inappropriate, she still had a fleeting thought, then quickly took his hand.

Follow him step by step, moving along the other wall toward where the textbook was.

But then, the woman's voice became unhappy: "What are you two showing off your love for!"

Ning Shu's legs went weak, and she fell into Cheng Chuan's arms, mentally screaming: "Big sister, we haven't even fallen in love yet, can you please stop scaring me like this!"

Cheng Chuan: "Do you want the textbook or you want to swear at me?"

At this point, Cheng Chuan felt that the other party wasn't too scary, since they hadn't made a move against them yet.

The female voice was silent for a moment, then spoke again: "I need textbooks, I need textbooks."

Ning Shu steadied herself and nudged Cheng Chuan with her little hand: "Let's hurry up and get it."

She felt that her skills were no match for the female ghost, so she quickly gave her the item and left.

As they moved, the female ghost followed behind them, constantly leering eerily.

Ning Shu and Cheng Chuan felt their bodies getting colder and colder, as if they were soaking in ice water.

For this reason, their movement slowed down, and even though the textbooks were right in front of them, they just couldn't reach them.

Cheng Chuan felt that there was no time to lose, so he gathered his strength and turned into sand, lunging at the textbook, but he was quickly forced back to his original form.

Ning Shu was left behind when Cheng Chuan turned to sand, and her entire body was stiff and cold at that moment.

She wanted to use her skills, but she couldn't move.

This place also restricts the use of skills, so it seems that having strange dungeon skills is useless.

If she can leave this place, she must first find two items to deal with the strange creatures.

Cheng Chuan stiffly reached for the textbooks—three in total: Chinese, Math, and English. After finally managing to pick them up, his teeth chattering, he said to the female ghost, "These are the textbooks you... wanted."

The female ghost: "Give it to me! Give it to me!"

Cheng Chuan felt that this thing was doing it on purpose. It had followed him to his side just now, but after he got the textbook, it ran away again.

Ning Shu could no longer feel her limbs and felt that if she didn't warm up soon, she would die here.

Cheng Chuan was still able to move because the female ghost had suddenly moved away from him, so the temperature around him was better than Ning Shu's.

However, he could only crawl on the ground towards the female ghost with the book in his hand, and Ning Shu's breath was filled with icy shards.

Cheng Chuan's hands and feet were also numb from the cold. He saw Ning Shu hugging him, sitting huddled against the wall of the corridor, completely still, her body covered in frost. He immediately sensed something was wrong.

He couldn't crawl fast enough, so he could only raise his hand and throw the textbook at the female ghost with all his might.

When the first book was thrown, he clearly felt the temperature around him rise, but the previously blurry female ghost's shadow became clear.

When he threw the second book, the temperature rose even more noticeably, and Cheng Chuan's hands and feet became more agile.

He quickly got up and rushed to Ning Shu's side. By then, the frost on Ning Shu's body had disappeared.

Ning Shu was too frightened to move. Cheng Chuan helped her up, tucked her under his arm, and pressed her tightly against him.

As the shadowy figure gradually materialized, the female ghost continued to murmur in a ghostly voice, "Textbooks, I want textbooks."

As she spoke, she kept coming towards them. Cheng Chuan remembered Ning Shu saying that if he gave her the textbook, everything would be fine.

He then threw the last book in his hand over, and only then did he realize that the textbook he had thrown was gone.

The textbook was directly absorbed into the shadowy figure, making the shadow a physical entity, and finally the surrounding light became clearer.

Cheng Chuan saw that the dark figure had materialized completely in front of them, turning into a female student with twisted limbs and a pale face.

Sensing something was wrong, he dragged Ning Shu away.

The female student suddenly dropped to the ground, on all fours, and pounced on them like a vicious dog.

Just as they were about to meet, Cheng Chuan suddenly turned into sand and ran away with Ning Shu.

A small sandstorm slipped through the female student's fingers, enveloping Ning Shu and slamming her aside.

Cheng Chuan felt that the fact that the other party could break through meant that the other party wasn't actually that scary.

But when he returned to his original form and looked back while holding Ning Shu, the female student was now crawling towards them with her body twisted and her face contorted in a ferocious expression.

As it crawled, it made that terrifying sound: "Give me back my textbook, give it back—"

Holy crap!

The visual impact was too much for most people to handle. Cheng Chuan hoisted the still-dazed Ning Shu onto his shoulder and ran wildly...

The corridor seemed to stretch on forever, winding and meandering. Cheng Chuan, carrying Ning Shu, rushed forward like a headless fly, wherever there was a path.

I felt like I'd been chased for who knows how many blocks before I finally saw a dark exit.

Ignoring any potential dangers inside, he rushed in...

The moment he stepped into the exit, he felt as if he had returned to the previous locked room environment.

Dim and quiet.

He looked back and saw that the other end of the exit was also pitch black, as if nothing had happened.

There were no eerie female students, and no endlessly extending corridors.

Cheng Chuan put Ning Shu down from his shoulder. Ning Shu felt nauseous because Cheng Chuan's shoulder blades were pressing against her stomach.

But she didn't vomit; she just looked pale.

Cheng Chuan: Are you alright?

Ning Shu paused for a moment, then finally came to her senses: "...N-nothing."

Cheng Chuan recalled the danger he had just faced: "Didn't you say that giving her the textbook would solve everything?"

Ning Shu paused for a moment, recalling that variety show clip: "Sorry, I only watched half of that variety show..."

Cheng Chuan: "?"

If he had known she was making that deduction, he wouldn't have listened to her; he almost got himself killed.
