Chapter 3 Red Brick Factory (2) - Hey, there's a handsome guy!
Cheng Chuan felt this was a big problem. The kidnapping involved people from different cities. If one of them wasn't taken to the other's city, then it was possible that both of them had been taken to another city.
This would be very troublesome, indicating that the person behind it has grand ambitions.
"What happened to you?"
Cheng Chuan explained his experience, but Ning Shu's answer was completely unexpected.
"But I'm fine. I have no memory of what happened before I came here."
If she was also kidnapped, how could she not have any memory of it?
Ning Shu felt a chill run down her spine. She must have been kidnapped too, otherwise why would she be here?
But why did she have no memory? She tried hard to remember what she was doing before she woke up.
Whether it was because of Ning Shu's answer or because of the expression on her face as she frowned and thought about something, Cheng Chuan also felt a chill run down his spine.
However, his guess was not as terrifying as Ning Shu's.
"Perhaps you were drugged and brought here while you were asleep or in another unconscious state."
"Your lack of memory might be due to an excessive dosage of medication, so don't be afraid."
Seeing Ning Shu's increasingly furrowed brows and her face contorted with fear, Cheng Chuan quickly tried to comfort her.
Ning Shu's expression was becoming increasingly frightening; if this continued, Cheng Chuan began to suspect that she was about to mutate.
Ning Shu was truly comforted; she felt that her lack of memory might indeed be related to the medication.
After all, news reports have shown that some men with ill intentions would buy "forget-me-nots" to drug girls and assault them, leaving the girls with no memory of the incident.
This makes sense that she has no memory; only in this way can we explain why she can remember so many things but forgets everything before she woke up.
"I...I'm fine now." Ning Shu's face was still a little pale, and her voice was trembling.
"Let's look around first; maybe we can find a way out," Cheng Chuan suggested.
Ning Shu nodded.
The factory was very large, so Ning Shu decided to call the place that.
They searched the entire corner together, but they didn't see a single person, let alone a ghost.
It's too quiet.
In a normal factory site selection process, even the most remote factory will have a road leading to the main road in order to deliver the products.
There should be sounds of people or cars coming and going if there's a road, but she didn't hear any sounds outside when she went through each window.
In typical factory buildings, windows are built on the upper part for lighting purposes. Below the windows are high walls, two or three stories high, so she cannot see what's happening outside.
"Did you see a door in this area?" Ning Shu asked Cheng Chuan in a low voice.
She had been looking at the exterior wall for a long time but could hardly see the door; this design was also very unreasonable.
Factories typically have large doors for moving large equipment; these are usually sliding metal doors rather than hinged doors.
Other exterior walls that do not require the transport of equipment must be reserved with small doors for people to enter and exit. The number and size of these doors are regulated to ensure the rapid evacuation of people in case of fire.
It's normal not to see the main gate; maybe they're not in that area. But it's strange that there isn't even a side gate.
"No, it's all walls. Shall we go inside and see?" Cheng Chuan asked uncertainly.
They were currently in a corner near the outer wall, which had windows that let in sunlight, so it was fairly bright.
But there was a passageway leading further into the factory, and they felt uncomfortable looking into it—because it was too dark.
"Let's go."
Although Ning Shu didn't like that corridor either, they couldn't stay there forever.
The kidnappers might have thought they were still asleep and left, making this a good time for them to escape.
The two arrived at the entrance of the corridor and looked around at the somewhat dark corridor.
"Let's walk faster later, and if there's a problem, run as fast as you can."
Cheng Chuan was so nervous that his palms were sweating. He extended a hand to Ning Shushi, feeling that it would be safer for the two of them to hold hands and go over together.
“Okay.” Ning Shu extended her hand without hesitation.
Holding hands gave her a great sense of security.
The two walked quickly into the corridor, one after the other. The darkness grew, and the only sounds were their breathing and footsteps.
Suddenly, their vision went completely black; this was bad news.
"Don't stop!"
Cheng Chuan sensed that Ning Shu had slowed down, so he gave a low shout and pulled her hand to speed up.
Ning Shu gritted his teeth and sped up to catch up. Ahead, a blinding light appeared, so bright that they couldn't open their eyes.
The two shielded their eyes with their hands, and after their eyes finally adjusted to the bright light, they opened them and were stunned.
There were several people standing in the room, both men and women, all around 20 or 30 years old.
Ning Shu frowned as she looked at the group of people who were around the same age, and they were looking at her in return.
"Oh, a young couple has arrived," a man remarked.
Ning Shucai realized that she and Cheng Chuan were still holding hands, and her palms were sweaty—she was startled.
She quickly let go; she hadn't forgotten that Cheng Chuan had a girlfriend.
"Who...who are you?" Ning Shu asked.
The men and women exchanged glances, and one of them, a tall man who was 1.9 meters tall, stepped forward.
“We were just discussing why we’re here,” the tall man said.
"Yes, we woke up to find ourselves in this place."
This young lady and I came here through another passage, just like you.
A beautiful woman next to the tall man pointed to an ordinary-looking girl beside her and said.
Ning Shu noticed another striking figure in the crowd—an exceptionally handsome man!
The other person was wearing a windbreaker, black cargo pants, and black ankle boots.
Although the lower half of his face was obscured by the upturned collar of his windbreaker, it did not diminish his stunning good looks.
With striking eyebrows and bright eyes, well-defined features, broad shoulders and a narrow waist, he was probably over 1.8 meters tall, outshining even handsome men like Cheng Chuan.
She wasn't wearing any designer brands, yet she exuded a sense of elegance.
Indeed, being handsome is not just about looks, but also about charisma.
Huh? Ning Shu suddenly stopped.
Because she discovered that the handsome guy actually had heterochromia—his left eye was amber and his right eye was grayish-blue.
Is she mixed race?
Cheng Chuan noticed that Ning Shu suddenly lost focus. Looking down, he found that the guy was staring intently at a strange man.
He knew from the moment he met Ning Shu that this girl liked to stare at handsome guys, and she wouldn't be embarrassed even if the guys noticed. She was just a sucker for good looks.
From initial disdain to acceptance and eventually habituation.
Seeing her staring at a strange man like that, he was speechless, so he nudged Ning Shu with his elbow as if it were an accident.
Ning Shu's thoughts were interrupted, and she turned to look at Cheng Chuan with a puzzled expression: "What's wrong?"
Cheng Chuan: "Don't get distracted."
Ning Shu said "oh" and looked away from the handsome guy, but her mind was still filled with the pair of eyes she had just caught a glimpse of.
Unbeknownst to her, the man's gaze shifted to her the moment she looked away.
