Chapter 114 Neighbors

The medical equipment arrived quickly, and An Yi immediately found someone to install it. He also hired a housekeeper to clean the house thoroughly, making sure it was spotless. Only after confirming that the hygiene standards met the hospital's requirements did he return to the hospital to announce the good news to Jin He.

"Really?!" Jin He was overjoyed. "I can go home?! Right now?"

"Let's go now!"

Then, An Yi drove Jin He to his doorstep.

Jin He: "..."

"I said, I want to go home."

“Yes, that’s right.” An Yi answered matter-of-factly, “Home, that’s right.”

"I'm going back to my own home."

“Isn’t this your own home?” An Yi pulled Jin He through the door. “Look, the doormat is yours, isn’t it?”

"The cushions on the sofa, are they from your house?"

"The sheets and duvet cover on the bed, are they from your house too?"

“So this is your home, no problem,” An Yi said.

Jin He: "..."

That's too one-sided!

"When did you take my things from my house? You robber!"

"Oh." An Yi said calmly, "Then call the police and have me arrested."

Jin He couldn't reason with him at all. What was the point of living at An Yi's house? "I want to go back to my own home, the dormitory that the company assigned me."

“I forgot to tell you, the doctor agreed to your discharge because he already knows that I have a complete set of medical equipment at home for emergencies. If you suddenly fall ill here, there is a resident doctor who can treat you in time. But if you go back to your dormitory…” An Yi drawled, “you will have to go back to the hospital.”

"You can choose to stay here or in the hospital."

Jin He's face turned ashen. She stood there stammering for a long time before finally managing to say, "Then I don't want to share a room with you."

“Okay.” An Yi readily agreed.

“There’s a consultation room on the first floor, and the refrigerator has your usual medications. The doctor also lives here, so you can come directly to see the doctor if you need anything,” An Yi continued. “I’ve also brought Aunt Shu here. Aunt Shu lives on the first floor too. If you want anything to eat, you can just tell Aunt Shu.”

"What about my room?"

"It's the first room on the second floor," An Yi said, pulling Jin He back as she was about to go upstairs. "There's an elevator, take it up."

"On the second floor."

"The second floor is no good either, climbing stairs is too strenuous. Why did I choose a house with an elevator?"

Jin He touched his nose, walked to the elevator door and pressed the elevator button. An Yi followed him to his room.

"The oxygen machine is right next to your bed. Don't you often experience chest tightness? Also, look, this bed is electric. You press here, and the headboard will automatically rise. And this control panel can connect to all the facilities in the room. This is the curtains, this is the light, this is the water heater, this is the air conditioner..."

Jin He stared wide-eyed as An Yi explained it to him. It was so smart; it seemed like he didn't have to do anything and could just live his life lying in bed. "I feel like I'm paralyzed."

"Hiss..." An Yi patted his shoulder, "What are you saying? You have no sense of propriety at all."

"Oh, I was wrong, I was wrong."

The apology lacked sincerity.

Jin He looked left and right, feeling that the house was too big. If An Yi went to work, he would be very bored. However, he couldn't say anything. After all, judging from the layout and facilities of the room, An Yi had put a lot of thought into it. Jin He couldn't make things difficult for him, so he didn't say anything more.

Immediately afterwards, they heard the doorbell ring. An Yi glanced at the security camera on his tablet and saw that it was their neighbor from next door, carrying some kind of bag and peeking around.

Who is it?

“Oh, my neighbor,” An Yi said. “He’s the one who got your medical equipment. I heard he’s a very easy person to get along with. You can go visit him if you’re bored.”

"Then hurry up and go down to greet them, don't keep them waiting too long." Jin He reached out and nudged An Yi.

When Jin He opened the door, he finally saw what his legendary neighbor looked like. He was very pleasing to the eye, with a round face and round eyes; he was a very handsome young man.

The first time I saw Jin He on the weekend, I exclaimed in an exaggerated "Wow!": "You must be Jin He! You're so beautiful, no wonder you're a big star!"

"Ah, hello." Jin He smiled.

"Hello, hello! Let me introduce myself. My name is Zhou Mo, and I live next door. From now on, we're neighbors. It's so great to have you here; having such a good-looking neighbor is a real treat for my eyes!"

Jin He felt a little embarrassed by his compliment and said, "You look very good too."

"Oh, these are vegetables I grew myself. This is scallion, corn, and cabbage. You can cook them yourself." Zhou Mo pointed to the vegetable greenhouse in his yard. "I just picked them from the field, they're so fresh!"

"You have a vegetable greenhouse at home?" Jin He poked her head out and exclaimed in surprise.

"Ah, it's just one of my little hobbies," Zhou Mo said.

"Thank you so much. We should be visiting you now that we've moved in. And An Yi told me you've been a great help. Why don't you stay for dinner before you go? I'll cook for you myself."

"I won't trouble you for now, I have a dinner engagement tonight." Zhou Mo leaned closer and said, "Mr. An said you weren't feeling well, and now that I see you, it's true, you're really thin. This can't be good, you must eat properly."

"Yes, thank you."

"Oh, you're welcome! Let's hang out sometime!"

After seeing off her new neighbor, Jin He, carrying a bag of fresh vegetables, felt a little lost and said to An Yi, "He's so kind; he brought so much food."

"Okay, let's make corn and pork rib soup tonight. I'll ask Aunt Shu to buy some corn." An Yi thought the things were too heavy, so he took them and carried them himself.

“Then what should I give him in return?” Jin He followed behind An Yi. “We should give him something in return.”

"They lack nothing."

"That's different," Jin He said, looking troubled. "Oh dear, I'm not very good at cooking either. What should I do? Maybe I should learn to make some snacks and desserts? Would he like them?"

An Yi fell silent.

What do you think?

“She has a boyfriend,” An Yi said. “Besides, you’ve never made me any snacks or treats.”

Jin He: "..."
