Jin He brought the takeout home and found someone inside. The aroma of food wafted over him. At this hour, only that person could be at his house.
"elder brother!"
A head popped out of the kitchen, and Jin Miao rushed out wielding a spatula: "I heard you have a job again! Brother, brother! Where are you going?! You haven't even taken your makeup off yet! Where have you been!"
The little girl rushed out with disheveled hair, startling Jin He, who quickly took two steps back: "Stop! Stop!"
"Why are you eating takeout again? Oh, hurry up and give it to me. I've made a meal. Wash your hands and get ready to eat."
Jin He handed over the takeout bag, ran to the sink to wash her hands, and poked her head out to ask, "Why are you back?"
Do I miss you?
Jin Miao sat at the dining table, resting her chin on her hands as she looked at her brother: "I heard... you have a job again?"
"Hmm." Jin He picked up a piece of scrambled eggs with her chopsticks and put it in her bowl. "How did you hear that?"
Jin Miao pouted: "Never mind how I heard it. Why did you suddenly go to work? Didn't you say you were about to retire? How come you still have a job? Is this job tiring? If it's too tiring, you can quit."
"I'm not tired." Jin He shook her head. "My contract is about to expire, so I'll quit after this."
"Oh dear, your work is always so endless, it must be so tiring. Your health is more important, brother. If you're tired, take a rest." Jin Miao put some spare ribs on his plate. "I'm serious, I can earn money now, you really don't need to work so hard."
"What are you saying? Medical students take several years to complete their master's degree... You eat too, don't worry about me," Jin He said. "Just focus on your studies. You're the only high achiever in our family, so don't worry about money. Your brother has plenty."
Jin Miao sighed, looking at her brother's pointed chin. Her brother had always been so thin, and even after resting for several years, he hadn't gained weight. He was on nutritional supplements and medicine all day long. What would happen when he got older?
"I feel sorry for you," she said.
“It’s very late now,” Jin He said. “You can sleep in the guest room tonight. I won’t take you to school tomorrow morning; I have to go to the film set.”
"Okay, I understand."
Jin He left quietly before dawn, pulling his small suitcase, without waking his younger sister.
He arrived relatively early. He had to put his suitcase away first and then wait for notification in his dormitory. As soon as he entered the venue, there were already photographers following him.
"Take a picture of me." Jin He walked forward cheerfully, carrying her suitcase. "Go and rest for a while, you don't need to take a picture of me."
Anyway, it won't be edited in after it's filmed.
Seeing that the photographer was still insisting, Jin He didn't force him anymore. This was his job. After the production team got his dormitory nameplate, he carried his suitcase up to the fourth floor, panting heavily like a bellows.
"You know, that's what getting old is like," Jin He said, straightening up while leaning against the wall. "Aren't you tired? That machine of yours is heavier than my suitcase, isn't it?"
The photographer shook his head.
"Okay, you guys are all so aloof now." Jin He pushed open her room door. It was a four-person dormitory with wooden bunk beds. The beds were spacious enough for an adult man to sleep in. Jin He glanced around and then ran to the bathroom to take a look. "Wow, it's so spacious! Is this the sponsor's milk?"
"Ouch..." Jin He muttered to herself as she pulled a mask out of her suitcase and put it on. She then pulled out a bottle of disinfectant alcohol, put on gloves, and began to work diligently.
He wiped the bed frame inside and out with alcohol wipes, then borrowed a new mop from the cleaning lady, poured some disinfectant alcohol on the mop, and quickly mopped the floor.
Finally, with a solemn expression, he took out his three-piece bedding set from his suitcase. After taking out the sheets, he discovered a box of red date candy hidden in the suitcase.
"Hey, look, I still have some food here." Jin He waved the candy box at the cameraman. "This jujube candy is delicious, have a piece?"
Without waiting for the photographer to refuse, Jin He stuffed two pieces into his shirt pocket: "These are Jin He's limited edition, made by my family, you can't buy them outside."
