Chapter 33 Dark Paradise (11) - Ning Shu Injured

The three of them resolutely entered the slide area. Upon seeing the magical 3D slide, Ning Shu asked, "Should we go one by one, or all at once?"

Ideally, it would be best to do it one at a time, so that those who come later can learn from the experiences of those who came before, provided that those who came before can survive.

Wu Yi, confident in his physical abilities, believed he was the most likely to pass first, so he stepped forward:

"I'll go first, let me figure out the trick first, and then I'll tell you."

Ning Shu felt ashamed; Wu Yi was the one she was most worried about.

He's physically strong, that's true, but he doesn't seem to be very bright. She thinks it would be better if she went herself.

Before she could speak, Cheng Chuan said, "I'll go first, you guys wait for me downstairs."

Ning Shu didn't try to take it from him, but she did remind him of what she had discovered through her observations over the past few days:

"I found two paths that are quite special. This one is the shortest, although the slope is a bit steep."

This one has the gentlest slope, but it's a very long path.

Ning Shu pointed to two slides and said, "The other slides are more comprehensive, with all kinds of paths."

I think it might be a bit more difficult; the choice is yours.

Cheng Chuan had also noticed this, and he had been thinking about which slide would be easier, and he had already made up his mind.

Ning Shu and Wu Yi stood at the bottom of the slide, looking up to see which path Cheng Chuan would come down from.

Suddenly, Wu Yi shouted excitedly, "Isn't that my Brother Chuan?"

Ning Shu looked in the direction Wu Yi was pointing, and oh my god, this two-dimensional state didn't look like a human at all.

The only way to identify him was by the clothes he was wearing, so Ning Shu could only assume that it was him.

Watching the other person "flow" down the "stairs" step by step like a paper doll was both terrifying and hilarious.

They ran to the edge of the waterslide and waited at the very bottom.

After everyone came down, they saw Cheng Chuan, who was as thin as a sheet of paper, "float" from the pool to the edge, and then climb up the ground in front of them.

The other person slowly "stood" up in front of them, but after uttering a single, incoherent syllable, they collapsed to the ground.

What's going on here?

Ning Shu was puzzled, then heard Cheng Chuan's electronic voice: "Help me up, I have no strength left."

Ning Shu and Wu Yi quickly helped him up, the two of them supporting the paper doll on either side, looking very careful.

Standing by the pool was too conspicuous, so Ning Shu and Wu Yi found a less crowded spot and asked Cheng Chuan about it in more detail.

"Indeed, we have made a discovery. First, there was no other choice but to follow the same path."

There is only one entrance, and it seems that you are randomly led down a path after entering.

Secondly, the trick to passing the test is to keep your body close to the water flow below.

This requires you to exert physical effort; you'll have to figure out how to do it yourself—it's hard to describe.

Anyway, my body can do it; it must be because of that pill.

Third, I received a system notification that I had completed the level immediately after falling into the pool.

This is quite a lot of information; it's definitely not as simple as they thought.

Cheng Chuan was so exhausted that he collapsed on the ground to rest.

Ning Shu asked him if he could walk, and Cheng Chuan said he could, but he would need time to recover his strength.

Ning Shu thought those NPCs were awesome.

After they slid down, they acted as if nothing had happened, walking around in their anime-style state, thinking it was no different from any other day and posed no challenge.

Half an hour later, Cheng Chuan was not only able to stand up, but he could actually jump around in that state, which put Ning Shu and the others at ease.

“You can all go up together, I’ll wait for you down here,” Cheng Chuan said to them, hands on his hips.

Ning Shu and Wu Yi went up together, and Ning Shu swallowed the pills just before entering the elevator in line.

As the elevator lights dimmed, Ning Shu felt her body begin to contort. If she hadn't known what was happening, she might have been terrified.

Fortunately, although I felt uncomfortable, there was no pain.

When she stepped out of the elevator, she saw that there was indeed only one entrance to the slide, and everyone was queuing up to enter that entrance.

Wu Yi didn't let Ning Shu go first; he stood in front and went down first.

When it was Ning Shu's turn, she stood at the entrance and found that the entrance, which had been difficult to see before, was now very clear.

From this perspective, the slide looks no different from a regular one; the slide itself is smooth.

Although she didn't understand, she still jumped down and slid down a distance before she saw the steps.

After sliding a certain distance on the smooth slide, people randomly enter the subsequent stepped slide.

Her vision was strange. She stepped down first and then saw that her body was in disjointed sections, and the missing sections were the vertical surfaces of the stairs.

Of course, when her eyes fell on the steps, she could only see the sky and couldn't even see her own body.

She made sure to use all her strength to make her body completely conform to the stepped water flow.

Just as Cheng Chuan said, the body can do it, but it's exhausting.

Ning Shu felt that her luck might not be so good, because her slide had several annoying loops.

When will it finally slide down?

She discovered a major problem: if the slide was too steep, she would have less time to stay in contact with the water flow, which could easily lead to injury.

For some reason, she felt a burning sensation on her skin, as if something was corroding her.

But when she clings tightly to the water, this sensation diminishes or even disappears.

She remembered the player who had died tragically before, probably because he couldn't conform to the water flow and resist the corrosion.

Ning Shu realized that he had underestimated the wickedness of this game.

The danger is illogical, the way to pass the level is so obscure, and the requirements for players are extremely high.

She focused on dealing with the immediate danger, thinking that after passing through a few "rings," she would soon reach the pool.

It turned out I was overthinking it; there was actually a long, gentle slope ahead...

She may have entered the most dangerous slide ever, arguably the most deadly.

God knows what she went through!

This slide requires a high level of physical strength, and her hastily crammed training won't be very effective.

Every second on the gentle slope felt like an eternity; sometimes she couldn't keep up with the water flow and got burned in several places.

After she finally got into the pool, she heard the system notification sound.

[Congratulations to player "Strong Man Doesn't Wash His Feet" for obtaining 1/3 of the dungeon completion ticket by successfully completing the "Staircase Slide" event.]

But she was in a daze and had no energy to swim to the edge of the pool.

Wu Yi was lucky; he got into the pool early and then searched for Ning Shu.

Finally, seeing a piece of paper floating motionless on the pool, I realized it was Ning Shu.

They quickly called Cheng Chuan, who was standing by the pool, and the two of them "rescued" Ning Shu.

Upon seeing the bloodstains on the ground, Cheng Chuan realized that Ning Shu was injured. He and Wu Yi quickly grabbed Ning Shu and dragged her toward the exit.
