Chapter 147 Writing Songs

Jin He felt that An Yi was being a bit too anxious. It was one thing for him to do everything himself, like taking a bath and eating, but he even had to lend a hand when An Yi changed his clothes, as if he was afraid that An Yi would faint if his blood supply failed. Even though Jin He repeatedly emphasized, "I can change my underwear by myself!"

"What are you doing! What's there to be shy about? I've seen you all before. I was the one who cleaned your body when you were unconscious."

“That was before.” Jin He tugged at her pants, her face flushed. “I can change myself now, I don’t need you to.”

Why is your face so red? Do you have a fever?

"No..." Jin He scratched his neck, pushed An Yi out of the room, and started changing his clothes. Just as he pulled up his pants, his phone rang. It was a message from Fu Youwu.

Fu Youwu: How is your recovery going?

Jin He: It's pretty good. Except for not being able to do strenuous exercise, I've almost recovered.

Fu Youwu: Then let's play a few minutes of music for the fans tomorrow and sing a song for them.

Fu Youwu: They were so worried that they all came to me.

Jin He: Sure, but what song do you want to sing...?

Fu Youwu: It's up to you. No problem. Just tell me what you've chosen, and I'll go buy the copyright directly.

Jin He: ...

They're really rich and powerful.

Jin He: When will I join the crew?

Fu Youwu: I'll send the script to you tomorrow and we can talk some more.

Jin He: OK.

Jin He was in a great mood when he suddenly got a job. After changing into his pajamas, he opened the door and found An Yi still waiting at the door. He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw him come out.

"I'm going to sing a few songs on a live stream tomorrow," Jin He said. "But I don't know what to sing. Should I sing 'Soaring'?"

“Some of the notes are too high, you can’t handle them right now,” An Yi said. “Give me your playlist, and I’ll pick a few for you.”

"OK."

"Then you now..."

"I'm going to sleep now!"

Jin He's biological clock had been trained; she was always sleepy by 10 PM every night. An Yi sat in the living room with his tablet, looking at Jin He's long playlist. He first eliminated rap, high notes, and heavy metal, and then...

It seems that Jin He can only sing some simple pop songs that are not very difficult and do not require much breath control now. In addition, Jin He has been out of touch with the entertainment industry for a long time, so there are some new songs that he doesn't know.

An Yi frowned and took his tablet into his composition room on the first floor.

Jin He got up at six o'clock sharp the next morning, but An Yi was not sleeping next to him. He touched the bedding and found it was cold. He was a little puzzled. After washing up, he went downstairs and saw Aunt Shu putting breakfast on the table.

"Oh, Xiao He, you're awake." Aunt Shu gestured for him to sit down. "An Yi said you should eat first, don't wait for him."

Where are the others?

"I'm busy with work." Aunt Shu put the last dish of pickled cucumber on the table, wiped the water off her hands, and Jin He finally picked up her chopsticks, took a bite of a red bean bun, and chewed it.

After a while, he felt a little bored again, so he took out his phone to look at today's script.

"An Yi said he doesn't allow you to look at your phone while eating..." Aunt Shu reminded him.

“Okay.” Jin He shrugged and said with a smile, “There’s a camera belonging to An Yi here.”

"An Yi has been so worried about your health. I see that you look much better lately, with a rosy complexion. That's great! Now you look like a 25-year-old young man."

"Hmm!" Jin He lowered her head and took a sip of the red date porridge, then said, "Aunt Shu, can we talk about something? Could you please not make sweet porridge tomorrow morning? I don't really like sweet porridge."

"Your menus are all customized by a nutritionist. If you need any changes... I can talk to her about it. So, what kind of porridge would you like to have tomorrow?"

"Vegetable and preserved egg congee".

"How about adding some lean meat?"

Jin He shook her head: "No..."

As they were talking, the door to the composition room opened. Jin He looked in the direction of the sound and saw An Yi with huge dark circles under his eyes, yawning and carrying two pieces of paper. He sat down next to Jin He, looking dazed, and said, "Aunt Shu, could you please get me a bowl of porridge, please..."

Aunt Shu quickly opened the clay pot and ladled out a bowl. An Yi, with his eyes half-closed, stirred the porridge a couple of times with a spoon, blew on it to cool it down, and then brought the porridge to Jin He's lips: "Here, ah~"

Jin He: "..."

Aunt Shu: "..."

"Ahem, well, the food's all ready. I'll be going now. Just tell me what you want for lunch on WeChat, and I'll come back and cook." Aunt Shu quickly took off her apron and ran off.

"I've already eaten," Jin He muttered softly, her cheeks flushing. "How old am I, and you still feed me like this? It's so annoying..."

“Oh…” An Yi blinked twice, finished the porridge in his bowl, and then showed Jin He the sheet music in his hand: “I wrote it last night. You can still learn it now. You can sing these two songs tonight, and then we can chat. An hour or so will go by quickly.”

"You wrote this all night!" Jin He exclaimed.

“Yeah… Oh dear, all the songs you know now are outdated, and your heart and lungs aren’t in good condition right now, so you can’t sing anything too intense. If you sing outdated pop songs, people will criticize you for not having any talent.”

"These two songs are fresh out of the oven, custom-made, and absolutely perfect for you."

"You stayed up all night like this?" Jin He leaned closer, cupped An Yi's face in her hands, and moved it from side to side to look at the dark circles under his eyes. She said with heartache, "How could you stay up all night? Go eat and get some sleep."

"I'll wash the dishes and then go to sleep."

"I'll do the dishes today."

"You're swearing."

Jin He: "..."

No! Does this bowl absolutely have to be washed?

As An Yi spoke, he began to get to work, tidying up the dishes while nagging, "When have I ever asked you to wash the dishes? A man who asks his wife to wash the dishes is not a good man. You said you would wash the dishes? You are challenging my dignity as a man. Really... I didn't do anything and you scolded me."

Jin He: "..."

He suspected that An Yi had secretly learned some strange things behind his back, such as "Male Virtue" or "Male Admonitions".

Jin He's request to help An Yi wipe the water stains off the dishes was rejected. After finishing his meal, he sat alone on the sofa looking at the sheet music that An Yi had written. After An Yi finished washing the dishes, he washed his hands twice and ran back to Jin He to get close.

Jin He hooked his arm around the man and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. "You've worked hard. Go back and get some sleep."

"I'll practice with you."

“I can read sheet music, I don’t need your help.” Jin He patted his shoulder. “Don’t stay up late, do you want to have an incision in your heart too? Listen to me, go back to sleep…”

Jin He glanced at her watch: "Two hours. I'll wake you when it's time."

"Fine," An Yi said dejectedly.
