Chapter 83 Traditional Chinese Medicine

An Yi had long suspected that Jin He might have some kind of health problem; otherwise, how could a normal man be so thin and not eat well?

An Yi immediately dragged Jin He to the hospital. Holding the hospital's medical report, he was so angry that the veins on his forehead were bulging. He asked, "Can't you take it easy? Do you really want to die?"

Jin He glanced at the report in his hand and guiltily touched her nose.

“No serious illness, but a whole bunch of minor ailments. Jin He, aren’t you taking yourself a little too lightly? What are you doing right now?” An Yi said irritably. “I’ve also asked for leave for you from the company’s training tonight. You should rest at home for a day.”

"How can we let training be delayed..."

"Then you'll have to be alive to train. Look at your dark circles, they're almost up to your mouth." An Yi pulled down his mask. "Go home!"

“Wait a minute…” Jin He stopped in her tracks. “My mother-in-law is in the hospital upstairs. I’m going to go see her.”

"Then I'll go too." An Yi muttered as he followed Jin He out. Jin He was going out to buy her some fruit and food, and he asked, "What illness did Grandma have that she was hospitalized with?"

Heart failure.

Jin He replied, "You know, this disease is incurable. My mother-in-law's condition is already very serious, and she can only stay in the hospital."

An Yi had heard of this disease; there was indeed no cure. If it were a young person, with proper care, it shouldn't be a problem, but her mother-in-law was already very old…

"Hello, Grandma," Jin He said on the phone, "I'm downstairs at the hospital. What would you like to eat? I'll bring it over..."

An Yi watched as Jin He's smile faded, and he seemed quite disappointed: "Ah, is that so? Well, have a good time shopping... Does the doctor allow you to go out freely?... Hmm, that's good. Then I won't bother you anymore. Don't get too tired from shopping, come back early... Hmm, I'm going back now."

"What's wrong?"

“My aunt took my mother-in-law out shopping,” Jin He said. “She said she wanted to buy two cool and breathable clothes.”

"Then you're not going up?"

"Let's not go anymore," Jin He waved her hand. "Then let's go back to the dorm. I want to go back to sleep."

As soon as Jin He got home, she crawled into bed and fell fast asleep, like a dead person. An Yi, clutching a thick stack of medical reports, turned and went into the practice room. Lin Nian was stretching on the floor when she saw An Yi storm in and asked, "Did you two have another fight?"

An Yi shoved the diagnostic reports into Lin Nian's arms one by one, turned around and left, keeping his merits and fame hidden.

The sweltering heat quickly passed, and Jin He finally finished his training. Filming officially began at the end of August, and at the same time, the group's album was almost ready, and they were building momentum for the new album.

Jin He was like a farmer reaping a bountiful harvest. Although he was a bit tired, at least he was enjoying it.

On the day he filmed his first scene, He Mingxu caught him and gave him a good scolding.

His first scene was a scene of Min Huai playing and laughing with the protagonist and the young marquis when he was studying at the Imperial Academy as a child. At this stage, Min Huai was still a young master from a wealthy family, so he shouldn't be as thin as a refugee.

“I told you I needed to gain weight. Look at this photo of you, do you look good? You can’t even fill out your clothes.”

Jin He leaned closer to the camera and examined it carefully, his expression grave.

"Look at your face, it's so thin it's almost sunken in. Is that pretty? Is that pretty?"

Jin He shook her head, her long, waterfall-like hair swaying back and forth: "It doesn't look good, it doesn't look good..."

"I told you to gain weight, where did you gain it? How much do you weigh now?"

Jin He was too embarrassed to tell the director that he had recently lost some weight, so he kept looking at the sky, the ground, and the lighting, but not at He Mingxu.

“You, you, if you were my son, I would definitely…” He Mingxu, taking care of the costume team, said, “You two, put some more shoulder pads on him.”

This is a difficult problem. Jin He usually wears idol makeup for magazine shoots and stage performances, which easily hides her flaws. But now, on the big screen, while Jin He's face is beautiful, she's incredibly thin.

"This is really affecting the viewing experience; it's not good." He Mingxu glanced down at Jin He, who was intently watching the monitor, and said, "Other actors would lose over ten pounds for a role, but is it really that difficult for me to make you gain a little weight instead of losing it?"

Jin He, with a piece of bread stuffed in her mouth, was scolded like a little quail: "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, director."

"Oh dear, kids just aren't naturally strong and can't gain weight, so don't blame him." The male lead, Su Youran, overheard the argument and quickly stepped in to smooth things over: "This guy didn't just get angry, he can't just gain weight like that!"

"Then look at this shot!"

Jin He looked up and saw that, at least now Min Huai and the male lead were in the same age group, while Jin He looked a whole size younger than them when she stood there.

"You're playing the good guy again!"

“Aside from the ending, aren’t all the other scenes in Xia Qiu?” Su Youran reached out and supported Jin He’s back, chuckling as he pushed him away. “Go and rest, there’s nothing for you here.”

"Thank you, thank you, Brother Su."

“It’s alright, Director He just has a short temper,” Su Youran said. “If you can’t gain weight no matter how much you eat, you can go see a traditional Chinese medicine doctor and get some medicine to regulate your stomach and intestines, which will help a lot.”

Jin He took these words to heart. As soon as he finished filming today, he hurriedly asked Wang Yang to take him to the traditional Chinese medicine clinic. The white-bearded TCM doctor held him down and gave him a few acupuncture needles. Afterwards, he was prescribed a bag of medicine. Jin He carried the small bag of medicine back to his dormitory.

After finishing dinner, he went to the kitchen with great seriousness, boiled water, and put the medicine bag into the water to heat it up.

"What are you eating?" Shen Duoyuan asked curiously, holding an apple in his hand. He was on a diet recently, cutting out carbohydrates, high-fat and high-sugar foods, so his mouth tasted bland. He wasn't the only one; Lin Nian and Jiang Xiubai were also controlling their weight, so their meals were as bland as possible lately.

Jin He looked serious and inserted the straw into the bag: "Traditional Chinese medicine."

"Traditional Chinese medicine?" Shen Duoyuan happily leaned over: "Can I try some?"

Why do I even have to take medicine? Jin He protectively held onto her bowl: "What's wrong with you?"

"I just have no taste in my mouth, let me have a taste."

This gluttonous little juice, just smelling this medicine makes Jin He's tongue taste bitter, how come he still drinks a sip of Chinese medicine for fun.

"This is bitter."

"Shh." Shen Duoyuan put a finger to Jin He's lips and smiled wickedly: "I don't care what you think, I care what I think."

"Then, you can drink it."

Shen Duoyuan eagerly picked up the bowl of medicine and took a small sip. His expression was as if he were savoring some kind of celestial elixir; his brow relaxed, and he seemed to float away: "Hmm, the fragrance of herbs at a state banquet~"

Jin He: "..."

Is he crazy?

"Would you like some more?"

"No, thank you." Shen Duoyuan was very tactful and knew that this was the medicine Jin He needed to drink. He couldn't drink it all, otherwise it would delay Jin He's treatment. "You drink it."

Seeing the look of enjoyment on his face, Jin He picked up the bowl of medicine and took a sip with some skepticism.

"puff!"