The cameraman simply held up his camera and filmed him quietly. Jin He wasn't embarrassed that no one responded to him. He climbed onto the bed, changed into his three-piece bedding set, and then ran outside to get his takeout.
Then Jin He performed a half-hamburger bite in front of the camera.
Photographer: "..."
Should we tell him?
Jin He choked so badly he kept pounding his chest. Seeing the photographer still there with his camera, the dark lens pointed right at him, his years of professional training suddenly made him unable to swallow the hamburger in his mouth.
"Are you still filming?" Jin He asked.
The photographer nodded.
Jin He put the last bite of the hamburger into her mouth and stuffed her hash brown into the photographer's mouth: "Take a break, you haven't had breakfast this early in the morning, have you? This smells delicious."
Photographer: You're a really nice person.
Jin He's burger didn't have any salad dressing, so it didn't taste very good. It was just a bun with meat in it. After finishing the burger in a few bites, Jin He took a sip of soy milk and smoothed it down. He figured he was full, so he slowly picked up the trash bag and went out to throw it away.
As they walked, they hummed a song: "McDonald's hamburger~ burger~ burger~ burger~"
Photographer: "..."
Never mind, a good photographer never talks too much.
As more and more people entered the base, more and more young faces entered the dormitory building. Jin He walked around the building with his hands behind his back and encountered many people as well.
Some of them would give Jin He a cold glance and then pretend not to see her before walking past, while others would smile at Jin He in a friendly manner.
Jin He accepted everything without question, perhaps he was already immune to some strange looks. After figuring out where the cafeteria was, he put his hands behind his back and walked back.
"Are you going to get back to work?" The cameraman patted his shoulder, signaling him to leave. Jin He looked at the cameraman and waved his hand, "Yeah, you've been with me all morning, but it's all been for nothing. It won't be edited out. Go film other people."
No matter how much we tried to persuade him, he wouldn't listen; this cameraman is really stubborn.
He went to a convenience store and bought a glass jar, intending to put the jujube candy that Xiao Miao had packed for him into the jar. When he returned to the dormitory, he found that the other three people had all arrived, and the dormitory was filled with suitcases of all sizes. Jin He's pitifully small suitcase was squeezed into a corner.
The three people were packing their luggage when they saw Jin He enter. They all stopped what they were doing and turned to look at him.
"Hey everyone, good morning!" Jin He greeted them warmly.
"Ah, ah, good morning."
Good morning, Senior Jin He.
“No need to call me senior, we’re all the same here.” Jin He smiled slightly, his face glowing white in the sunlight. He asked, “Would you like some red date candy first? I made it at home, it’s really delicious.”
The other three trainees were instantly blinded by that smile, forgetting even to breathe. This is the destructive power of the top visual in a boy group, terrifyingly so!
Fans and viewers may forget about Jin He, but the trainees will never forget him. When they are learning dance moves, practicing songs, and watching music videos, they are still often struck by Jin He's face.
Jin He—when he debuted, he was hailed as having a face kissed by God. He was only eighteen years old at the time, and he single-handedly opened up the domestic entertainment market for Aurora with his face. It may sound exaggerated, but that's the truth. Aesthetics are such a subjective thing. Even if haters criticize his professional skills to the skies, they can't find a single flaw in his face.
Jin He was indeed very popular during that period. You could see him as soon as you turned on the TV or opened your phone. He was featured in variety shows, dramas, fashion weeks, and music shows. His makeup and styling were always top-notch. However, good looks alone might not be enough to propel the group to the top. He went out to show his face as the visual of Aurora, attracting a lot of fans to the group. After getting to know them better, he was successfully retained by An Yi, who is now known as Teacher An, for his outstanding professional skills and stage presence.
It's fair to say that Aurora was incredibly popular during those years, and even now that they've disbanded, they still have a large fanbase.
Of course, the protection afforded by the group's fans may not include Jin He, otherwise he wouldn't be so unpopular now.
