Chapter 13 I saw him using oxygen!

No wonder Xiaomiao messaged me that day saying she would keep an eye on my situation; it turns out the show was being broadcast live.

Jin He still felt a little uncomfortable thinking about it. If Xiao Miao saw the intensity of her work these past few days, she would probably be worried.

Do you want hot water?

Jin He turned around and saw Wen Lian standing behind him, also holding a water glass. He quickly gave up his seat, saying, "Excuse me."

"There's nothing to be embarrassed about." Wen Lian lowered his head to fill his water glass, and seeing Jin He standing by the water heater taking small sips, he suddenly reached out and threw a few things into Jin He's water glass.

Jin He: "!!!"

"Goji berries?" Jin He looked at the few small red berries in the water glass, feeling a little incredulous. "Do I look that weak?"

"Hmm." Wen Lian nodded. "How's the theme song coming along?"

Well… Jin He can only say that he did his best, but skill is something that can't be forced in a short time. He can only be described as average. I guess this is his ceiling.

He let out a slow sigh.

Wen Lian glanced down at his fitness tracker and said, "If you have any difficulties, you can come to me. I can help you."

Jin He took another sip of hot water, the temperature so high it burned her way down her throat and into her stomach. "Wen Lian, there's something I've wanted to ask you for a long time. Have we known each other before?"

Wen Lian slammed the lid of the thermos shut, glanced at him out of the corner of her eye while looking down, then quickly looked away and whispered, "I didn't know you before."

"Oh, is that so?" Jin He realized she might have been presumptuous. He really didn't have anything admirable about him; perhaps Wen Lian was just a kind person. "Thank you for the goji berries."

Wen Lian put away his thermos and walked away.

"Well, that's why I wanted to ask you for help. The hospital is very protective of patient privacy, and I can't find the information here... Hmm, check the last three years first, he probably didn't have time to go to the hospital before that..."

When Sister Na entered, An Yi was making a phone call with his back to the door, saying something she couldn't understand. But the matter was urgent, so she rushed to An Yi's side and gestured for him to hang up.

"Okay, as soon as possible, the sooner the better, thank you..." An Yi glanced at her coldly and hung up the phone. "What's wrong?"

"Lin Nian's agent contacted me. He said he couldn't get through to you on the phone and he was very worried."

An Yi could roughly guess what Lin Nian was anxious about. Back then, Jin He left the team without saying a word and then disappeared as if he had vanished into thin air. He couldn't get through to her on the phone or reply to her text messages. When he asked her manager, she didn't know where he was. Lin Nian had been very worried about him.

However, An Yi felt that Jin He might simply have wanted to ignore them back then; otherwise, she wouldn't have called him so coldly and ruthlessly to break up with him while he was still in the United States. Although he still didn't know the reason why Jin He broke up with him back then.

Sometimes An Yi felt that he was being quite pathetic. He had said some harsh words when they broke up, but now that he saw him looking so miserable, he couldn't bear to see him like this.

"Tell him first that I will find time to get together with him after the theme song competition is over, and tell him not to worry. Jin He will not have any problems here for the time being."

"Don't get yourself into trouble because of Jin He's matter, do you hear me?"

An Yi: "Are you teaching me how to do things?"

Na-jie: "..."

"Don't meddle in things that aren't your business, as if I'd listen to you." An Yi left Na Jie with these words, then pushed open the door and went out to prepare for recording the program.

An Yi was used to ignoring his manager's words and doing things his own way. When he pushed open the door to the recording studio, he found that everyone had already arrived, but there were still five minutes before the recording officially started. So he sat down in the middle without any pressure, picked up the microphone, and said, "Please let the first one come up on stage."

The entire assessment lasted three hours. Perhaps having witnessed An Yi's formidable abilities, the trainees, who had been working overtime for the past three days to prepare for this piece, actually had a few perform quite well. Of course, An Yi did not praise them.

After all, in his eyes, there are two kinds of people who can't even prepare a song in three days: one is mentally challenged, and the other is Jin He.

Well done?

Isn't it expected that we should do well?

"Based on your classroom performance and this assessment results, we have selected the center position for this year as..." An Yi deliberately kept everyone in suspense, "Actually, there are two people whose performances really exceeded my expectations this time."

"oops……"

The members gasped in fright when An Yi jolted them like that.

"First of all, Wen Lian's performance was as good as expected. We mentors also gave you a high score. You are very good. However, the overall performance was not memorable. You lack personal style."

Wen Lian's forehead was still covered with fine beads of sweat. Hearing this, he bowed and said, "Yes, Teacher An."

"There's another person... Fang Xiaoke."

Fang Xiaoke, standing in the crowd, widened his eyes instantly. He never expected that Teacher An would suddenly call on him. He stared wide-eyed and didn't move, like a frightened groundhog.

Who else do you think performed well in this assessment?

"Who else? Who else?" Fang Xiaoke's eyes scanned the crowd. "Jin He! Brother Xiao He!"

"Hmm? Why do you think that?"

"Because you can usually tell that Brother Xiaohe's health isn't very good, but I think it's already amazing that he's been able to persevere until now." Fang Xiaoke couldn't stand the slander against Jin He on the internet, and she took every opportunity to try and bring up topics related to Jin He.

"I see. It seems everyone has been working very hard these past few days," An Yi continued. "So, Fang Xiaoke, how do you think you performed?"

"It's alright. Before, I would get out of breath when singing and dancing at the same time, but today during my assessment, I was able to hit the high notes that I had never been able to reach before."

"Hmm, not bad." An Yi nodded and said, "Then let's congratulate Fang Xiaoke for taking the center position for this theme song recording by a mere one point, ahead of Wen Lian!"

After a heavy blow, Ji Feng reacted instantly, jumping up to hug Fang Xiaoke: "Wow! Center position! Center position! Xiaoke! You beat Wen Lian! You beat Xu Yuxiang! You're so amazing! You're so amazing!"

Fang Xiaoke stood there, stunned and incredulous. She covered her mouth with both hands, a scream stuck in her throat, but she couldn't utter it: "I, I, I'm the center!"

"Yes, yes!"

"Congratulations, Xiao Ke. You haven't slept well for the past few days, so you've finally achieved your wish."

"I, I, I really am the center!" Fang Xiaoke jumped up and down excitedly, looking at Jin He with tears in her eyes: "I, I'm the center!"

It's no wonder Fang Xiaoke was excited; anyone who gets to be in the center position during the theme song recording is basically guaranteed a debut spot.

Even Wen Lian applauded him, seemingly convinced: "Congratulations."

Jin He could actually understand Fang Xiaoke's current feelings. After all, when An Yi's song won an award back then, that kid was even more excited than Fang Xiaoke. He hugged Lin Nian, drank, acted crazy, and cried all night.

"We will begin the recording and rehearsal of the theme song program tonight, so please don't be absent."
